The American (technically Canadian) M4A5 Ram is a heavily modified M3 Lee medium tank that strongly resembles an M4 Sherman that was hit with an ugly stick. It has very trolly armor for a medium tank and a quick-firing 57mm cannon instead of the ubiquitous 75mm. It may not have looks going for it, but it certainly is a very good vehicle.

I refuse to believe anyone actually considers bushes as purely cosmetic
I do, because the bushes i got for free are pure trash, they don't work for most tanks
My reasoning to NOT consider bushes as cosmetics outside of giving in-game advantages is the fact I can't turn them off with the in-game function to disable cosmetics.
The people who argue that bushes are purely cosmetic are also the same people who say there shouldn't be a cosmetic toggle for them.
Depends on placement. I use them as cosmetics :)
I just wish I could get some camo netting for my tanks, I think it would look better than the bushes.

It also abso-fucking-lutely had APHE but the British used a different naming convention so Gaijin refuse to put it in... even when the Canadians are using it XD

@@MacMeaties The only reference to APHE I can find for the 6 pounder is in American service, with the APC Shell M86, though the British did have a APDS round for the 6 pounder with enough pen to punch through the front of a Tiger and I've heard it could frontally pen the Panther as well. It just wasn't very accurate when using it.
The British just didn't find any value in APHE, because in reality if your tank gets hit and half the crew dies, the rest of the crew tends to abandon the tank because humans have this funny tendency to want to live.

On the tanks that it has APHE on it does great. I think that just goes to show how exaggerated the effects of APHE are in game; or how underpowered solid AP is...

@@dabeardoesstuff5412 It is absurd how well it bounces and Gaijin's shells, it's more survivable in my experience than an actual Sherman. Most people don't know about the Off Button either: the driver view port. Like 20mm of armor there, something silly like that.

I love how in the opening meme, it’s implied that the physical ugliness of the m4a5 is not what makes it repulsive to the regular Sherman, but rather the fact that it’s Canadian.

@@gippo8184 it used to have an APHE shell with a ridiculous amount of pen but they sadly removed it.
Did they change something on it? I started meeting it much more often recently. Like... I remember seeing some of them like once or twice since 2016 when I started playing and suddenly I met at least 3 of them in two weeks.
I'd love to see the Brummbär, mortar tanks are really fun.

Im here to recommend the ASU-57, very sneaky. And if you want to become invisible to the german main eye you can put bushes on it!
And if your round bounces or not pens you die either becuse of the wait or the enemies get brrathing distance close to you
Bushed up ASU-57 can be alot of silliness. I've sat on the side of the road and had people drive not 3 meters from me and not spot me.

Actually it seems there is a bug where both the rear and frontal ammo racks of the stug III get filled regardless of how much ammo you carry. Or at least iit's how it appears for the italian tree Stug III
The ammoracks on the StuGs don't have individual shells, there's 3 of them and they're all just big blocks. So carry as much as you want lol it won't make much of a difference.
@@reinbeers5322 I thought I was losing my mind with the ammo racks in the Italian StuG, doesn't matter if I only brought quarter of the capacity or full it would always fill the entire rack. Glad it's not only me lmao.
I'd love to see the ASU-85. Rangefinder is really useful, armor can surprisingly save you sometimes, and has scouting.
The ASU-85 also has HEATFS and NVD
I was literally held up in a T80b at one point by a locust covered in so many bushes that I couldn't tell what it was
Another possible solution to the bush problem is to put the sight on the actual gunner sight instead of the end of the barrel. The feature is already in the game, so its very practical and only minor adjustments need to be made. This is also one of the reasons why almost no one bushed up their tanks in simulator mode, because putting bushes would also obstruct the sight.
But not everyone wants to learn or get used to the offset that exists in the gunner sight, that's why it's only in sim mode.
All that is needed is a cometic toggle for bushes.

The Ram II can be quite intimidating for newer players. I still remember me in my Pz.III J failing to pen one as it was bullying another one of my teammates. I eventually switched to APCR and after like 10+ failed shots I finally managed to pen somewhere and killed it. It's a really tricky armor profile that's pretty hard to get through.
Btw while I'm here and before I forget, I'd like to ask for a 2nd time if you'd like to check out the Crusader III and see how you do with it, since you like light tanks and heard you say low tier is generally more fun to play,which I can see why lol

NGL, I fuckin' love the M4A5. It's armor has saved me so many times, people sometimes just don't know where to shoot in my experience, especially when they're panicking. One of my best purchases, and as for purchases, I really dislike bushing, and I have never done it. I have a hard time spotting things in games in general, and even the premium Leopard 2's camo net fucks with me so much... I have no respect for bushes, it makes my life a living hell. I don't know if it's a problem with me, but spotting things and making out enemies in games like War Thunder or Insurgency have always been a huge problem for me. I wouldn't feel good if I got kills because of fuckin' bushes. Though anything to make the grind less unbearable, right? Yeah nah, not for me fam, I hate the freemium monetization system and I quit War Thunder many times wishing that the game was pay to play instead of the scummy free to play bullshittery that we have right now, even if it obviously will never happen.
Also as for kill stealing, honestly, most of the time I get accused of kill stealing, I'm trying to bloody protect my teammates and I don't know just how badly the enemy is damaged

Yes it's ugly, yes the shells are very limited. But you can at least choose between capped and blunt headed shot depending on range. Like you said, decent armour and mobility allows it to shine in more situations than one might think

Play the L-62 Swedish Anti Air at 2.7 (can even uptier it and still performs well), thing is OP as hell.
Seems all the Swedish SPAA are monsters, esp that Anti or whatever it's called. Not to good against actual planes as the traverse, and ballistics are pretty slow, but against tanks... they often single shot.
It would be very cool if you could play the AFT09. Your videos on ATGM vehicles are always my favourite.

