Hi, I was looking for reactions to Kingfish and yours showed up in the results. Just a little FYI, Kingfish is drawn to the colour purple for two reasons. It's the colour that represents the disease Lupus. Something his mom suffered with. Also Kingfish is a big fan of Prince.
So I'm glad you appreciate what Kingfish was doing and the talent on display whilst he's doing it. I think he is what B.B. King would've sounded like if B.B. could've played and sing at the same time. So you want to get into more of Kingfish's music? Here's where you start, smack dab in the "662"!!
"662" is the title track from his 2nd album. It's also the telephone area code for Clarksdale Mississippi. Where Kingfish was born. It is also considered the birthplace of the Blues. The live performance on the show "CBS Sunday Morning" is excellent. Kingfish does one heck of a "Purple Rain" live, too. Just Google: "Kingfish Purple Rain live" (without the quote marks). He's playing the Les Paul copy mentioned in a different comment.
For all that only heard Jimi in live performances you really don’t know how clean he was! Listen to some of his later studio sessions. The last album, Cry of Love , shows some exemplary guitar work. ie: Angel.

Considering that the tech back in the 60s wasn't as good as it is 50 plus years later , of course Christone will be quite a bit cleaner.
