This crowd doesn't look like they realize they're seeing one of the greatest bands in the world.
i think they're being ironic.
@@protronix About what?
@@JonathanRodriguez-il7xs What appears to be a group of youngsters not enjoying themselves, may be in fact a group of youngsters actually enjoying themselves.
@@protronix this is wisdom. this is also probably the next car seat headrest lyric.
"I get signs from the audience" 😂😂
Nice pfp
Ethan was one hell of a bass player before Seth joined
This version of Times to Die is to die for.
This crowd was blessed by this set, and, maybe it's just the Classic KEXP Mixing guarantee, this performance. Ethan on bass has such energy and Will poured out some of those lyrics.
Love to see Cheryl grooving out on the sidelines haha what a hero
I swear Cheryl is one of the biggest CSH fans ever haha
she's so fucking cute
the bass player is goin fuckin hard
yes he's fucking crazy
Just watching him is giving me carpal tunnel! He needs to play with his wrist, not his arm.
"indie good"
And yet he is inaudible...which is good.
+ES295 fuck up
Fill In the Blank: 0:00
Vincent: 4:57
Times to Die: 10:59
1937 State Park: 18:13
Unforgiving Girl (She's Not An): 22:30
God bless
A real human being
And a real hero!
wish the bass was louder
yeah I can't even hear the bass at all
haha?
+Eric Towne yeah this was sick
I'm on PC attached to a stereo with an AUX cable and the bass is perfectly audible.
+I am the Lizard King, I can do anything the tone kinda sucks and it should be louder though
rip will's distortion pedal
CSH as a 3pc is so raw and driving. Captures the feel of some of the early recordings.
Blimey. I've bought (and loved) the last two albums and this is the time I've seen him. Not since Beck I have got the
voice-to-the-face thing so wrong.
I didnt know mclovin had is own solo project
Daniel Rock hahahaha
will toledo is the greatest lyricist who ever lived
Isaac Brock. but yeah he is very good
that belongs to bob Dylan
@@123joelad456 No, never
For the first five minutes, I was like this crowd is standing completely still.. wth
i was there and it was a pretty bad prospect
me a friend and a couple others started a small mosh pit but it didn't seem like anybody was really dancing for most the show
it was free so there's that but i couldn't tell you why else honestly
every show i've been to in my years here have been amazing
Welcome to Seattle.
Lol yeah I was thinking maybe they aren't allowed to dance because kexp ppl were filming but if not they're lame
+Kevin Rachman Seattle likes bubbles???
*"It feels like it's been out forever, but... not yet!"*
it seems like they gave Will a bunch of sleeping pills and just dragged him on stage
Bassist is going ham with those downstrokes
Sounding great on the new stuff. Enjoying the new album so much.
There is hope for the future - the best I've heard in a long time !!
I think I may have gone gay for Will. :o
Same
Fucking hell, that was great! Smart, funny, passionate, and monsterously tight. Had I been there I'd have kicked Mr. Hands-in-pockets-pat-pat-applause in the back of the knees and danced over his prostrate, apathetic ass. Mind you, I turn fifty day after tomorrow so I'd end up spraining something, still, it'd be totally worth it. This is the sort of music that reminds me that my soul isn't yet entirely made of cinder and ash. Thanks KEXP and thanks Car Seat Headrest.
I forgot about this band I used to listen to them so much
I've been waiting for this.
Absolutely addicted to Car Seat Headrest, but definitely needs that second guitar to get that fuller sound, or at least a louder Bass to balance Will's much high-end sounding distortion, Not a lot of thickness in the instruments for Wills scratchy vocals
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
follow the bass player on twitter @OhNoEthanIves he deserves more
I wish the bass was louder :(
Holy shit! I like a lot this band.
Kind of a Velvet Underground vibe actually. I can appreciate this music. It definitely has a stripped-down, indie vibe to it, which is in the tradition of Sonic Youth, Pavement, maybe even this little band called Possum Dixon that some of you may remember. Not bad.
If you don't think the sound quality is good enough you don't have your volume up high enough
this sounds so much better than the album version.
He kinda looks like a male Bob's Burgers Tina.
Branson Morgan I think you mean he screeches like her
Powerful bass 👍🏻
I fucking love this band 🙌🏼
it's so cooooooool
Rockin my cubicle
I know a fantastic local band here in Illinois who played on VH1's Make a Band Famous called the spectators, if KEXP could get them in for a performance I think the viewers would really enjoy their sound
sorry, name is Spectators, minus "the"
This is pretty good
i wish they’d have played vincent noisier but still an awesome show!
Ethan nearly swallowed the mike at the end omfg
BA BOP
who knew Mclovin would go on to front a band - and a FUCKING great band no less!
What an awful audience.
It's great seeing Ethan on bass duties lol
i love you
Amazing even with the omissions and censoring.
joy division and sonic youth had a kid
No.
