@@lantarsroar87 They were on their very first tour, we all sat down on the floor talking amongst ourselves because they were that bad live. Magnum blew them outta the state.
Motley was underwhelming as they promised us that they were going to play some deep tracks but lied like their farewell tour and same setlist as their last tour but even that I thought Def Leppard was bad and BORING. I swear I thought I was in a Bob Dylan concert. This was the only concert in my whole life that i fell asleep to. Had it not been for Poison who blew these two bands away, this would’ve been the worst concert i’ve ever been to.
Vince just needs to come out and say, guys, you know my voice is shot, so please, sing along with me, help me out guys! And get the crowd to carry the vocals anyway. More fun anyway.
Holy cow that is a night and day difference from the most recent Neil performances from this past year... bravo, m'dude. He looks like he took this tour seriously, and no doubt the added pressure of not wanting to mess this up coming from sharing the stage with Leppard, who've earned a reputation for having a very high-level live game, kicked his ass in a good way...
Goosebumps!!! Love the Crue. They played this song for us on the plane ride back to Germany when we finally left. June 19, 1991. Prost to all my brothers from 4-67 Armor Battalion, 3d Armor Division. Friedberg, GE.
11:43 can we just appreciate the fact that this dude is probably almost 50 and he's jumping barriers like he's 20, shirt off, rockin' at a motley and def leppard concert. That dude's a legend in my book.
So the back story there, is that dude was there with his son (can be seen still seated behind him, watching). Rather than climb down to go to the concessions, he decided to jump down. What isn't shown is that security immediately grabbed him and ushered him out of the stadium, leaving his son there in the audience alone.
They are coming to Hannover/Germany in June 2023. I am really thinking over goin' there ....or not! I have never seen Leppard live on stage - whenever they have performed live in germany for the last time. Must have been decades ago. The setlist is okay but as many many other real headbangers i left them behind in the early 1980ies - after they released the Hysteria album. We were waiting for many many years after Pyromania was the last "real" Leppard album like we used to know and love them. There was this accident and the years went by - and then there was....Hysteria. This is never forgotten. It was not listenable for us crazy Metalheads back then. But seeing them only one time would be cool anyway. Mötley Crüe are as crazy and heavy and cool suckers as they have always been. You can't do anything wrong visiting one of their gigs. I miss "Red Hot" - but the setlist is really cool. Greetings from germany.
There are many comments on here about its nowhere near what these bands used to be like and people were very lucky they go to see them in their prime. Of course you were. No Problem. However its life, people get old and vocals deteriorate. Its the same for lots of 80's rock bands now though. They're not choir boys, they stress their vocals on every track they sing. Axls vocals don't carry any longer than 40 mins on a Guns tour (went in July), Jon Bon Jovis vocal has been on a slide for years now, However some, especially those who weren't around still want to experience something they perhaps never could. These bands were before their time and they grew up listening to dads records and CD's as kids. They now have an opportunity that we never thought they would get. So I for one am excited my son is old enough now that I can take him to see Motley Crue and Def Leppard this year. It will be his first ever gig and at Wembley Stadium London so its a big thing. Hes aware that its not going to sound like when they were in their prime or off a record/CD but he doesn't care. He's looking forward to the live experience, seeing a couple of bands he loves that were around 30 years before he was even born. I never had the opportunity myself only being a youngster at the time, let alone him. This is his first LIVE concert he will be going to and what a great couple of bands for that when there's so much crap around in the music industry these days. He will never forget it, as I'm sure you will all remember your first gigs you ever went to. Would be interesting to know what your first gig experiences were... Cant wait till July 1st
This is the conversation Vince should have had before the tour. Vince: So tell me how you do it? Paul Stanley: Do what? Vince: Sing to a backing vocal track live Paul Stanley: Come over to my house and we can practice.
Mötley Crüe sounded good, maybe not so much with Vince. He comes off a bit like a karaoke signer who's had one too many. Def Leppard sounded great. I saw them back in 1988 with Tesla. I'd give my right arm too see them again!
TheCpufixer: I've been a Crue fan since the early days. I have seen them perform MANY times as the opening act and as the headliners. I can tell you with 100% accuracy that Vince Neil has ALWAYS struggled live. On the early Crue albums (the great albums) his recorded voice was extremely high pitched and to replicate that kind of pitch live is impossible. Not to mention, attempting to scream at that level for 30+ years does NOT do wonders for your vocal cords. In the present-day version of Motley Crue you have an overweight, 60 year old man who has abused his body for decades. He is constantly out of breath and unable to annunciate all the vocals without losing his breath. It's just reality. Not a knock because I think he was a great frontman. But he was NEVER a great vocalist like Rob Halford, Bruce Dickinson & Geoff Tate.
@@DiscoScottie not to me. I've watched every show so far and he is much improved. Hitting the lyrics, actually singing the lyrics, hitting more of the pacing and tones from the recordings of the songs. I've been involved with live performances and productions for over 35 years and comparing his solo shows from past few years to the focus he is applying to this new tour is night and day. I don't give a fuck what you or anyone else feels about shit but I know in Stadium Tour Facebook groups im am far from the only one noticing his improvements. More than 80% of those attending the shows agree he is doing better. It is obvious that he is trying to do better and I think it will only improve as tour continues.
