Static age is my favorite recording from the misfits. I can listen to the whole album from start to finish and love every song. I learned how to play guitar and drums by playing along to static age. Without static age my life would not be the same today.
I got to meet Fanche when Rosemarys Babies were filing the Documentary(unreleased and in the works). He is a VERY cool guy, I got to touch the guitar he recorded all those old songs with. Such a great guy! Such an honor!
Damn really grateful for a half hour of info from Franche. Interviewer actually knew a lot of little known facts, which made it all the more enlightening.
Wish this was longer, great of him to do this interview, thought fans would never hear anything from him. Would have loved to hear more stories, seems like a cool guy!
So awesome, great interview, I read about harpies in the night years ago on misfits central,if memory serves me, it said it was never recorded ,only performed. If it does exist, it must be released, the fiends deserve to hear it, especially now that the misfits are the world wide phenomenon that they are
Thank you .For your talent and time to pass on the HISTORY of something that became bigger than what you had expected and COMA you laid it down on how the guitar should be played for the MISFITS. RESPECT.
Excellent interviews . Any possibility of interviewing John Christ, Eerie,Glenn, Chuck, Rick Rubin if possible. Thank You for posting these interviews!
Thank YOU for checking them out!!! It's always possible but so far from that list Eerie is the only one I interviewed on the radio show...I'll be posting that up here soon...I would love to talk with them all tho and I'm always working on it! =)
Thank you for these videos - I am as fascinated by early Misfits lore as much as any band ever. So intriguing, still so much mystery surrounds those early years
Wonderful!!! Would really love to see a comprehensive Eerie interview, one that really goes in depth as far as him being a Misfits fan and then starting up Samhain and then into Danzig and also finally leaving Danzig.
I've randomly came across your videos and I think what you're doing is great. I dig the interviews and love the walk among us episodes. Please keep the content going. I just went through all your videos in one evening and need more. Any idea what you have in stored for future videos? Thanks
i LOVE the misfits, but straight up im always a little hesitant to believe any stories Glenn or Jerry tell. but i really liked this, Franche seemed very honest and down to Earth, not trying to inflate his own legend or infamy. and i love all original misfits era material but that early stuff from this era has always been my favorite. for YEARS i always considered legacy of brutality my favorite and was so excited when the static age versions got released. Thank You Franche.
it's outrageous this guy played almost all of their best songs and he gets almost erased from misfit history. static age is essentially a greatest hits compilation- the songs are that good and each one is better than the last- and the guy people most associate with misfits guitarists is jerry's moody brother.
very cool interview, i really liked franches guitar sound, it was like a heavier darker johnny ramone....its too bad that version of the misfits that recorded static age didn't stick around for a little longer!
Punk wasnt set in stone back then as it is now even with bands like the pistols and the Ramones there were still bands like the screamers and suicide its was more experimental in many respects aside from the 4 chord stuff
I disagree with the notion that the Misfits didn't "sound" punk. In my mind, punk doesn't have a specific sound, it's more of an approach and a sincerity in what you're doing. That idea has been lost over the years which is unfortunate. They didn't sound exactly like the Sex Pistols or whatever, but that was the point. Most of the early American punk bands didn't sound like each other.
The early Misfits material was very far removed from the sound of punk which was well established at the time. The band didn't have a guitar player...just the organ which is light years away from what "punk rock" was in 1977....Their early material was very 50's/60's oriented with an almost "Doors" style to it....It wasn't until they got Franche and started playing songs like Bullet that they went into the "punk" style.....so i always wondered how they billed themselves in those early days of '77 if they were playing material that sounded more like the doors than the sex pistols.....
Dark Ride Films Well you're right about that, btw I meant no disrespect personally, this is a fantastic interview. I guess what I was getting at is that the fact that they didn't even have a guitar player is the very essence of punk. I feel like even though punk was established by 77, it still was kind of still open. Television didn't sound like the Ramones at all but it was still a part of the same thing. I mean Suicide was a seminal punk band and they didn't even have drums! Let alone a guitar. I always thought Glenn must've been into them based on Cough/Cool. This really is all semantics though, but it's an interesting subject.
Oh I agree with you totally!! I just always wondered how they looked at themselves at that time...did they consider themselves a "punk" band or did they think of themselves as something different.....Cough/Cool is a good example but there's also quite a few unreleased '77 songs that show them in a totally different light being more of a doorsy-bluesy kind of band as opposed to a punk band......Their history is so secretive so it's fascinating to me to go over every single detail lol
How skilled is Franche on guitar?. Im not familiar with any of his non-Misfits music and Static Age doesn't really have leads, aside from 138..What im getting at, is Frank in the same league as Bobby, or no?.. No disrespect aimed at anyone, but Bobby (to me) was the most proficient guitarist and has consistently play since the 70's with numerous bands and his own band The Undead!.. Always thought the Misfits should have had two guitarists, or at least kept Glenn on keyboards, but with a guitarist!.. The "12 Hits" release comes to mind and how cool it would have sounded with one guitarist playing Ramones down strokes and another (or keyboard) playing accents, different chords and lead work!..
Static age is my favorite recording from the misfits. I can listen to the whole album from start to finish and love every song. I learned how to play guitar and drums by playing along to static age. Without static age my life would not be the same today.
Fuck yah perfect record!
I put it on and at the very least I go through the album 2x classic piece of work
One of the greatest straight up rock and roll albums of all time. I wonder what Buddy Holly would think of it
The best misfits record. Period.
Of all these ex-Misfit interviews, Franche seems the coolest. Calls it like it is, no ego, etc.
Of all the guys Doyle seems like a total piece of shit to me. Arrogant, ignorant asshole.
Agreed... This is an awesome interview... \m/\m/
Him and Eerie Von (Samhain/Danzig)although not an official Misfits member he is very humble as well
i would just love to look through all these guys photo albums of the time.
I love his playing on those misfits records… Perfect stuff
Franche seems like a real cool dude.
Johnny Ramone, Malcolm Young, and this man right here; I owe my right hand to them!
Jim Iverson Johnny Ramone’s right arm was a machine gun
really good job interviewing. great questions. left no stone unturned. nice work.
I got to meet Fanche when Rosemarys Babies were filing the Documentary(unreleased and in the works). He is a VERY cool guy, I got to touch the guitar he recorded all those old songs with. Such a great guy! Such an honor!

