A personal tip I'd like to share in case anyone new to VR comes across this while getting started on their Quest 2: When drawing your guardian boundary, if you are using air link/Virtual Desktop/standalone quest mode where you have no physical tether to kinda orient around in the real world, you can mark a 'front/back' a 'left/right' or do both by putting a simple shape (wedge/bump) on one side and 2 of that simple shape on the opposing side of the boundary, this particularly applies when you have a mostly square boundary area, you may also want to turn on the 'guardian at a glance' or whatever it's called in the guardian settings where looking down shows you the outline of your guardian. This trick has saved my hands while playing GORN and Creed Rise to Glory MANY times since I am somewhat space restricted and if I swing outside my boundary I run the risk of punching lots of things (this has happened before I implemented this trick and turned on the boundary at a glance).
For number 10, the tracking frequency one. You seem to misunderstand what that is for. The AC power supplied by the power grid to your home cycles at either 50 Hz or 60 Hz. In most of Europe, it cycles at 50 Hz, and in most of the US, it cycles at 60 Hz. Many lightbulbs will actually flicker at 50 or 60 Hz, matching the Hz of the power supply. The flickering lights can interfere with tracking if they're flickering at a different rate than the tracking frequency of the headset. So basically, in most cases, if you're in the US, you want that set to 60 Hz, but if you're in Europe, you want that set to 50 Hz.
I'm a new subscriber of yours. I just won the Quest 2 from my insurance company. Thank you so much for posting these videos. They're super helpful and super informative!
The tracking frequency doesn't track the controllers 60 times a second. It means that it adjust the tracking cameras to adjust to the lights in your room. In the US, the power grids operates at 60Hz which means your lights blink around 60 times a second. In the UK for example, their power system operates at 50Hz which means the lights flicker 50 times a second.
Bro, I love how fast you got into the tips and tricks. No same old intro that every youtuber does that takes minutes to say. This was an awesome video. liked and subbed
A couple days back i finally decided to give the VR another try, as my new phone isn't compatible with the Gear VR that i had been using. I just ordered the 256gb Quest 2 and have learnt a lot from your videos. I just subscribed so that i can keep up to date with all things related to VR. 👍
Dude shows a pixelated picture saying that's what it's like without upgrading your resolution lol I see what your trying to do and I get it but like at least use real pics.. just so you know it's not all bad I did really enjoy the vid and it did help
well those were just to show you that it makes it better. i used real videos in the video itself, like when i switched between them. You wouldn't really tell if i used the real ones that's why, I don't wanna sound fake though cuz it actually does make a significant difference. anyway, im glad it helped!
Actually, from far away, those pictures are pretty accurate, cause you can’t really see anything from far in the headset, and it’s just a reference photo, but it is true, might be a lil over dramatic but it’s close
It’s more than 24 hours, and somehow I have not seen you channel before. Great speedy content. Subscribed. I will use a link today to get some short cords. Or something. LEGEND!!
Great videos, I agree that there is a lot of self promotion in the video, but I respect the hustle, and I've subscribed because I enjoy and find your content helpful!
I used to hate the guardian until I discovered using either a mat or rug or something different material to your floor helps! You can just get the feel of the difference between the floor and the material you are stood on makes a massive difference man I'd recommend doing this if you have the room.
Actually, regarding #18. If you have a smart TV, you can cast to that too! Edit: I forgot the TV has to have Chromecast built in for you to cast to it.
4:28 US - 60hz EU (or elsewhere) - 50hz, it's tied to the frequency the lights running inside your house flash at, best bet set it to auto, do not tamper with it if you don't know what you're doing.
@@lpiwad If you're in the EU, like I am, it's best to keep it at 50hz, changing it to 60hz will not make it better as 10 of those refreshes won't be read properly and decreasing accuracy. Just keep it at auto.
I'm disappointed that the algorithm just now recommended me this video. I should have been recommended it forever ago. You are amazing and I was honestly expecting around 500K subs.
For motion sickness in vr i recommended getting those motion sickness wrist bands, they really helped me and are super cheap so its worth giving them a try!
For a battery bank I would recommend the Nivrana power bank it comes in a little pouch you can put in the back of your headset and it is compatible with the original strap and elite strap and super easy to setup and gives like 8 hours of playtime
Off topic, but...this guy really reminds me of Jennifer Connelly in that movie "Careers opportunities". Sorry, I had to say it. Thanks for all the content, they're soo helpful👊🏼
4:31 - That is insanely misleading! Dont do it! Let it be on automatic. It has nothing to do with the "refresh rate" on the quest or controllers, but has something to do with the hz of the electric grid where you live. Americans should have it on 60 since their electric grid is 60hz, europeans is 50hz. It basically comes down to at which rate the light in your room flickers.
Another TIP, i do on every single one of my headsets as soon as I buy them: Buy HealingShield Watch face protectors from amazon (I use 43mm for Quest 2) and install them on the HMD lenses. No more risk of scratching or damaging them and you can also freely put your glasses and use the headset without worries.

To help me stay in place I just scanned my couch as that sit down mode so I can slightly see the layout when playing games. It’s not that distracting , honestly if I don’t see it I just turn around so I can just so that when I get into the game crazy I can at least fall that way instead of falling into my fireplace or whatever else. My play area is like 4x6 so when I stretch my arms out that go beyond the barrier a little but not enough to hit anything. I’ve adapted to my play space lol
