miss you doing theses videos Lars 😎
That’s really awesome!!
Thanks for a super great question!
2 years ago when i imported csv values it took me awhile to realize the python program assumes the numbers are centimeters and i had to adjust all my numbers by 2.54 to get inches equivalent to fit my design.
Hi Lars. I'm trying to auto generate measurements from a 3D scanned face model in Fusion. Any suggestions on how to generate them and get them in an excel sheet?
This is a way to fix that parabola problem of a few weeks ago.
I cooked up an Excel spreadsheet to make a spiral spline. You video taught me how to use it in minutes! Then I spent the next hour or so trying to figure out why the spline was smaller than it should be. It appeared to be about 2.5 times smaller than the dimensions on the spreadsheet. Then the light bulb came on. The add-in is bringing in the values as cm (even though the document units are inches) and converting them to inches. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks
Having the same issue
Thanks Lars!
Tysmm this helped alot!!
Glad :-)
Lars. - CVS is a pharmacy CSV is for comma separated variables. KO?
😁Thank you
'Comma separated values'. The internet is a hard bitch.

Hi Lars, When I import a CSV file with xyz coordinates the sketch in F360 si 10 times bigger - the coordinates are only up to 220mm but the actual sketch is 2200mm! Any suggestions? Happy to send you my file.
As I just found on my file that seems to be an error in Fusion. Yes, I can correct it in Excel but when you've got a zillion points it's a pain. I'm going to log an error with the Fusion Team now.
Haha.. still a problem apparently.. 🫣 just had a small melt down because of this.. it was sooo easy to import the csv file and then its 10x bigger..
what purpose are your doing the excel, I mean I understand what you did, but why, I am not understanding why the excel format in the first place?
maybe you can add some kind of formula like (x=y+3)
I did recently find that out when I wanted to model a sheet metal spiral spring. It took me about an hour. I wish you had done this video earlier!!! lol!
P.S. Seriously adding value, as always! Thx Lars!
Thank you for watching 👍😊
Thank You..
How do we import a csv file for plotting points WITHOUT the spline function?
It comes in as a spline only. In my case (1) I use the imported spline points purely as a reference and (2) I'm only using X & Y, (i.e. Z values of zero). Then I do a new sketch (arcs, lines, circles, etc.) using those points on the spline.
Hello, I hope you can help! I've imported my points, but they are not attached to any axis. I can click on it to edit sketch, and get an axis, but I can't get the points to display on the plane I need it to. It only lies flat. As soon as I try to rotate or manipulate it, the axis is again lost and I am unable to edit the sketch. Please help!!!
mpcsrs I think I have had that problem also. It’s still not solved entirely for me either. I also need help with that. I really hope that you have figured that out within the last several months you posted that comment.
Send me your CSV file and I'll check it out if you want me to. Reply to me here and we'll go from there.
what was you running n the hass simulator
Just looping an adaptive toolpath👍😊
i can t achieve the file is csv i get this message
