- The Dark Peak Fell Runners base themselves in Sheffield, but their playground is the Peak District National Park where they weave tracks through the fields, peat bogs and rocky outcrops to create a tapestry of eccentricity, endeavour and endurance.
As one of the biggest pure fell running clubs in the UK, the ‘Dark Peak Fell Runners’ captures the personality, quirks and successes of the club and its members. Shot throughout the course of a year, the film follows in their footsteps to reveal their well-trodden Peak District running routes including the club’s flagship race, the Edale Skyline.

Saw this at Kendall a few years ago and was mesmerised by it, way more than any of the other films we saw. I wouldn't describe myself as a runner but I do love running occasionally in the hills, and this film captured both the essence of running but also the soul of what seems a fantastically eclectic club with a proper heart. A brilliant piece of art.
Fantastic Video !! I was pointed to this by a DPR last week who is currently walking the PW with his wife , and I m glad he told me about it I wrote a long article about my experience of the 1975 Edale Skyline which I posted on the FRA Facebook page it also contains my account of the first defeat of Harry Walker by Andy Styan which id one of my all time sporting epic sights ! Glad some of the older guys are still going I remember Chris Worsall giving us the send off and Chris Brasher giving out the prizes (not to Me !) if you look up the article enjoy ! Fantastic little film. Love the way it keeps cutting back to the Skyline race. Great place to run and after watching this I'm already reaching for my trainers to get out. 😆

Firstly want to say how impressed I am with the quality of this video - the production and creativity is fantastic. Secondly, it inspires me even more to get into fell running having been doing trail runs over the last year since giving up the road. Unfortunately I live in Leicestershire which is both flat as a pancake and a little too far I imagine from where Dark Peaks are based - if it wasn't I'd certainly want to come and have a run with this lot!
