Lou really oozes talent. Max dancing is just adorable. He just dotes on his dad. Your pride and love for Lou just makes you glow. May you have a lifetime of smiles and happiness. X
Dana explains her deep joy so beautifully. Lou - so talented and such a peaceful and mature dad. Max so cute when he’s looking in the spice box. Would love a tour of the woods. Your home is definitely an oasis. Thank you for another gorgeous video x
Haha he loooooved the endless mysteries of the spice box! Lots of brand new toys... Thank you so much for the really kind words, Alexandra ❤ Thanks for spending some time with us today x
The two of you are such relationship goals. I love your love. It is so obvious, just how you each talk about each other, the way you look at each other. Your love is so pure and authentic. You are blessing your son with such a gift of growing him up in such a simplistic loving life. Blessings to your family.
One of the biggest blessings you can give yourself as a Momma is to teach your kids to nap during all kinds of noise. It will make your life alot easier. My kids can sleep through anything. And it's amazing I can get anything done.
Happy is the woman who has a waterproof floor in her kitchen, big drawers with dividers in her bedroom, and a place to take a cold plunge on a hot day!! I’m late to the video today because we spent the day cleaning out the remainder of last summer’s garden root veggies out of the root cellar. Also, we have been working to get the garden in and the greenhouse going… oooff, it’s a busy time of the year!! I can relate to your strategy to deal with the heat; knowing how to move air with fans is a handy skill to master. Of course, cold plunges are sheer delight too! Thank-you for this week’s video, it was very relaxing to watch and so enjoyable to see your progress. I also enjoy your moments of reflection at the wood pile… I think I’ll refer to this part of your video as “Woodpile Reflections on Life”. Thanks again Dana, have a great week ahead!! Ⓜary🇨🇦🌲
Thank you so much for sharing your lives over all these years; your videos always inspire me to continue working towards my own long term goals. When things feel too hard, when I'm overwhelmed, unmotivated, and burnt out, I come back to your channel to find a sense of calm and to remind myself that I have *grit.* You've shown me that I can achieve anything, as long as I continue to show up day after day, and that it's possible to find beauty and joy along the way.
You live in such a beautiful area, I would love to live remotely surrounded by woodland, the peacefulness and remoteness would be wonderful. The kitchen container is even more beautiful I love the window surrounds. Those drawers are great such a brilliant use of the space and idea storage. Loved the guitar playing Lou. There is always a balance that has to be made to continue building work and looking after the baby, but it is worth it to be all together. Have a wonderful week x
Yes, you are so right about the balance :) Thank you so much for the kind words, too, Lynne, we are so happy you liked spending some time with us today!! Hope you are enjoying a nice Sunday x
Ahhh, lovely lovely beautiful. Max's little shimmy dance is adorable❤ Lou's guitar playing is awesome! Love this style of video with Dana's narration, and Lou's editing (?)... the birds, the heat... looking forward to seeing the kitchen come together! 🐝🦋🐜🐞🌿
Is your middle name Joy? Because if it's not, I'd surley add that to your name! I love how you have joy for all the things your husband does and for all the little details of your life. You admire and encourage him for all the things he does, and that is pretty special. That is what makes me keep coming back here to watch. You both have a desire and zest for life that is contagious! 😊 Blessings to you and your little family.
Max dancing to Lou playing guitar made me tear up. The joy you create being a family is so magical and I feel so honoured to be able to see that happening. I never wanted kids or a family of my own but you guys spark something in me - seeing what it could be like makes me second guess myself
Oh you take me back to when (we) I moved onto our block of land here in Western Australia in the mid '80's......... the JOY of living on a construction site........ doing our own thing as and when we could..... growing our own veges and animals........ Oh thank you for this - the memories are amazing!!
How nice to see you again! It's been ages (my fault) and my face is smiling smiling smiling. Max is delightful. He is such an enthusiastic helper with everything. (Gotta confess to a genuine LOL moment when y'all were putting stuff into and out of the storage container. He is fast. ;-) And what a lovely magical time when Lou played for his family. (((hugs)))
Wow you guys popped into my mind earlier at work - I thought to myself I wonder what these guys have been up to recently… started watching in 17’-18’ last watched a video of yours probably 2 years ago… You’re doing outstandingly - congratulations on everything you have achieved.
So happy you guys are settling in well. I love grinding my own spices too. I typically roast them for a minute or so in a dry saucepan then grind. Cumin is an especially rewarding spice to grind 1000x better taste. I also make my own garam masala etc. I use my mortar & pestle for bits & pieces but I wanted to recommend an electric coffee grinder for bulk grinding if you are time poor (it can only be used for spices tho as coffee will never taste the same 😅).
Things are coming along so nicely, and you all really do have the most serene existence up there, beautiful! I've just been re-watching your 'Living On Less' series/3 euros a day from about 7 years ago, and it was so nice to watch these again and step back to where I first discovered you guys, such a different life then but both just as beautiful pure souls as you are now. I just had one question though, I kept noticing that you mentioned it would be a six part series but there were only 5 vlogs, and it skipped from vlog 12 to 14 with no 13 anywhere, so that made me wonder if there was one missing? If you can let me know that would be great, thanks! 😊 Keen to take a step back and try some of these recipes out too, so am hoping the link to the amazing looking free ebook still works. Thanks to both of you for being you and for giving us such lovely insights into your world, always so enormously grateful! 🤗
I read a book years ago that had a description of the Catskills that I wish I had written down. I don't even remember the name of the book because it wasn't memorable apart from her description of those hills, especially their color. She painted a picture of the summer as exploding with every shade of green imaginable. It came to mind today as you talked about the trees! Lovely video!
I can absolutely imagine that, these hills could fill a poetry book with all their detail and beauty at every turn :) Thanks for sharing, Debra!! Hope you are enjoying some nature this season, too :)
Between the wall tent and containers, the money and time could have been used to build a fabulous cabin/home. Lou has the skills. Still not sure how the three separate containers will be a long term living situation with changing seasons and a growing family.
Thinking about you guys while the wild fires are happening. Hope you're not getting too bad with the air quality. Just thought of that when you mentioned breathing in the fresh air up there.
I've been wondering if Max is walking yet, seldom see him on the floor except playing and once to scoot. The kitchen is going to be beautiful like all the spaces so far. So amazing, your lives❤ And Lou has so many talents and so intentional 🎉❤
He just turned one year old. What's the rush? My 2 grandchildren walked at 15 and 16 months. I would like to see Max being carried less, for Dana's sake especially.
@@earthangel8730True, he's a chunk😊 Point of reference, I walked at 9 months, my daughter at 11. Didn't see it as rushed, at all. I won't misinterpret your response to be unfriendly as I'm sure with inflection it wouldn't sound so. On the other hand, almost 2? Wow. Mine was potty training before that I think, not entirely certain as it was 32 years ago. Lol But I am happy to say she was reading full on at age 3. By herself, with comprehension. (I realize that's not common, just depends what a parent does with their child, ours was reading). Sent her on her life journey ahead of peers by leaps and bounds. It's been a good thing. Her child is also way ahead... Enjoy your day as I will❣💫