Think you should play the AMX-13 DCA. You’ve done the 8.3 big brother of it, but I think it’s 4.3 counterpart deserves a video. 94mm of pen with a fast reload, and a turret traverse that was recently buffed that puts it on par with most top tier aa movement speeds

From my experience, his barrel was actually red, but if the barrel is not destroyed and you didn’t hit it again, the next shot will not show that damage.
The type 75 sph would be cool to see, also bushes can help on tight forest maps, so I think players should have a dedicated camo with bushes for the appropriate map.

Perfect opportunity to take out the RAM 3.7 inch next 👀Mutilated chassis of this with a great gun. I do reliably well in it since (despite being solid shot) the cannon is like a punt gun. Reliably shreds everything behind the plate it pens
shame the QF 3.7" Ram is nothing like in reality, all kinds of issues with it. (not to mention the m4a5 ram itself has various issues)

You should play the Bt7a at 10.0 using the aphebc with 90mm of pen basically enough to pen the sides of mbts and enough he filler to destroy most ifvs quickly.
It’s also a fast and small and gets scouting.
You should play the strv 42 Delat torn, it has a ridiculously fast autoloader and decently mobile.

Something like the VCC-80/30, DF-105 or JaPz.K A2 (or whatever the French tech tree equivalent is) would be pretty good candidates imo, I think said vehicles are a bit obscure, while they are more "modern" than lower BR vehicles I don't think they get enough attention and people don't know much about them. Love your stuff Spook, keep on trucking~! C:
The Hungarian Turan would be a great tank to try. Very fast and good heat shell for its BR.
Despite Spookstons somewhat mixed reputation his humor and editing has grown on me a lot and I cant help but watch when a new Video comes out

Why would they say they don't give an advantage and why would it be bad if they did, which they do? They are cheap as dirt AND you can get them for free. Stop whining.
@@filonin2 they are literally saying that bushes shouldnt be used as a pseudo cheat to make your tank harder to hit. And that since by Gaijins logic they dont give an advantage, they should be able to be turned off.
And this is completely fair and valid. It is the lowest bar of sweaty gaming to cover your tank in bushes to hide any weakspots.

It feels like the amount of Spongebob jokes in these videos has slowly been going up, and I'm all for it
The biggest issue with bushes is that they are invisible for the user when in the shooter view. It's like putting a wall in front of you that obscures everyone else, but not you.
Bushes should:
1. Be visble in gun view.
2. Be destructable.
3. (Optional and extereme measure) Blocking optics and other compontents could hinder the tank. Such as blocking the radiator reduces engine power, blocking the driver view makes him less repsonsive to input, blocking the hatches increases repair time. Etc.
Bushes does block the view of the gunner in simulation. I do use bush but usually in a way that wont block my gunner view (so my bushes are actually used as camo and not to hide weak spots).

I also dislike bushes, in one video from Oddbawz he met an T54 and he said that even he would have a hard time taking that out.
So someone like me who have played the game for far less time would not have a chance.
6:38 I had the same thing happen to me with the ladders on the huge cranes that load the shipping containers at C on Cargo Port. Me and a guy both whiffed like 4 shots each because the hitbox for the cylindrical cage around the ladder goes all the way to the ground instead of stopping like 10 feet before it like the model actually shows you.
If you haven’t already, it would be cool to see the ISU-122S because that thing is pretty good

You should try the Mars-15 and the ST-A3, one is good the other, not so much. Also your videos helped me to realize the cancerous nature of bushes, so I got rid of my bushes, thank you.
The hit boxes on Berlin specifically make me go ballistic. I cannot count how many times they've gotten me killed.

Finally a Canadian vehicle :D but you might have seen the Leopard C2A1 Mexus, aka the Leopard made for Canada, which we no longer use, it's thick, armor is decent but it would be an interesting leopard for a video.
I love the Ram, it's 6 pdr gun can reliably pen KVs and has a fast reload so I'll use it to hunt them since the Sherman in my 4.0 line struggles to pen KVs
The lack of HE is a problem and no .50 cal so soft targets are more of a challenge. The multiple .30 calls are useful, especially the one in the mini-turret which can shoot at really high angles so I've also had successes against aircraft.
The armour is trolly, especially when people treat it like a Sherman and shoot the usual weak points. And covering it with weeds hides the actual weak points and makes it more likely they'll mistake it for an early Sherman.
It's my most used and favorite premium tank overall. If only it was rank 3...
I think that some low level Italian tanks could be great fun. Just the definition of rat tanks and meme cannons.
The Sherman at 3.7 is still a monster. At a full downtier you might even see people still dragging along Panzer II's. Very fun.

Finally got a premium, the T29 and I realized something that it's basically the T34 but it has the better shell type: APHE, very fun hearing the clunk of the T29s gun when it pens a Tiger 2s gun mantle lol.
