@@NotsolonlelyPanther With AP only rounds this limits you to either shooting out their barrel or breach, kill the gunner or take out the enemy in one shot. I am almost to the chieftain yet and's been a pain not being able to go back around the corner I came from to reload. No fun.

Comet 1 with the 3kmh reverse gear has to be the most frustrating thing. This tank could be really good if it wasn't for that truly dreadful reverse, it's practically remaining immobile. You come around a corner, penetrate a Panther and kill 2 crew, then try to reverse and get miserably killed because of the worst reverse in the entire game. Man I hate this thing!
Comet simply lacks mobility. His main ordinance with soft suspension requires you to play carefully avoiding direct confrontation with anyone. However, 33.5 mass gives you weight/power ratio of about 18 which is not bad, but for a thing which looses a ton of speed on every turn, with no armor and with not so reliable ammo. Comet is such an unforgiving vehicle better play Sherman Firefly if you would like to grind the british tech tree.
This is why you dont shoot the damn hulls of tanks with APDS, think bout it as a single - module - taking shot, you gotta shoot the gunner first, then commander and loader and then shoot the gunner one more time when they replace the dead gunner with fresh meat
AP in this game will either take out every single component in the tank, pop the turret off, and eviscerate the crew or take out the radiator. There is literally no in between.
Bit of advice for everyone complaining about the Comet. Rather than sitting in a tank’s view like a deer in the headlights of an oncoming car everytime your shot doesn’t kill the gunner cause you didn’t aim, drive ✨forward✨

I swear any British vehicle is like 200% more likely to die to artillery in War Thunder man. Even in other nations hands the British vehicles still die to artillery constantly compared to every other nations vehicles and sometimes even open tops and that says something about them lol.
Did they broke the comet or something? I remember it being pretty good. Its plagued by its reverse speed but generally it was ok and it gave me mad satisfaction to ufp panthers
it utter garbage tbh. i used to have my main moneydeck on british 5.3 or 5.7 (when gaijin changed it again just to go back to 5.3...) and they have become so very bad. reverse is pretty much not there but the sabot used to spall a lot more. especially lowtier sabot and HeatFS is unplayable. i scrapped the deck. even bought the premium comet when it came out.. shame about the money

Yes at least the panther has great frontal armor for its 3km reverse speed
If youre shooting on a hill you can do a wiggle by holding left and then right and you will reverse faster than if you hold down reverse

Sabot spalling is very inconsistent, Panther ufp is immune to the sabot beyond 500 meters or so, i'd say it's lost performance