You guys are great and I admire you so much, but put that kid down. He is so dependent on you you’re not doing him or you any favours. Your love is very evident but it would be better for both of you
Lou is such an amazing person. You are too! Your family, your journey are one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
Lou really oozes talent. Max dancing is just adorable. He just dotes on his dad. Your pride and love for Lou just makes you glow. May you have a lifetime of smiles and happiness. X
❤❤❤ Thank you, Rebena! I'm glowing just reading your kind words, that is all so sweet of you to say :) thank you! wishing you a beautiful Sunday x

Haha glad you find it cute, thank you ❤ hope you are having a wonderful Sunday, Francesca!! xx

You could use your and Lou’s phones as a monitor, FaceTime the monitor! We’ve done that before when it doesn’t reach and it works great!
I love your tent setup. I watched your new kitchen video first butvI think I like the camp kitchen better! It's chaotic and fun with so much light 😁
The way Max steers and likes to fill bowls make me think about him being à little chef. Soon Freya will recieve sand patties.
max is so lucky to have the both of you as parents
Thank you, Junie, that is so kind of you to say ❤ And I love that happy toad in your profile pic!!
Our son loves somewhere over the rainbow too! I love your channel. We are building a homestead in Arizona as well

Right, he wanted to jump right in and join!! Learning so much every day :) Thanks Barbara!! Wishing you a beautiful Sunday xx

Thanks for the update. I'm hoping to buy land and plonk some containers on it near where I live now. Appreciate you sharing parts of your life.
Going awesome 👏 I would be painting it all one colour on the outside so it cohesive.
Place wading pool in the sun for a warm.bathing experience and to wash stuff.