This is so cool. Franche Coma is definitely my favorite Misfits guitarist. Dude seems really cool too. Great interview!
Glad I came across this interview. He’s a good dude.
Thanks for posting this ! Franché is and will always be my favourite 'Fits guitarist. He had the coolest name and is the coolest guitarist.

Damn really grateful for a half hour of info from Franche. Interviewer actually knew a lot of little known facts, which made it all the more enlightening.
man this interviews episodes are gold, thanx for this.

This is the best interview out of all the old Misfits members.

#FiendForLife
Hell yeah
What a cool guy. Thank you for doing this.
This is one cool dude.
Wish this was longer, great of him to do this interview, thought fans would never hear anything from him. Would have loved to hear more stories, seems like a cool guy!
Absolute Legend. I would love to run into him around NJ and just shake his hand and give him his props.
So awesome, great interview, I read about harpies in the night years ago on misfits central,if memory serves me, it said it was never recorded ,only performed. If it does exist, it must be released, the fiends deserve to hear it, especially now that the misfits are the world wide phenomenon that they are
Man these interview videos are fucking cool man, I don't think I've ever read or seen interviews with any of these guys
Thank you .For your talent and time to pass on the HISTORY of something that became bigger than what you had expected and COMA you laid it down on how the guitar should be played for the MISFITS. RESPECT.

Great interview.
Love the way he says "Angelfuck". It sounds so New York/Jersey. 😄
It's brilliant 😂
Killer riffs.
Thank you for these videos - I am as fascinated by early Misfits lore as much as any band ever. So intriguing, still so much mystery surrounds those early years
Incredible. Love your channel!

Static Age is a fucking gem
Franche a true original..........
I'd love to hear Jerry and Glenn play all of static age with Franche on guitar.
awesome channel Brother!
Thank You!!
Awesome!
Wonderful!!! Would really love to see a comprehensive Eerie interview, one that really goes in depth as far as him being a Misfits fan and then starting up Samhain and then into Danzig and also finally leaving Danzig.
An interview would be cool…his book Misery Obscura covers all of it if you can get a copy.
Full 6 strings barre chords! Pure punk rock
glad he mentioned "theme for a jackal". that is such a killer song. "Bitch! Bitch she is! Cut her from the inside out!"
Plan on doing any more of these interviews?. Would love to see one with Bobby
Stay Tuned 😉
Dude, this is fucking killer. Love your channel

Thank YOU so much!!! I really appreciate it !! I'm currently finishing up the next episode so there is more in the works coming soon! =)
Great interview. Manny is old, hard to listen, Joey is smack head, my men, but Franche looks great. Remembers everything, sharp, loves to talk, great
Static Age was so freakin’ heavy.
i LOVE the misfits, but straight up im always a little hesitant to believe any stories Glenn or Jerry tell. but i really liked this, Franche seemed very honest and down to Earth, not trying to inflate his own legend or infamy. and i love all original misfits era material but that early stuff from this era has always been my favorite. for YEARS i always considered legacy of brutality my favorite and was so excited when the static age versions got released. Fuckn great!
These are great. Any idea where Chuck Biscuits lives? I'd love to see you do an interview with him.
Thank YOU! I would love to do an interview with Chuck....unfortunately he's gone underground....but if i ever get the chance I'm on it ! =)
Seattle
New Westminster BC Canada
He wishes he never left the band... but if he hadn't... their wouldn't have been any devilocks. lol.
Jerry started the Devilocks...
Who cares
mick ronson yes! wow big muff was used!
it's outrageous this guy played almost all of their best songs and he gets almost erased from misfit history.
static age is essentially a greatest hits compilation- the songs are that good and each one is better than the last- and the guy people most associate with misfits guitarists is jerry's moody brother.
The beer Franche is talking about he drank in Canada was black label.
So the original chorus to WKM wound up getting moved to the outro.
very cool interview, i really liked franches guitar sound, it was like a heavier darker johnny ramone....its too bad that version of the misfits that recorded static age didn't stick around for a little longer!
I've got question about "Spinal Remains" Is it
I will not sit on broken glass, I will not cut my ass" Or is it the lyrics from the box set?
You have the lyrics correct....broken glass/cut my ass =)
Punk wasnt set in stone back then as it is now even with bands like the pistols and the Ramones there were still bands like the screamers and suicide its was more experimental in many respects aside from the 4 chord stuff
Why did the title "Feline Nursery" 'HAVE TO' be changed?
Inzo42 Glenn's Secret 😎
Could've sworn it was another band with a similar name or song. I forget the actual story
So much cooler than Doyle. When Doyle does an interview he always seems pissed off
Marcus Burns image upkeep
I think he has social anxiety issues
Andy, any idea why Feline Nursery was changed to Spinal Remains?
Not 100% sure...Feline Nursery is a better song tho!
When are you interviewing Bobby or another ex-misfit?
Coming Soon =)
Dark Ride Films Sweet, can't wait!..
dude, active ingredients had those 2 rad 7" in 1980.
anyways, GOOGY, STEELE...

Franches guitar style definitely had alot to do w/the early Misfits sound but he never had the right look.
G-Raw the right look.lol...sad
