I’ve got the gun. I love it. What the others are talking about is a false reset click before the actual reset. Mine doesn’t do it. Beautiful finish!! Feels very high end.
Totally agree. I'm a lefty so this is golden.
It's a quasi 1911. Always welcome in the gun market. Still crossing my fingers for a DA/SA micro.
Very slick little Kimber BTW.
Same. Why does everybody who makes an all-metal, hammer-fired micro 9 thing we all want SAO?
The grip is what sold me on the CSX. Much better grip purchase even with the 10 round magazine and there must be a redesign of the trigger because I haven't had any issues with the false reset. Also a plus is totally ambidextrous
I've shot this twice and love it so far. I haven't noticed any issues with the trigger. The slide is super easy to rack as well, which usually isn't the case with micro-pistols.
I'm very happy with mine. At 48' I put all 12 rds center mass a couple days ago. Very pleasant to shoot. No false resets 200 rds in. I did drift the rear sight a very small amount to center at 7 yds. Great carry gun.
I have the Sig 938 SAS model. It came with a six and extended seven round magazine. I purchased several more seven round magazines and it is very comfortable to hold and shoot with them. I also pocket carry it with the DeSantis pocket holster. Thanks for the video.
The 938 is a great carry gun. I had some issues with mine at first which ended up being a magazine issue. Thanks for watching!
Love mine being a lefty. Doesnt have the false reset. The weight in hand feels nice. I would recommend this to all lefties. Good vid.
Another great review! I can't even carry a key fob in my pocket comfortably, let alone a pistol!🤓 Holsters like the Clinger and Remora are what works best for me. Normally I'll carry 'tucked', so this CSX seems like a real option.
Well balanced and presented review.
I agree with you on this Gun and I like everything about it BUT IMO my G26 has all these features and also comes with a 12 round Magazine and is one of the greatest and most versatile concealed firearm on the Market and has been around for a long time. Believe me, I'm not trying to put down this S&W Gun but as you are doing this comparison, I also must do the same and I think the G26 is a hard gun to beat but at the same time, I do like this new S&W!
The 26 comes with a 10 round mag…
I got the Glock 26 Gen4 back in June I purchased the new Smith & Wesson CSX. I haven't had any trouble with the trigger whatsoever also it is lighter than the Glock 26 it's easier to shoot in my opinion. I love the Glock 26 I just love the feel of metal that I get with the CSX .
Isn't this gun a lot smaller than the 26? I have an M&P SC which is the same as the 26 and I love the 2-finger grip, but it's a different genre than this gun.
G26 is not all metal or hammer fired.
Thanks, good information. I didn't hear you comment on accuracy, though. Do any current owners reading this have a comment on accuracy?
I bought mine early in production and had to fix the false reset problem myself .It was an easy couple hour job.The firing pin block was cut too sharp and had to be rounded and smoothed.I think S&W addressed the issue pretty quick because all the recent reviewers dont seem to have a problem with it.I love mine for all the reasons you mention and it replaced my p365 as my edc as soon as i shot it.I put some bright green on the front sight and its better than the sig night sights in daytime shooting but would love to put real night sights on it when someone can tell me whats compatible. The trigger is the same swinging design as the two guns you mentioned and pulls 4 1/2 lbs, which is exactly the same as my p238 with an a/m trigger and spring kit does.Zero glitches at 600 rounds with 115 ball, 147HST and sig v-crown rounds. Its too bad early reviewers were not smart enough to identify what was making the trigger funky(honestly just lubing the parts and dry cycling/firing took most of it away as the gun was shipped very dry) so a lot of people got scared away from a really great gun.Next thing you know people that never even shot one were telling other people the trigger was crap.
I had 2 major issues w/ Sig p938. Front to back the grip is too wide making trigger reach awkward, and the ambi safety on the right side caught the web of my hand. S&W CSX fits like a glove and there is no safety bite. Overall S&W feels much better in the hand. Got to get one. Thanks for your excellent review.
Good little gun. I've got one and the trigger is good. Not sure what people complain about when it comes to the trigger. I guess they just need to work on their trigger etiquette 🤷♂️ Mine shoots just as good as my little Sig's....
In my top 3 at the moment and think Kimber will do similar soon. Will be very popular.
