There are cameras everywhere, but sadly that doesn’t always matter. I got hit and run by someone this year, at a big intersection, and the cops said they’d check the camera footage. They never did shit, luckily my insurance sided with me

Most of those people just try to extort you on the spot, threatening to go to the police in order to force you to give them money.
Insurance scam is a prelude to blackmail.
In my state, South Carolina, we have a ridiculous law where if you hit the back of a vehicle it is automatically your fault.
If a scammer actually just slams on the brakes out of nowhere, or pulls out in front of you and gets their car turned enough to where you hit their rear end, you'll lose in court.
While that's mostly true people have used dashcam footage to prove the other person was malicious in court.

That just shows people don't know how to drive. If you keep a car and a half space between you and the person in front of you (two for semi's) and pay attention it's easy to avoid. The only thing you can't control is getting cut off. Stop speeding and/or riding the ass of the person in front of you.

There was a huge epidemic here in the UK of this for some time. Don’t hear about it as much now but insurance companies were warning people to get cameras in their cars. There where even dodge insurance companies who had people going out and getting run over then suing.
People who died trying to do scams like this absolutely deserve it, doesn't matter if Common Joe was a loving father of 3 when his dumbass was Break checking me on a 60 highway and putting multiple other cars in danger.
My uncle was a serial insurance scammer; before marrying my aunt he had bought a cheapass mobile home, found a bunch of clothes, furniture, toiletries etc at the dump and lit it on fire. Collected insurance from it. My grandma’s told me there’s countless other stories, and my aunt is at least 80% sure he was trying to poison her while they were married to kill her and collect life insurance.

There’s a computer in a lot of newer cars that is designed to record all your inputs on the throttle brake even the ac and heat. If you were to reverse into someone they could see it in the log and get your ass. They could probably use it stop break checking but they’d have to get the car in front of the rear ended car to do that and that person would probably be long gone
When you get in a accident and get a lawyer they have doctors that work with them and after the settlement it's a 33% for personal injured , laywer and doctor not a single penny comes out the injured person pocket it's all done with an contract saying each party gets X amount of the settlement
I once got on an accident at a bk drivethru and the woman behind me who got bumped too tried to pull the "ahh my neck" bit but her acting was laughable.

Walking on a country road, got hit by a semi. Obviously I'm still here broke a leg though(flew 20+ft) Wasn't scamming anyone & the vehicle kept going, never did anything but get a cast for the leg.
