    I run the boss tgs1100 and 600. I leave the spreader controller on the entire time we are out. Just run the dial to turn on and off. It was a learning curve but now I love it. Agree on the screen and "bag slicer" used it once and about had a heart attack...basically a last resort to cut open the bags if you forget a knife! Great video man! We were out this morning again too! Get it done!

      GET IT DONE WITH GUNN so when your dial is on zero it’s not putting salt out?

    Hey Johnny , I finally had a chance to use our TGS 1100 . I was surprised it went into blast mode for a couple of seconds before spreading at normal rate . I actually like the the insert to cut the bags but I agree its very high in the air to load , the lid latch's seem flimsy ( may need at least 2 more ) and the insert should not have bolts . I plan on doing a review next time I use it . I appreciate your videos especially the know your numbers , it's helped me price several contacts . Nice video!

    Hi Johnny. Just seen your video on your new boss spreader. Mines an older model where it sits on its own stand. You back up to it hook up connections and attaches to a special class 4 hitch wich also is your trailer hitch. It’s a great set up but it does handle bulk or even bagged rock salt very well. If I go from job to job. If it’s really cold I have to get out and spin the spinner backwards so I it will work also they are hard on transmissions. I think the snow ex is the way to go. I love my boss v plow it’s beenbullet proof since the day I brought in home in 2005 Not only did it get me down some longer drives but at lest 3 times it got me home during a blizzard I’m clean across the state from you in Littlestown pa. Keep me posted on how you like it. Merry Christmas to you and your family Johnny. Keep in touCh

    Appreciate the review. I purchased a used sno- way from melters. It is the small one and only holds 200 lbs or so, but don’t have a ton of salt customers so it works for me. Anyway like you just used it yesterday and today and worked fine. Playing with the settings and it has other drawbacks but I can work through them. Snow ex was going to be my purchase but Ed had this one so went with it. Good luck to you and hope it works well for you. Forgot I do use quad release ice melter and charge accordingly as it is expensive but again not many salt customers.

    Johny, as you know i have considered a plow but knew I wouldnt recoop the investment due to limited snow events here in my part of texas. Well...yesterday, we had close to a foot of snow fall overnight. I took numerous calls before the storm from property mngment companies about plowing. My question is this: IF I had a salt spreader like that, AND I got my salt down before the storm hit.....would it keep the lots clear of snow? or would the snowfall overcome the salt and still accumulate? Also thought about a salt spreader AND maybe use my skid to spray brine out of a boom behind the truck. Would those methods work to overcome the need for a plow on parking lots you think? I also thought maybe a single stage toro snowblower for doing driveways and sidewalks might be worthwhile. Maybe im chasing money and headaches but at least though i should ask the question. Your thoughts on this? Sidenote: the BR800 did great for cleaning off the vehicles and the dryer/drifted snow!! Could we get a few real world videos of how to salt lots? X amount of pounds for x amount of square feet at temp y,...those types of things. How to deal with parked cars, etc. Thanks man!

    • @JohnnyMow
      @JohnnyMow  4 роки тому +1

      rbljackson no way would it hold that’s way too much snow. You would have to look at that as a investment. Get a 8 ft plow with some wings run about 4000 you might not recoup that for about a decade tho

      @@JohnnyMow thanks for the info bud. Im going back thru some of your past videos for more info on this stuff. Id love more info on the ins/outs of doing this type of work. Been researching on plowsite as well. We just dont get a lot of snow here typically, but we do have ice from time to time. This snow event was the biggest i can remember in over 10 years (for a single storm). As you get more events, id love to see more videos on how you go about the actual plowing, spreading, pricing methods,, etc. I really enjoy your videos! You threw the motivational video out there on "hit em with a letter" and I immediately sat down and worked one up. Didnt expect to get a foot of snow 2 days later though...LOL>
