Just curious how much did this rebuild cost I pulled one from a better running truck only to see that it needs all new bearings so now I have two motors and one needs rebuilt
did you put any gasket sealer on the oil pan rear rubber seal ... ? It's just that half round rubber ring with the groves in it ... ? I want give it just a wee bit ...
Hi,how did you take off the timing cover? I've removed all the obvious screws and bolts, even the one behind the oil pump.is there anything I'm missing? I've even removed the two front oil pan bolts.anything else I missed? Please help, thanks
That cover does not come off easily. I had to replace the cover after it was removed. The damn thing was impossible. Just be sure to avoid doing any damage to the block let the cover take the damage it's not terribly expensive from what I can remember.
@@ALLMUSCLEUSA yep, finally got it off yesterday..had no choice but to cut one of the stud holes with a sawzall..need to find a new one, which is just as hard as it was to get it off..know where I could get a cover for a 4.2L Ford engine 1997 van for cheap? Lol
I'm doing same right now 2003 F150 4.2 new pistons.. bearings most everything new even the starter, AC compressor and alternator ....has 244K miles... what are the head bolt torque specs ?
Hello I like what you did with the motor …1999 ford f-150 4.2 …Can anyone please tell me what on the Cylinder head bolts specs on the 4 step out of 6 step you have to loosen the bolt 3 turn to do the 5 step and tighten the bolts again??? Step 1 -168 in-lbs Step 2 -29 Step 3-36 Step 4 😕loosen 3 turn (Do not loosen all the bolts at the same time, from this point on work o one bolt at the time) Step 5 🤷🏽 Long bolts 30 to 36 Short bolts 15 to 22 Step 6 Tighten and additional 175 to 185 -degrees …. Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of step 4??????? I’m loos here any help will be much appreciated
At what degree did you install the camshaft synchronizer? I have the alignment tool but I don’t know what degree to put it at. And the engine is at Top dead Center.
Soy Carlos y quiero. Que por favor me ayude en Dos consultas el motor for 4,2 es de botadores hidraulicos y la Otra es yque milecimas yeva de calibration las valvulas
Am I the only one here none mechanic fascinated by engine builds

My 2002 has 202k runs pretty good minor rear main seal leak but it runs pretty smooth
Nice job, she out to be good for another 100,000+
maybe longer with improved parts
Nice shop!!!
Good motor
Certainly is a lot cleaner than when you pulled it out !!! LOL
So what happened did you finish the job? I don't see any video of the truck running...

Do you know where to find performance parts or if they do make parts

i have the same motor and i found a broken coolant block sender and it was snapped in half
I screwed up my head gaskets and now I don't know how they go back on they are not marked been nice to of seen the other side when he put it on

nice videos but you dont show how to torque the heads pistons and all that.
It's not a tutorial homie
@@gokblok suck him lol
How do u remove the compressor hoses under pressure can I take the compressor off with out removing the hoses
Yes, take off the compressor and leave all hoses in place. You'll have enough slack to put it off to one side.
That's what I did too.
Not a rebuild video at all*
*not a tutorial
What type of break-in oil did you use?
