@@jstdrv I have a few different intake options available to me right now: 2x gsxr itbs 2x 4age itbs 1 x m116 3.5 d-jetronic manifold, top manifold fits engine, not with the bottom manifold attached (bottom manifold hits the back of the engine block as its spaced backwards compared to the k-jet manifold, front OK) (will need to be shortened abt 15-20mm to fit on a m116 4.2 v8 so still should be plenty airflow for a 4.2) 1x stock k-jet manifold Currently thinking about sending thick plates of aluminium to be machined at a shop for the itb adapters or might shorten the d-jet manifold (might do both if i have the time and/or money, taking my time on this). All righty, I'm driving on a long, long trip and going to find out what the genuine top speed is on my U.S. (CA) 560 SEC will do. It's 100% as far as I can feel now. Was going to get the injectors reverse flushed or done/bench tested Friday but was turned off by a friend/VW mechanic from the 80's that made it crystal clear that the CIS injection is very touchy once you "try" to make it perfect. I'm on the fence but will run it in a couple of weeks at 100% for 5 minutes or more if I have the room. Any input will be appreciated! I've taken it 130(MPH) a few times locally and it's the best. Feels like a freight train after 80! Gotta love it! I'll never appreciate any automobile like this, ever again. They are superior in ever aspect I can describe. I'll do a true top speed run or runs to get a true top speed with a GPS as well as the good ol' speedometer. We shall see. I'll film it so there is no question. On ground level. Close to sea level. Standard plugs that Mercedes recommends, nothing to gain from plugs. I definitely noticed a gain in power and response when I got rid of the US headers and installed the triple y and no cat

Hi, I have an 1989 560 SEC I picked up a year ago and have been going through. Injectors and seats are on the way, Idle nonsense is finally fixed(ICV and ICM). Every sensor it has as well. All vacuum lines that I could see the end of. How did you detect the vacuum leak? Smoke test? What exhaust is that??? Mine is stock and moves out very well but the idle is a "little" shaky but I'm super picky. Thanks! Pete.
you spray starter fluid around the intake to find leaks. If you mix some 2stroke oil in with the gasoline it will run more smoothly. The exhaust headers is from 560 ECE engine 300hp, I found it on ebay for 1500 euros, quite expensive, but extra 30 hp (aprox)

Took my 560 sel up to 140mph but was still pulling. I suspect a usa car would do about 160 max
