    seperate your power, ground, remote wires and move 'em to the middle of the car, then run your rca cables down under the trim of the door, this will be more of a help to the system.

    ust put my sub and amp in my car and shuddered as i heard the loud whine from the sub. looked at this video and went what the **** this cannot be real but i had some wire and loop terminals and went stuff it, what harm could it do. i'm Dumbfounded as was my brother and my other friend. Thank you for this it's save me hours of time and MONEY!

    I've been dealing w engine noise for a decade!!!!! i just ignored the problem bc i used to play music loud but these days i play it low so it became a real problem. Ive tried those isolators but they just reduce the problem for awhile then it always came back. THIS REMOVED 100% I used 12 gauge wire, screwed into side screw and wrapped into the red rca cable. Thanks you man!

    Thank you!!! Over the past few days I've had my battery / alternator checked, re-grounded everything and still couldn't kick the noise. This did the trick. Likely my own fault for routing too many cables together but I didn't have much of a choice. :-)

    One thing I see people do is run all the wiring together. That is not good because that will cause noise into your speakers because the voltage through the power wire creates an electromagnetic field that turns into sound and that's what you hear through your rca's. Always run your power and remote on one side of the car and speaker and rca's on the other side and you'll avoid that problem all together.

    I think he means AV ;) Thanks a bunch for this! A little dob of solder doesn't hurt either. Note: might have to do every channel that's buzzing through the amp. 2 RCAs, do it to each one. You can also run this from the amp end of the RCAs, I've heard that's more effective, I'll be trying both tomorrow as soon as it's light out and I can finish up my install

    If this doesn't work or if you don't want to pull your radio back out try a ground loop isolator. Worked for me!

  • @simplymusic487
    @simplymusic487 4 роки тому +2

    The problem arises due to bad ground and RCA picking up interference from power cables. This trick is fixing the ground loop (difference in ground impedance) by grounding the RCA’s to the stereo chassis. The same can also be achieved by grounding your stereo better. Also pickup RCA cables that are twisted and have better noise isolation. I had ground loop issues that I fixed by changing RCA cables to better quality and sanding down the ground.

  • @cjcoolmoed
    @cjcoolmoed 4 роки тому

    I read the hum is due to ground potential difference from and and head unit and amp. This totally makes since thanks will try this, even with isolators I still hear hum. This may be the what solves it.

    This is a band aid only guys. This guy has poor grounds in the vehicle. They are all at different ohms values. All you have to do is connect EVERYTHING audio related to ONE heavy, real copper wire, and send to the - BATT terminal. NO CRIMP CONNECTORS please. Solder all your wires. Read about star grounding. Never ground your RCA's people. You're masking the problem.

    • @chileking1988

      agree 100% this is not a fix its a bandaid to problem i also like to have all my equipment see exact same positive and exact same negative i never ground to sheet metal i always ground to frame and never a had a single issue

      Please explain when you say connect everything audio related to ONE HEAVY WIRE and send it to the battery terminal.
      Are you saying to connect everything to the POWER WIRE? really now. really.
      Explain.

    How do I do this if I'm using a wiring harness / high level inputs? I'm using factory wiring in my e36 bmw and have 2 LOCs for each side input to my amp.
    Let me know if you have any suggestions.. thanks

    • @onesikm3
      @onesikm3 9 місяців тому

      This is nearly a decade late but I can guess what you did wrong. In the e36 make sure to never run your rca wires on the passenger side of the car. That’s where the main 12v feeed line is located and this is usually the main cause of interference with those cars. Pull your rca down the driver side of the vehicle

    quick question off topic. if I want to install and amp but I can't find the main RCA what to use to connect to the main or aux of the EQ ? I see an aux hole but it I've been told that's for running a phone and the only other RCA's out the back of the head unit are for the front, rear and sub. what do I use as a main so I can run my rear(which has the amp) and sub? thanks for answering.

  • @ybron8827

    So not sure if this is the same problem. But I get massive buzzing when I first start my car, like a lot of feedback or something. And it goes for bout 5-10 seconds and then stops (with the sub at full volume). only difference is I'm using a capacitor as well.

    I just installed speakers, amp and sub to my factory head unit with an LOC in a 2016 Canyon and had 2 noises. One rpm related and the other just a constant buzz. I moved the amp ground and the rpm noise went away but the constant buzz is still there. I spliced intonthe head unit wires because it did not have RCAs. Do you have Any idea what I should check now or what else I can do?
