This was wonderful. Thank you sharing. We are planning on retiring in Italy so I found this particularly interesting. 😊. P. S. Your husband is incredibly talented!

Greetings from your neighbor in Turkey! I really enjoyed your house tour and the stories you shared along the way. Turkish and Greek living is quite similar and as an American in Turkey I can identify with some of your stories of adjusting to life there 😆. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to more videos.
Well, Hello! neighbor! Yes, I can imagine that the life style and cultures are very similar. Im so happy to hear that you are enjoying my videos. I am having SO much fun making them.
I’m so happy for you that you’ve figured out what’s best for your retirement! That’s such an important step, and I truly appreciate you sharing your experience. My wife and I are working on getting there as soon as possible, too, since we’re feeling the strain of rising expenses-just like you experienced on your last trip to Florida. (we lived there over 20 years and recently moved to SC to lower expenses) At this rate, if we don’t make a change, we might end up working another 10-15 years just to pay more for everything while working twice as much and saving half as before. So, relocating seems like the only real option. I’d love to hear more about your experience! How is the healthcare situation there? Is it easy to access when needed? Also, do you have a local vet for your kitty? You mentioned that your cat needs special food for kidney issues-our cat has similar urinary problems, so she needs a special diet too. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much for sharing your insights-I look forward to hearing more!
I totally understand what you are saying about the costs. I could never afford to live back in the states...not that I would want to. We have socialised medicine here, and I am covered because I am married to a Greek man. I really don't have information on private health care. So many people have asked, so I will try to get info. The public health system is very accessible. I have a wonderful vet, and they are ridiculously inexpensive. I will add a link to the cat food I have found for "Troubles", my FAT cat who had the urinary issue. He is still fat...but no more issues. We have this food locally, and I don't pay THAT much for it. Thanks for connecting, and I wish you both a great retirement.

Just happened upon your channel in my feed. So exciting to see inside a home on a Greek Island. Part of my ancestry is from a tiny island called Psara, as well as Athens, but I do not speak any Greek and am yet to visit. My grandfather's family were amongst the very first Greeks to migrate to Australia. You have a lovely home and your husband is clearly an amazing cabinet maker and joiner. Thanks for the tour!

Welcome to Aegean Dreams...I hope to hear from you often.
@@jasminleuthold9965 glad you liked the door, and welcome to Aegean Dreams. Yes, I do feel very safe on the island, but leaving the key in the door is no difference from being in your house or your garden in the U.S. and the door being unlocked. When we leave the house, or go to sleep, the house is locked the keys on the inside. Maybe easier to understand if you just think of a key as the door knob.😊 Thanks for your comment.
