I saw them in concerts about 1976. Remember, they had no synthesizers back then. That guitar did all that. Heart was the first true female rock band. Barracuda was written in response to their record company getting a reporter to ask them a question suggesting the sisters were lesbian lovers. Barracuda is slang term for a person being a snake or sleaze bag.
Their song 'Alone' (the thumbnail with Ann and Nancy's closeup faces), really shows Ann's amazing vocal range, her's and Nancy's clock-stopping beauty, and Nancy's piano skills...VERY good!
The Wilson sisters were a force in rock in the late 70's, then had a hugely successful comeback in the mid-80's. Ann Wilson has one of the greatest voices in whatever genre she's singing in. Go down the Heat rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed.
Great reaction Brandon and Shante, by actually listening to the song. Heart, Great band, Anne Wilson is a queen when it comes to singing ability and this song is over 50 years old. Thankyou team.
As a 63 year old. I never cared for Heart back in the day. However, I have watched this video countless times thru different reaction channels. And I have yet to grow tired of watching it! Thank you for NOT pausing it! You guys are heading for 1000ks soon! Keep it up!
@@michaelasay8587 Sorry, But I meant to say that I have NOT yet grown tired of watching the video. That was a typo on my part! I appreciate them now! A lot groups back then I didn't like. But now I do.
Great classic rock song by the hardest rocking sisters in rock, Ann Wilson (brunette lead singer) and Nancy Wilson (blonde guitarist and backing vocalist). The Wilson sisters formed a band called The Army in 1967, but they changed the name to Heart in 1973 and this video was recorded in their heyday in the late 70's (although, some people would claim they heyday was in the 80's when they had a bunch of more pop poriented hits, but the 70's was when they had their rock hits). Ann Wilson is definitely one of the greatest female vocalists in the history of rock.
One correction: The Wilson sisters were not in the original band; Roger Fisher (lead guitar), Steve Fossen, Don Wilhelm, and Ray Schaefer formed The Army. Ann joined later, after becoming involved with Michael Fisher (brother of Roger, and part-time member, later the manager). Nancy, who was four years younger, joined a couple of years after that.
🤘❤🤘 Enjoyed y'all's reactions! Heart was formed in 1967 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. They auditioned and hired lead vocalist Ann Wilson in 1970. In 1974, they brought in Ann's sister Nancy in 1974. This great song was written by Ann, Roger, drummer Michael and Nancy.
First time here , I’m duly impressed you listen to the full song first and than comment where as others will stop every few seconds and comment and can’t fully appreciate the song.
Ann Wilson (lead singer) revealed in an interview that the song was about Heart's anger towards Mushroom Records, who as a publicity stunt released a made-up story of an incestuous affair involving Ann and her sister Nancy Wilson (guitarist). The song particularly focuses on Ann's rage towards a male radio promoter who came up to her after a concert asking how her "lover" was. She initially thought he was talking about her boyfriend, (band manager) Michael Fisher. After he revealed he was talking about her sister Nancy, Ann became outraged, went back to her hotel room, and wrote the original lyrics of the song.
The Wilson sisters revealed in various interviews that the song was about Heart's anger towards an ad Mushroom Records placed in trade publications implying that Ann and Nancy were lesbians having an affair. The song focuses on Ann's rage towards a promoter who came up to her after a concert in Detroit asking how her "lover" was. She initially thought he was talking about her then-boyfriend - band member Michael Fisher. After the promoter revealed he was talking about her sister Nancy Wilson, Ann became angry and went back to her hotel room to write the song. Nancy put suitably angry music to the words to complete the song comparing the sleazy side of music to a dangerous fish.
The Wilson sisters are the bomb.... on this side of rock and roll women weren't very highly thought of..they were supposed to sing g love songs and break up songs.....
Must watch Heart’s rendition of Led Zeppelin’s “ stairway to heaven “ at the Kennedy awards! You will thank me later! Keep up the good reactions, new sub here!
I like Heart and my favorite song of theirs. I think you should do 60 's music. The Righteous Brothers "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" "Unchained Melody" make sure you do the live versions. Thank you for not stopping the music in the middle of the music.
If y'all can check out the live MTV cover of this song with Gretchin Wilson and Alice in Chains..it's just pure awesomeness too. One of the best covers there is.
The back story for this song ... recording execs started a rumor that the sisters were sleeping together.... pissed Nancy off so she wrote this as a dig to them! Now if you listen to it again it'll make more sense
You want a kick ass Female Vocalist, well you need to hear Sass Jordan's Pissin' Down. She played Janis Joplin on stage in NYC. She was only one of double digit kick a$$ Female Vocalists fronting Canadian Bands in the 70's-90's.
Folks, no offense but I have watched about 6 of your reactions on songs and in each one you both seem bored to death. No, you don't have to sing and dance throughout the videos, but a little more emotion would help. Just watch other couples who do these reaction videos. Just trying to help.
After you watch 2 or 3 more Heart songs/vids, you gotta see their Kennedy Center cover of “Stairway to Heaven.” Tough to cover the (arguably) greatest rock song, esp. with the original band and Obama in the audience, but they kill it.
One of the greatest women Rock vocalist
Yes we are seeing that
Definitely should see them sing stairway to heaven if you havent
Perfect rock voice. No autotune. She is amazing
That’s what we look for, glad you saw that too.
Clearly one of the best ever.
Great reaction - them dam Wilson sisters Ann and Nancy.....Heart was a great group in 70s and 80s.
LOVE ALIVE.
Heart's catalog is jam-packed with good songs.
2 of them are --- Straight On and Even It Up .
Thanks, Tommy!
Huge fan of Heart, love Ann's voice she is amazing.
Rocking to this one at 10 years young!
Oh my girls! Saw them twice in concert and they never disappoint!

❤️ Many young girls, like I was then, looked up to these sisters of rock as inspirational. They broke through a man's world of hard rock . They rock💯
That's cool

Anne Wilson. One of the best singers in rock n roll. Great song, loved watching with you guys.
My favorite Heart song! Great job guys!
Thank you.
Heart's "softer side" is best displayed in the song "Dog and Butterfly". You won't be disappointed.
Beautiful women, and her sister! Hell of musicians!
Love the reaction

A highly underrated band. Serious chops though!
This song was on their "Little Queen" album released in May of 1977. I saw them that August and they were amazing.
Yes, I love that they didn't pause!!!!!
Thank you just trying to give you what you want.
