what is the difference between membrane-less and membrane former? what are the pros and cons of each and what are each one of them used for?
A membrane former utilizes a silicon membrane that is placed over the part and the kydex which produces the vacuum seal. A membrane-less former uses the kydex or thermoplastic itself to create the vacuum seal. Typically you get higher definition from membrane-less forming. The membrane formers cause draping and less definition because of the friction of the membrane on the kydex. You can still get great definition from membrane formers but in my experience, membrane-less formers are faster and product a better product with tighter tolerances.
what the setting of your heatpress for this process? what the temperature of the kydex?