+oOShutts97 yes.
yr a fuckin joke lmao
lmao if anyone's a pussy it's this fuckin nerd singin
+Doug Phrishpreed. Why don't you pick up a guitar and try to get 40,000 views? Doubt you have the courage to put yourself out there like that
1937 state park isn't the same without the keyboard part :C
I approve
nice tshirt! BBC yoooo
27:41 hahaha!!
Oh dear.
lmao
Sounds a bit flat. The studio session would have worked better, I guess.
don't get out of the house much for live shows, do you?
You like jumping to conclusion, don't you?
yes
There's this live performance of theirs having 2 guitars instead of just will, sounds better.
Scott Pilgrim right here
!!!!
they should of played destroyed by hippie powers or connect the dots
Should've, not should of
Id love to know what that bass player is actually playing but it cant hear him
Sebasour Sr 2016
SAYIN'
The new Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers?
13:47 ba bop
Dinosaur Jr/Guided by Voices/Pavement
i love 25:10
So... McLovin' leads an indie rock band?
10:33 is funny af
These guys have a lot of buzz, but I really feel like there are other bands that deserve it more than this
Awww where's Drunk Drivers :(
how did the crowd not yell "stay the fuck down" at the appropriate time? disappointed.
Check out The Young Wild’s new single “Not a One” here : www.vevo.com/watch/the-young-wild/Not-a-One-(Official-Video)/USH5V1522517
You have no right to be depressed
But I do
Because I am old
And I know who Jonathan Richman is.
hi will toledo
somebody wake up the singer, i can't understand wtf he's mumbling
where are the f words in fill in the blank?
kexp might not be allowed to do explicit lyrics or something
f l i p i n g h e c k
9:17 🥵
00:00 - 00:28 SCOFF Nirvana.
Sounds kinda flat compared to studio versions, hope that changes in march when i see them live
Sounds muffled.
after you win your grammy don't start mixing that jangly feedbacky sound out.............
mc lovin :D
Wth with the crowd
censoring can...STAY THE FUCK DOWN!!
Sounds thin :/
No bueno!
Asian kung fu generation
man whoever did sound for this show should get fired though.
i do hate these timber of voices
Great band. Great record. Sound no good
Kinda reminds me of Ramones.
+Manny Man listen to Ramones I wanna be sedated you'll know why I kinda reminded it.
That crowd is weak
q wea mas mala xd
Sound isn't great. They sound like a 3rd rate Guided by Voices to me. Some interesting guitar lines but there is too much going on in the songs for my taste. The vocals are miles out of key at times. Too much hype from the internet trying to tout them as saviours of indie rock.
it was actually a pretty good show! the frontman's distortion pedal died at the beginning so the guitar tone is in shambles here but i think it's pretty good music and they have some good energy
i'm not sure what you mean by out of key, the vocal lines are in key for the most part - sometimes off pitch but that's live shows
Yeah I know it's tough getting a good sound live. I listened to the album and I am still not convinced but may try to catch them live soon. I think they are ok but still not convinced of all the hype.
listen to their older stuff like Monomania
Listening to this dude try to sing is like listening to Lil Wayne trying to play guitar. I've listened to a ridiculous amount of music that contains questionable vocal ability throughout the years, but this has got to be one the worst live vocals that I've ever heard from a band that's getting buzz.
What the fuck is that noise that he makes around 1:38
Who do you think is a good singer then?
its called punk rock man.
Are you serious? I love will's vocals
namccann215 i think you're missing the point of the music
the bassist is great. the drummer is good. the guitar and vocals are boring as fucking hell. which is funny cause he's the bandleader
its better recored and his voice is something u kinda got to in to
Myles Seber yeah slight improvement in the studio version, but i honestly never will get into his voice. not to be stubborn, but if i want to hear his voice i'll ask a pubescent 13 year old how his day was.
+rush2795 ya its a voice a lot of people won't like. but I love it I can feel his voice crack and makes it feel passionate or something
They sound like umpteenth house party bands I heard growing up. Fun and energetic, just not memorable.
***** i've seen many bad sets then. kexp, this one, studio recordings, ....
Pretty meh for a band that is getting so much buzz to be honest. Perfectly passable, middle of the road indie band (with quirky name, glasses, etc.) with songs you've all but forgotten about before you make it home from the show.
Could you be any more condescending? Obviously they have a pretty limited live set-up but the songs on the album are filled out much better with much tighter mixing and production. Really makes all the difference.
plus his lyricism is top quality, he was born to be some kind of writer at least.
Actually I prefer their live sound. In studio it all seems so much overproduced.
ToD is already one of my all time favourite albums. The hype is fully deserved
pfft. speak for yourself!
Very mediocre. The bassist is the best part of this.
Another vapid band..pounding out over-used riffs with forgettable vocals and zero innovation. Keep trying..and wait until you have it right. TODAY..ANYONE can form a band -practice for 6 months and go "public". Everything is RELATIVE and why would anyone listen to this over authentic/talented/innovative music from prior years??? Answer-just because its not from prior years....
You're autistic, this guy's been playing music for 15 years.
