  • Starbucks (SBUX) stock has dove lower this week after the beverage giant missed second-quarter earnings estimates, the stock's worst post-earnings performance since 2000.
    Citi Bank Restaurant Sector Analyst Jon Tower joins Catalysts to discuss how Starbucks can turn its performance around and recover losses.
    "[Starbucks] is effectively, by footprint, the second-largest brand in the United States from a restaurant standpoint," Tower explains, "and the second largest brand probably needs to have a value offering on their menu."
    He believes that the rising cost of Starbucks' food and beverages is likely causing sales to drop among the average consumer, and the company should start rolling out incentives to get them to return regularly. "What they're charging is not an alluring proposition to the average customer," he adds, pointing to a greater need for cost-cutting measures in Starbucks' greater business model if price easings are not enacted.

    A crash and bullish market provides equal high-yield potential, it's all about information and strategy application, I've seen folks make huge 7figure profit in a crashing market and pull it off much easily in a bull market Unequivocally the crash/recession is getting somebody somewhere rich.

      On occasion you can beat the market with blind luck, but I wouldn't depend on it. Having a science background there is a saying, 'Luck favors the informed', I've found it to be true, allowed me in great part to retire early.

      The truth is that this is really not as difficult as many people presume it to be. It requires a certain level of diligence, no doubt, which is something ordinary investors lack, and so a financial advisor often comes in very handy. My friend just pulled in more than $84k last month alone from his investment with his advisor. That is how people are able to make such huge profits in the market.

    I have more money than ever and I can’t imagine spending any of it at Starbucks; $7 coffee is something I would have done when I was young and “rich” 😂

    Allowing the possibility that it is pivotal shift in consumer markets, like WFH culture, and there is no "path forward". "Cost cutting" also difficult due to the need for barista-customer interaction.

    In 2000 it was a cool new thing, it was a vibe. 2024, literal opposite… slow management fail of self awareness , there is no way to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Just saying it how it is, I never like to see a fail.

    Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

    • @Manselus
      @Manselus 24 дні тому

      Just ''buy the dip'' man. In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder.
