I play my jsx primarily on the crunch channel with the gain between 11 - 12 o'clock and a mxr analog delay through the fx loop. Will forever love this amp.
i love my JSX amp! especially the crunch channel with a Tube Screamer in front. The EQ is very powerful on that amp as well. A very under rated amp that needs more attention for sure.
JSX/XXX is the best choice for hardcore/thrash, I’d play them over any other amp I’ve personally played for those styles. And I’ve owned a ton of way more expensive amps. Your riffs rule, man!!!!
I have Tung Sol 6L6GC-STR in my JSX. Takes some of the mid honk out of the amp and gives it a sweet clean. I got this idea from Fluff. I have JJ ECC83S in V1-V3 but the PI is a Sovtek 12AX7 LPS
Just bought one and even though i also wanted his Splawn Quick Rod but it was twice as much. I messaged him about the jsx after i bought it and he said he prefers it over the Splawn 👍
Kyle, I had one of these heads years ao. I ran it through my over sized Recto 4x12. I tried it with 6l6's and EL34's and it sounded really good. But it always sounded so polite. It never sounded as "mean" as the 5150. I ended up trading it away on a second 5150 II.
You said the crunch channel is not as big as the 6505. Can the lead get there? I'm guessing that is all fixed with an external eq? Thanks. Anyone that KNOWS...KNOWS...feel free to opine.
Could you get a hold of an egnater armageddon 120 watt head and do a video on that? Would like to see your take on it. They are kinda rare and he taught Friedman amp tech supposedly.
Kyle, if you had to choose between xxx and jsx, which one would you choose? I've found a JSX for 350€, I don't have the chance to try them but I love both.
highly compressed sound have also something to do with your high gain pickups , and dont use scooped loudspeakers on Engls , and pickups around 8K makes the biggest punch ,EL 34 (pentodes) needs at least 1K grid resistors , the higher resistance you pick the more compressed will sound be .KT and 6L6 Gc are (tetrodes,) need more mids ? increase resistor on mid pot ,
Hi brother! Im waiting for your review on Marshall DSL20! Afther that, i leave a suggestion, would you review PEAVEY 6505 PIRANHA? Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹

I have the 212 combo and that thing kicks so much ass. So good!
This video reminds me that the JSX has a distinct tone apart from other high gain Peavey offerings. Like it or not, it has its own thing going on.
The JSX, XXX and Bugera 333XL are probably my favorite high gain amps.

I'd love to see a JSX vs Bugera 333XL comparison!
333xl is such an awesome amp, 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

The JSX is its own animal

Yes to the OD comparison idea.
this amp kills! pair with scott ian jackson sounds pretty good! did you change the pickups btw? sounds massive
Kyle can you include the Digitech Bad Monkey in the overdrive boost shoot out? thanks for the live streams

Yeah it's not as raw as the 5150 stuff, but it's more tight and articulate
@@belligerentamateur, no doubt brother. And quieter. Honestly, I wish I still had one in my stable.
The XXX was a tweaked Ultra+ originally meant as a George Lynch amp, but he jumped ship...
Nice shirt! 🤘🥁
The MXR Custom Badass Modified O.D. is based on a Boss SD-1
In my opinion this was his best amp even better than the marshall the marshall rocked but Peavey has more tonal dynamics, texture, and harmonics!!!

Hey Kyle just was interested in the Jackson V your playing is it a USA model ?
No sir, Import!
You should do this more often.
I use the Crunch with fat off for rhythm and the Ultra with fat on for lead in C standard doom metal, works well.
Yeah, fat off for both with me which i can't believe. I was worried... was...
I bet that you could get an Ibanez tone blaster 100 to sound way better than glen fricker (spectre sound studios) could ever dream of 🤘🤘🔥🔥.
If you re-tube with 6CA7 Big Bottle tubes from Eurotubes, the amp sounds 10 times better

How about a vengeance? I have that one on hand, same as the armageddon without the 3rd channel and added ISP decimator
@@belligerentamateur that would be awesome , there is an armageddon available on GC used right now for around 750 though. Thanks!!
