The first time I heard this album was after I bought the deluxe CD from Walmart. I was 17 and had been a fan of LOG for 2 years since I heard ashes of the wake. When this song, more specifically that main riff started immediately after that intro to the album I nearly came. LOG has been my favorite band ever since

I kno I have to listen to Chris's shit a couple times sometimes to fully hear what he's got going on. Sad hes gone but new dudes got skills. I took a bit of a hiatus from LOG, wrath was the last album I had. That was before I knew about using UA-cam to listen to music lol
Don’t get me wrong, Chris Adler is my favourite drummer In the world, not because he’s so good, but because I feel he genuinely writes drums to fit songs like no one before him.
But a simple snare to tom roll finished with a cymbal splash?
@@Duarki Its a 16th note roll with the splashes on each downbeat, then into a tom/ double bass (portnoy style fill) into a cymbal grab. A bit more challenging and unique compared to what someone else may have done. Add the speed and its mind boggling. Give it a try!

ohhhhh a 16th note. yeh, I didn’t know what that was, especially because they r unrecognisable to even someone who doesn’t play the drums. and do u mean he grabbed the cymbal? that’s insane. I wondered why the note died.
@@Duarki yup, so at the end he grabs the cymbal to stop the sound. But the full full is: a splash cymbal followed by 3 snares (x4), Tom Tom- bass bass- Tom Tom -bass bass- snare -cymbal grab

Played this album religiously when I was studying for my final exams 6 years into university. The triumphant part of this song never sounded so good as when I put it on immediately after my last exam, while waiting at a train station. Absolute freedom. That was 12 years ago

2:40 and on, is my favorite part of any song ever. And this is from someone who mainly listens to ray Wiley hubbard, Tyler childers, colter wall and turnpike troubadours. But i love LoG.
At 3:25 this song goes nuclear for me. I cant explain it. One odd thing is it reminds me of the Beatles last note in "A day in the Life". He seems heavy and complicated but soothing. Like a rainstorm. It actually reminds me of when Andy escapes the prison in Shawshank Redemption or when Dan screams at god in Forrest Gump. Like the music is pouring over me. And this is an important moment.
YESS I came here to see if anyone felt the same way. I cannot, *cannot* explain in words how absolutely legendary the outro is. No other song has ever made me feel the same as from 3:25 on and I will never not get goosebumps from it.
You need an uplifting outro after listening to 3:25 minutes of brutality.

It’s interesting that I hear a lot of influence from the song Descending off the Sacrament album that initially received a lot of distaste from the band members when initially brought forth by Mark which ended up being an absolute favorite by many Lamb of God fans. Hmm! 🧐

Favorite LOG song! Sounds amazing with good bass. I'll always have this memory now, when I got off work one day and was stuck at a light, this song was playing and I listen to music loud in my car. This car on my right rolled their windows down and 4 people started air drumming so I cranked the volume to max and the part at 3 minutes and 25 seconds came on and they were blown away!

Idk why I hear some "piano" notes at 3:32. It's not a FX. And I hear the same notes when I play this on my guitar.
Reverb of the strings. Open a piano and they are strings like most instruments so they sound similar at times. Nice observation i just noticed it because of your comment
