Hi Ali, we always need 'be' with gerund forms. Since 'gonna' is the shortened form of 'going to', we need 'You are gonna be...'. Hope this is useful for you!
I found your lesson in the nick of time, it's so useful to me, this is a lesson I have been looking about for a long time. Thank you very much teachers.
(0:10) "The Worcestershire rural brewery queue is the sixth longest in the wold." When I watch this video 12 times-one try for every word-I think I'll be able to pronounce this tongue twister correctly.
Hello everyone, i'm studying English but i have never spoken to anyone. So if there's some one who can help me to improve my prononciation or if you know where i can find someone, i would be grateful. Thank you.
It takes practice! Be patient with yourself. We have teachers who can help you with this pronunciation as well, if you like. You can find them on our website: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/about-our-online-english-teachers.

OOE team, can you do a video on the pronunciation of 'v' and 'w'? I get it right when I talk to myself. In real-life situations I go back to using both sounds as I did earlier. I can't make out the difference when native speakers speak in real-life situations either, compared to the videos by native English teachers describing their difference! Is the difference not that much when you speak fast? Kindly help!
Hi Krishna, the main difference between the two is the lip movement. The 'v' will place your top teeth on your bottom lip. The 'w' will make a round shape with the lips and no teeth placement on them. They sound similar in a sentence but you should still hear the difference caused by the teeth in the 'v'. Hopefully that helps a little bit. Maybe we can do a lesson on these in the future!
@@Oxfordonlineenglish1 Thank you OOE. I actually know the difference in 'v' and 'w' pronunciation as I have seen videos by native English teachers talking about the difference between these two sounds, and I can reproduce them correctly too. But when native English speakers speak English in real-life, I am unable to hear the difference for the most part, especially when 'v' comes in the middle of a word. When 'v' comes in the middle of a word, 'v' still sounds like 'w' to me when native speakers speak (I don't hear any teeth-on-lip sound; I have been trying so hard to hear that teeth-on-lip sound but not really successful). I am a reasonably advanced user of English; so that puts me in a confused state of mind.
Ah, I see. In that case it is a good idea to continue your listening practice with concentrated efforts on reading the script as they speak. After you hear a word with 'v' or 'w', pause it, try to reproduce it yourself, and then play it again. See if you can build up your ability to pick out the differences. A native speaker teacher can also give you great practice!

Hello Oxford Online English! I spend a lot of time checking word's pronunciation, but it's impossible with most of proper nouns. Could you give me any advice how can I read them correctly?
@@Oxfordonlineenglish1 I meant names of people, countries, cities and etc. I actually need to listen to someone who's pronouncing it and only then I can do it in a right way too. I guess, there are no certain rules to fit to them all and pronounce them correctly, or I'm mistaken with it?
Hi Sadick, this is a matter of a 'hard c' and 'soft c' sound. It generally depends on the following letter. A good rule is: If the letter following the 'c' is 'e or y,' the pronunciation is soft like that in 's'. This is in words like 'certain' and 'cycle'. If the letter following 'c' is anything else the pronunciation is hard like that in 'k'. This is in words like 'call' and 'come'. Hope this helps you!
Hi Fasanmi, we have many pronunciation lessons: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/free-english-pronunciation-lessons as well as teachers: www.oxfordonlineenglish.com/about-our-online-english-teachers who can help you!
It is not necessarily silent, but the British pronunciation does not have a defined 'r' sound in this word. The American pronunciation uses more of a defined 'r' sound. You can hear both of the differences here: dictionary.cambridge.org/us/pronunciation/english/world.
