- Notting Hill Carnival, Europe’s Biggest Party is an annual event in London that 2 million revellers attend over the August Bank Holiday. This year it has been cancelled and many Londoners will be sore missing it - but not the cleaners that have to deal with the mess it normally leaves behind…
Watch how Bossman, Double-M D, Mitch Matthews leads a soca conga line of waste operatives, binmen and dust carts on a blitz of Portobello road, Notting Hill Gate and the surrounding streets. Each year they clear hundreds of tonnes of rubbish from the city streets in a matter of hours. When they’re finished, you would never have known what happened just a few hours before.
It’s a mammoth effort, involving all back office staff and the entire waste department workforce for the local councils. With a bit of luck, maybe they’ll cancel it next year as well ay boys?

Is it honestly that hard to put your rubbish in a bin ?
I hazard to bet that the bins were already overflowing.
You gotta think about it most of the carnival attenders were most likely drunk. Easier to act like a child when drunk especially when others are acting the same way
They should have just hired some of the huge skip bins from biffa bin
People have no respect these days

Never seen man-made mountains of trash like that before. It's crazy how destugtuing people can be throwing their trash anywhere and everywhere. I love the channel always great content
I'm going out on a limb here (nearly a year after your comment), but I'm assuming that you were trying to spell the word DISGUSTING, but somehow got tangled up in its simplicity.
They remove the bins so there is no where else to put it. And it's very hard to leave once you're in.
Respect to these guys, amazing work. I hope they get paid well.

Exactly! Organisers and attendees always harping on about giving back to the community and all that but then again this is old footage and cannot be used generalise the whole event
@@robhuanout5443 just such a waste ive worked in catering so that veg etc would of been bought fresh & yet its just thrown to encourage vermin rather than human! Very we are lets hope they think about that now!

Wasted food? Set up lined trash bins with signs labeled composting. Pigs and hogs will eat anything.. even if the public does not comply, the food vendors could use them. This cuts back on the wasted food. Food that is still edible can go to soup lines or missions for homeless folks. I am thing about those corn cobs.

People don't understand that is a puplic road were people live imagine walking out your house and having a bin in your drive way
@@ala08sam You don't need to put bins i someone's driveway - and a driveway is private ground. But the street belongs to the city. And especially during such a festivity, it wouldn't hurt to put up bins...
They don't because it's only 2 days and 100% is never going to be in the bin so they'd have to clean the floor anyway. This way they just clean up without having to also collect all the bins so it works out quicker overall.