Another visually appealing S&W handgun. Capacity over the competition is key. Extended beavertail is a plus. Like the Shield Plus, shoots bigger than it is but the former is better out of the box.
I purchased a nzd pinky extention and its truly a perfect fit for my wife hands now
Im selling my pos kahr k9 and getting one of these at the gun show on the 29th.
CSX is the ONLY ambi micro on the market. Not a single micro steel/aluminum or polymer has a slide stop/release on both sides.
I’m a lefty and it pisses me off. Why can’t my hellcat pro have ambi slide stops?
@@smellmyballs2693 Short sightedness on firearms builders failing to realize there's never been as many left handed shooters as there are today. My best option up to now has been my PDP F-Series 3.5". The CSX is joining it very soon.😉
Canik MC9 is ambi
The thing fits my hand well and I liked the concept, but I shoot to reset and thought the reset would drive me nuts. I was pleasantly surprised when I actually fired one. The reset on the particular gun has kind of a hump in its travel, but no “click”, and I had no issues. Ran 300 or so powder coated wheel weight flawlessly and accurately. Next session I’ll run some jacketed/defensive stuff.
Thanks for sharing. I too shoot to reset, and was concerned about the trigger. So much so that I decided to pass on it completely. But after this review and your comment, I'm going to check it out this weekend.
@@edsweeney6843 I was totally going to pass too, figuring it being S&W there’d be a custom shop version coming out soon. Then a local FFL had an estate worth of guns to sell, including a CSX that didn’t show any evidence of being fired… I also felt I wouldn’t know if the reset would drive me nuts without actually firing one, but at the deal I got…
Had mine about a year. Trigger smoothed out, false reset disappeared.however, the finish on the frame is not holding up very well, but i carry it alot.this gun is alot more accurate than l am.
I just want a DA/SA decocker only version of this
P30sk is what your describing
@@zipper396 And it's nearly 1.5" thick.
Ew
If I was to choose a micro 9 it would be the Kimber. But I've seen some bad reviews on the Kimber's being ammo picky a little. The s&w I haven't seen many picky ammo fails on it. I just think the Kimber's are nice after a little break in.
I think it's a great pistol! Appreciate the ambidextrous. I wish it had , maybe a fourteen round mag? And a better base plate?
Both the Sig and the Kimber have better triggers than the S&W.
Triggers are all well and good, but too many jamming failure to feed. Finicky ammo probs for high dollar kimber and sig. Who cares about trigger if gun jams.
@@HansZarkovPhD Who wants a pistol that’s going to have a shit trigger 100% of the time? Most Glock owners, I guess.
If it wasn't for the damned trigger safety, I'd already have one.
I know this video has been out for a while but I've noticed a few other UA-cam reviewers stating the false reset and much heavier trigger pull. Hopefully this is all resolved. I put a rental through the paces and really enjoyed it. Think I'll buy one. Nice review! Hopefully now all the triggers behave like the model you have.
I have the CSX still but I stopped carrying it. The dovetail beats up my thumb knuckle. Plus I HATE the magazine spacers. I replaced it with a P36X and I'm never going back to the CSX.
Of all three guns I like more ammo. I take the CSX. I got mine for 500 plus tax.
Needs to be DA/SA with decocker only -OR- DAO.
Love my csx but i wish they would have just went with all 12 round mags that dont require the spacer. U also think they could have done better on trigger...it doest need the trigger dingus for 1..and reset isnt that great
They probably went with the ten rd mag to satisfy the anti freedom states that only allow 10 rd mags.
Try this pistol it is awesome don't listen to the you tube cry babies
I have one. Not impressed. Pile of mim parts but then again I’m spoiled with high end 1911-2011 pistols. It’s not very accurate. My sig 365 XL shot groups that were half the size at 25 yards. Also the sights suck and you can’t get decent replacements. Yes I know M&P front sights work but there’s no options that match up with the rear in terms of hight. I’m probably not going to be keeping this one very long.
XS Sights makes a front and a rear, and the stock sights work fine for me. Mine is extremely accurate, maybe it's the shooter. 🙂
@@NoNameX45you might be more accurate with a better gun.
A friend of mine has that gun. I shot it at the range. And the trigger is terrible! That is not a 1911 style trigger. In fact, my hellcat shot better than that Gun.
