    So much fun. Really enjoyed that. I have found that I like the clickity blue switches on a keyboard. I have an ergonomic mechanical keyboard with blue switches attached to my work computer. Glad I work from home because the noise could potentially drive others insane.

    After watching some reviews as this I bought this, but a white one with blue switch.
    I'm quite happy with it so far but the type feels quite (a little too) light, and the spacebar has a bit of tinging sound (can't explain it...)
    Still the beauty conquers all, so I like it for myself.
    Any retro-lovers will enjoy this!

    Anything that looks like an old fashioned typewriter gives me the shivers. I'm old enough to have used them for business correspondence and story telling and such. I've owned a few of them, one of them the now famous IBM golf ball type writer. They do force you to be disciplined, which I suppose is a good thing for many writing jobs, but that goes against creative writing. So, when the first affordable PCs came out with word processors installed, I thought I had finally arrived in heaven. I mean affordable as in under a month's wages. I haven't looked back since.

    Love the look, but my concern is how does it compare to other mechanical keyboards? I'm not a gamer, but a writer thinking of going mechanical due to the supposed improvement in the flow and ease of writing. Especially regarding the feel and sound of the keys. How much push back is there? Are they firm or mushy? For people who love their mechanical keyboards it's important to know if the back of the unit (I would think so) can be opened so that some aspects of the key sounds can be altered or dampened. (This would help with the sharper metallic sound of that spacebar on the Querkywriter too). Also do you know if the key switches (not the key caps) are soldered onto the circuit board or are they swappable? (This is important if you like brown instead of blue switches). Thank you!

      @JustMyTypewriter  Рік тому

      They are replaceable. It does not have a ton of resistance. There is a shot of the underside of the keyboard where you can see the battery component. It is not designed to be heavily altered by the user.

    I sooo want one of these. But that price!! 😮Great review. And thank you because I know next to nothing about them. The simple and easy Manuel that comes with it, means everything to me. (A non techy older person) 😊

    How does it hold up under larger scale typing sessions, compared to a standard laptop keyboard? Is it wide enough that it doesn't cramp your fingers? Any other comments on its ergonomics?

    • @JustMyTypewriter

      I personally find the keys to be rather close together, but I'm used to a more flat laptop keyboard than a raised mechanical board

    If you own some of those antique typewriters (Such as the old Royal's, Olympia, Remington, etc. typewriters from the early early to mid 1900's), you can get a "USB Typewriter Conversion Kit" to turn a real antique typewriter into a USB compatible keyboard for roughly $180ish.
    ((This is the first video i've seen from you, so if you have already done a review of something similar i apologize, but it would be neat to see a review on something like that.))

    • @JustMyTypewriter

    Glad they took the number pad away, its not needed. Barely anybody uses that.
    What is lame though is that you cant scroll up or down with one of the knobs. Atleast the qwerkywriter does that.
    Also i dont like the gold accents. Should have kept it silver or mettalic to match the key caps.

      Actually, historically the prices of many goods have been artificially low, because factory workers have been paid peanuts. When people are paid decent wages for design, testing, manufacturing, and production, the prices of things will naturally increase. As more and more people start learning, studying, and improving their skills fewer will be willing to work in factories for pennies a day. Personally, I have had my wired L100 Dell keyboard for over 7 years. It still works fine. In retrospect, I think it was worth a few hundred dollars at time of purchase based on the years of service it has given me while other more modern keyboards have come out and worn out during that time. As Grant Cardone says, "It isn't that it costs too much; the case is that you need to make more money." Thank you for the review, Just My Typewriter, I can't wait to unbox the 2.0 Aluminum version. I hope it comes in a box as nice as the one you received. It is really exciting that designers are looking at the market and trying to create aesthetic and functional items to improve our life experience.
