Be nice if Joao and Jack were at a big barrel wave. For Ethan trestles is pretty good but he looks hot and cold a little. JBay better suits him. Griffin looks like he really could battle filipe this week. His turns and airs are a bit more powerful. Obviously not as fast as filipe or as radical move to move but on the bigger waves he’s looking surely competitive.
I think Griffin wins and Joao doesn’t go as far because as radical as his turns are he has the weakest air game of the final five and jack has probably the second BIGGEST airs maybe not the most consistent but he could pull out huge scores where as joao will probably have a pretty straight forward heat score of maybe 15.00
I like this take. I am still picking Joao on my Fantasy team, but you make a solid argument for Jack. Look, I like Jack, I want to see him win, I'm just not convinced this is his wave. Like I said in the video, I sure wish this was a barreling ledge!
The fantasy reselect rules this year don't seem to reward those who pick right from the get go, and put more emphasis on the tie breaker? I guess it keeps everyone in the fantasy game for longer...
Is it so out of the question to have more flex on scheduling rhe comp? This swell peak thing is such a big factor in the sport. Seems the only sport that doesn't guarantee optimal conditions.
there is a chance that they just run it the first day regardless of how good it is like they did last year. But in the waiting period there is one good day so hoping to see then wait it out
Completely agree. I talked about this in the Tahiti video (in the surf forecast section). They need more waiting period flexibility for events. Relying on luck is not working and the WSL completely missed this season. EVERY EVENT had swell BEFORE and sometimes after the waiting period. I think this is the biggest issue they have, ahead of 'The Cut' and 'Finals Day' controversies (although judging is up there too, but will always be questioned, Lol). Best surfers/Best waves? Nope, not even close.
@@calebm2805 I think they will wait it out. If they run in those first few days I think even the surfers will protest. There is definitely a swell forecasted. Let's hope it is at least head high with some push! We need a new Finals venue. My vote is Mentawais, but, unfortunately, I don't think they can afford it...Ha!
Love this! The warm up sessions have been amazing too. Thanks for the content OSD 🔥
Thanks for watching!
Go Griff!
this is why I watch Nathan Florence on the REAL dream wave tour
Great show
Thanks Bryan..I appreciate you being part of the channel!

If Griff and Filipe are the Final its going to be nuts

I’m with you surf dad. My heart goes to Griff but Filipe takes the championship. Carissa Moore for the women… but go Caitlin and Caroline!
After watching them surf this week, Griff and Caity and Caroline have better chances than I thought..
@@OldSurfDad GO GRIFF!!!!! I’ll change my surf league pick to reflect my mojo

Totally agree..and I think you're right it keeps peeps engaged longer.
Never been a fan of the new final system. How can you lead the whole year in points and wins but yet loose to a lower seed.
Consider this....Carissa would have 7 titles right now.
