The American M4/T26 is a new medium tank added to the US tech tree. It's basically just an M26 Pershing turret on an M4 Sherman chassis. It has a fat head, but it's really good. I wish Gaijin would add more stuff like this.

I think it's alright tbh, panther has a miniscully better pen, but a small fraction of the explosive filler, no turret traverse, and non-existent side armor. This thing has bad armor all around, but it gets a .50 cal, decent traverse, and a fat 140 grams of filler
I love that even after thousands of hours in this game, spook still gets happy like a child when a tank explodes like a nuke and pulverizing its crew to ashes

You should do the IS2(1944) since its lfp was fixed from 24 degrees to 30 degrees making it immune to the short 88mm, M26 and T26E5 90mm and the panthers 75mm(partially) and the american and british 76mm and it recieved BDsh smoke grenades.
Now it will go up to 6.7 and have the same problem as tiger 2 ... so basically, it's armour just got a huge neft as it will be fighting tanks with HEAT.
@@wifi_soldier5076 i doubt that since its turret is really weak the turret cheeks and coupola are too weak for the IS2(1944) to be moved up to 6.7 also the reload is too long even with an ace crew and its still weak to the long 88mm gun and the 90mm guns of the T32 and T26E1-1

@@wifi_soldier5076Nah the armor is still way worse, you can pen the turret with 115-140mm of pen reliable, they not comparable, any pen to the lower plate is a one 1 hit kill, It doesn't have a front transmission to protect It against APHE penetrations, and the interior is very cramped.
The IS-2 (1944) already had a 30° LFP. It was the IS-1 and 2 that had 24° LFPs.
The IS-2 (1944) though got a new armor scheme and with it the LFP is now 130 mm thick even even though there was no bug report for it. *That* is why it stop the rounds you mentioned.
The Sherman and the Pershing actualy have the same turret ring.
So all it takes to make a M4/T26 is pull the sherman turret out, put the Pershing turret in and do some rewirering.
This thing would have been mass produced too but the ordinance department expected the Pershing to enter service alot sooner then it turned out to do. Defenetly one of those "what if" vehicles of ww2.
Would make the sherman a lot heavier, carry less ammo, and topple a lot more than the regular turret though.

Funny enough, i just destroyed one at 7.3
You can kill it with apds, but it wasn’t really effective

The M60A1 AOS is a pretty decent MBT for it's br, good br, good gun, decent armor. Decent mobility.

@@casematecardinal I'm dead serious, every time I play my M60A1 it's a blast I have no problems with it, I never feel that I'm at a disadvantage unless it's a full uptier and even then things like the T-64A 1971 are no problems for me.

This tank seems to be pretty decent for the 6.0 BR, especially by the way your were taking out the German tanks 😂. However the 5.7 makes sense since 7.0 is a little too much BR for it, agreed. Good vid :)
a tiger E can do pretty much everything this sherman does but better , makes 0 sence for it to be so high in BR , if it had a stabilizer sure i could understand but it dont

@@LiterallyTheByn Oh, then I guess the Tiger 1 is okay at 6.0 too then. Might as well move that up too. But really, Spookston made a perfect argument as to why it should be 5.7 and you're a dope. Would you cry if the Tiger 1 was at 6.0? I bet you wooould. It's not our fault German tanks are chronically low in BR compared to other nations.
In all sincerity though, the fact the Panther G is 5.7 and this is 6.0 doesn't make much sense nor does the M4A3 with STAB at 5.7 and this at 6.0. Spookston made the argument, it trades the STAB for a slight higher pen, significantly better post pen gun and round. It's a sidegrade to a tank at 5.7 which should probably be at 5.3 with the M4A2. If the M4A3 was ever moved to 5.3 then I would advocate this tank to stay at 5.7 in this alternate universe I have created.
American tanks are pretty standardly brought in at a too high BR rank. Cough, cough the T55E1 entered at 5.0 while the Pak Puma was sitting at 3.3, coughs, cough.
@@LiterallyTheByn this thing trades the stabilizer the m4a3 76 has with a better turret armor and better gun, so i'd say 5.7 is fine, also the m36b2 is at 5.7 and this thing is like that except it has better armor but no heat

The American 90mm is definitely underapreciated. It's pretty punchy, especially if you know where to shoot.
1:44 I’ve also noticed with the new crew voices that they will call out the specific model of a tank you’ve scouted. I’ve noticed it with T34s but I don’t know how many unique ones they’ve implemented.
so far I've noticed they call out T-64's, T-80's and Leopards. There is probably more though.

I've been enjoying the M4/T26. Using it more like a TD than a medium seems to get me the best results.

Hey Spook, you should play the Semovente 75/46 M43. It's a deeply overshadowed italian tank destroyer which can deliver an heavy punch but it's deeply ignored the potential it has.

Do you know what else is a cool hybrid? The combination of the Saurer APC and the FL-12 turret from the AMX-13 105. If such a tank existed in War Thunder it would be cool to see you play it (Day 48).

Huge tip for Spooker and everyone out there; use Cruise Control, it forces your vehicle to drive at the max possible speed of the specific gear. Helps out a lot when driving up a hill.
I've never tried that tbh. I usually use Cruise Control when I am in a really slow tank on a huge map.
Mainly when I play the Maus on my dad's account, because sadly I don't have it.

AGREED!!! such a good quality of life improvement, even for just driving at the start of a match when you would normally be holding W for near 2 minutes. just saves your hands from cramping after playing for a long time
A lot of vehicles need a high driver skill to get any value out of CC. Better off using the default CC binds as manual gear selection binds, instead. For WWII era stuff with stabilizers 2nd gear max RPM is usually the threshold where the stabilizer is still good enough to get shots on target and being able to hold that manually and pick the optimal gear for inclines can wring a lot of performance out of each spawn
i ALWAYS use cruise control, im lazy
but you down want to be the highest gear possible for climbing hills, lower is better

5:42 it only damaged the turret ring because the turret ring armor of a Tiger I is 164 mm thick in total, it is 82 mm of the turret + 82 mm neck armor, so the 90mm round barely had enough penetration to only damage the horizontal mechanism

Again, for the sake of consistency I recommend a showcase of the WW2 Puma, such wonderful mobility and a good gun at the cost of armor that even basic mgs can sidepen at short range.

you can actually pen the lower glacis plate of the IS-2 (the spot where the transmission is supposed to be because it's transmission is in the rear)
I wish you would play the fv4202, it's got the same gun as the charioteer but with armor, it's also a rarity to see dispite it having an amazing gun for it's br and it having a slow speed stabilizer, it is slower than the centurion by a little meaning it basically has a full stabilizer at 7.0
