RIP Manny! Thank you for capturing this interview. While Manny’s drums are only on two Misfits tracks, his contributions to the legacy are much more grand as he was the one that sealed the foundation of the Misfits by connecting Danzig to Jerry Only. Would never have been the same without Manny!
So sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Manny left us early this morning! I will miss you my friend! Thanks for all the great times! Rest in peace Manny!
You're golden for this man. It can't be understated how much this means to Misfits fans, and how valuable this information is on a primal level, out of just pure love for the music.
Great job on these interviews. The fact you are able to find all these guys is amazing. I hope we get the rest of the members some day. Keep up the good work.
Another great interview man. I love Manny's frantic jazzy style on the first single. I think that version of She is among the most forward looking stuff they ever did. Obviously things happened for a reason but I always wondered what they would've sounded like if he stuck around a little longer
Hopefully someday the original '77 tapes can be released for the world to hear....Manny was a fantastic drummer...he played 3/4 of the songs that made it to static age before that was recorded as well as a bunch of songs that have never been released.....the cough/cool single doesn't do him justice as cool as it is....
Slippy Jones forget the image rockers.get franche coma and manny and glenn and jerry into a line up.manny and franche would bring em back down to earth and the music would be great
This man is a treasure. Always wanted to know more about this era and really can't express how important these interviews are. Much more important are these long lost recordings, I hope Glenn throws the fans a bone and okays their release. 3rd time watching, thanks for doing this!
Thank YOU for watching!!! There's a brand new one coming up soon with Manny that is an overview of The Misfits 1977 lineup that we think fans will really like.....we too hope the recordings are approved for release...they are amazing! =)
I want to see Manny with The Misfits, the real original lineup. Lets get our Latino brother back in The Misfits!!! Also Robo is another Latino drummer that played with The Misfits.
@Jesse Tragedie I heard a story about when Dave showed up to the first reunion show and Jerry asked if he wanted an autograph. He was like “no dude I’m your damn drummer”
Loving these interviews and channel man. I've always loved the history of the Misfits. Super interesting to hear that Diane and Jimmy battle didn't play in The Misfits. When I was a teenager there was quite an argument amongst fans are whether or not Jerry Only even had a right to resurrect The Misfits considering he wasn't the first bass player
I Think Jerry Was The Original Bassist all along and Manny was Original Drummer and Franche is the Original Guitarist Mr.Jim Played with Jimi and Diane but he said they werent in The Misfits.
Manny Said from what he remembers it was always jerry hes rght jim said diane wasnt in the misfits jim cataina actually played with her i think people just us diane as an excuse to hate and jerry cause his version of the misfits isnt populer lots of people go along with that Franche has nothing against jerry manny doesnt and jim doesnt and to be honest i dont think diane or jimmy have anything against him ether
Lodi was great in the early 70s....lots of new you musicians, basement bands, garage bands..lots of drugs fueling the fire..manny was a funny guy..i can remember standing on the corner were everyone would hang and Manny and "Bandit" his doberman would come strolling up to see what was happening on any given night...wearing bowling shoes swiped from lodi lanes he was a young fashion icon..haha...we would sit in redstone lane park..and listen to the practice in mannys basement...good times , I have fond memories of that lodi gang full of misfits..Im guessing...1974..??
Another incredible slice of history captured for posterity. And the interviews themselves have such an amazing flow and feel. Effortless, yet informative on a level heretofore unseen. There's a 3rd song, as of yet unreleased, from the Cough Cool sessions? Wow! Allow me to say, in my best Jersey Guido, get the fuck outta here, lol!?! And you've actually heard it? Wow! Life in Lodi seems to have it's advantages, lol. Well, I'm on to the next chapter. You've got me on a bender here, lol. What's next for the Golden Guido's? The Lords of Lodi themselves? Tune in to the Static Age to find out, lol.
These interviews you are conducting are important documents in the history of the band. Not third person accounts, but insight from actual band members other than the principals. I would love to see you interview Diane DiPiazza.
@@MarkMacabre-ze1xj i dont think diane was in the misfits or not its not manny that remembered her it was mr jim manny just rememebered jerry i dont think diane considers herself a member or if she was or not
Awesome. This is punk rock history. I never thought I would get so many details about the beginning of this great band. Wasn't Manny kicked out of the band by Glenn and Jerry?

just seeing this now in 2024. very cool that you did this interview
easily the fastest most fluid drummer ive heard.his fills are epic in the small windows he had for them
Manny is hilarious. Easily the best interview of this series. Very interesting as well, as a Misfits fan.

Great interview! My first kit was a blue sparkle Zim•Gar. A schoolmate gave it to me in 1989 in Jersey🤘
Great Interviews Brother.🇺🇸🇦🇷 👏🏻. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
My first set was also a 1960’s Zim-Gar. Blue sparkle. Great interview.
Wow this is really cool you guys are finding all the classic guys that started it all. Great stuff

@Jesse Tragedie truth man! I’ve been playing drums for 25 years. I feel the pain lol
Misfits/Danzig has had a lot of Latino drummers. Manny, Robo, Joey Castillo, Eric Arce, Dave Lombardo... never really realized that before.
He died.
great interview, love this!
very kool trackn down the vets. great work

jerry only funded the band so i guess he had a right.

Manny Doberman and the big rocks under the tree in Redstone lane park ...Great memories as a kid...
@Paul D bandit..Mandy's Doberman...I remember Manny wearing bowling shoes he stole from lodi lanes..haha
I'm glad I found this interview, the guy interviewing Manny addressed pretty much all of the fans' burning questions.

A most enjoyable interview.

Manny left the group on his own after doing the Shock Theatre show in Toronto at the end of 1977 =)
Does anybody have a copy of the 3rd original Misfits (organ lineup) track? "heartbeats in the night"? 14:14
yes.
Can you post? PLEEZ!?!?!
PLEASE POST! I WANT TO HEAR SO BAD
As of right now it's under lock and key but hopefully someday the fiends will get to hear it =)
It is not fair to keep it hidden away from true fiends
Druids would carve pumpkins and burn Human flesh in them for Halloween.
You need to track down and interview Googy
Thank you .He went and played on thou shalt not kill by antidote after he left fits
Pretty good for a interview from 1977!!! Wtf kinda bs is this?!?!?!
