I feel much worse this time around because it's evident how *hateful* people around me truly are because at least in 2016 you can make an argument that Trump was underestimated in what he could do (ex. no one saw Roe v Wade being overturned coming). But after January 6th, the ways he's behaved during Covid and the BLM protests (tear gas on protesters and journalists), and the garbage he spewed during the debate and outright calling Kamala a "bitch" and "retarded"; Voters saw ALL of that, and still chose "Yeah, that's my guy" because the other option had XX chromosomes. Let's be forreal this is a symptom of misogyny at an all time high, and much of the population around us don't care about women's ownership of their own bodies.
Today, I literally told my crush that if the country goes to hell, that I wanted her to know it's been an honor to spend time with her. The existential dread is so real, and I'm not even in a place in the States with a lot of political violence.
I just got to work and finally checked our national news. Y'all are cooked. I'm so sorry. It's really hard for me to not fall into catastrophic thinking about this, I've NEVER been so anxious about an election even in my own country. I'm SO worried how this'll affect the geopolitical situation and the situation in Europe, not to mention Palestine (although I have to confess that thinking about it has been painful for so long that I can't even imagine a mildly positive outcome anymore). Here's to hoping that there's some benevolent force that'll keep the worst of the right's plans at bay, especially when it comes to your human rights.

Right. The people who are stoked about this aren't the people getting their human rights taken away. I really hope life for us will continue is the best ways it can, but seeing how many people support him, I fear that that kind of hatred might become us.
it was gonna happen w harris or trump….harris was gonna continue the status quo (killing minorities, jailing them, killing people at the border, killing children in gaza, not securing or protecting any rights across the board), and trump….is going to continue the status quo. just faster and with more hatred. that’s how i view it.
I appreciate this comment. Hopefully the things he's said to appeal to the radicals will be changed along with some of the thing in P2025. I doubt it cause it's Trump but here's to hope🥂
me too. I’m stressing the fuck out as people discuss who they’re voting for and having to explain why I want to vote Kamala (I can’t I’m 16) as well as speculation, anger at Israel, and fear of “what is he wins again despite all odds?” update: he won. i am beyond scared for my own opinions, the freedoms of others, and the victims of the palestinian people. i feel like I can’t even try to protest without getting shot.
If you can and parents allow it. Atmosphere is hella weird after Election Day at school and I’m sure some verbal spats or fights may happen. Or you know whatever the results may be, according to astrology they say it will be Kamala. But hey if your parents are cool with it - I would go back in time and would’ve asked just to stay home and process. Regardless of results. Time to myself without the tensions of being in school that day and the motions. A self care day. I mean it may be fine but if you really need that time.m, I would just go ahead and ask.
I am swiss and my german friends and me talked yesterday how anxious we are about the elections since it will also influence our lives eventho we are not American. It is scary to see how much power the USA holds. We all almost had a panic attack after raging about right winged people, the lack of research that seems to be absolutely normal everywhere and common Trump memes that might even make people think of Trump in a lighthearted way and therefor make them even favorize him! I am an anxious mess and just hope for you Americans out there....that things turn out better. I wish it for the whole world.
They don’t “favorize”, they worship him. This country is rotting from the inside out. Most Americans just signed their rights away by voting for Trump. I turned 18 yesterday on November 5th. I'm queer, disabled, and I'm AFAB. Nothing says welcome to adulthood than fearing for my rights. Every birthday I usually think about how different my life would have been if I was born when I was supposed to be since I was born severely premature and was due in March of 2007 but was born in November of 2006. I came into this world fighting for my life, there is something so strangely poetic that I come of age fighting for my life too. Instead of worrying about what tattoo I'm gonna get, I worried about my safety and my health and if me and my girlfriend should get married before they try and take that away too. Even then, it won't matter. I turned 18 yesterday, and yet I already feel the weight of the world on my shoulders.
honestly, save up and leave. We're gonna be an authoritarian government. This is real. This isn't a "wait and see" type of deal. Now is the time of action, and that action isn't to stand and fight. It's to leave and let these people sit in the mess they've made. Because the ONLY authoritarian/fascist countries that were freed from their autocrat's thumb were the ones in Europe at the end of WWII. And that's because the allies made them do it. And it was easy because the US was one of the allies and economically stronger than those countries.

Ppl who voted for Trump is one thing but leftists who didn't vote or voted for some random party is something else entirely. What were you people thinking?
The (coughpossiblycoughrussiancough) propaganda the right has fallen for 100% exists on the left, too. Some folks were trying to convince other leftists that since the dems were pro 1srael that they’d be at fault for the violence going on right now, so vote for Jill or stay home, right? Well, when don is the other option, he’s just as much if not more so pro 1srael but he wants to take away your healthcare, human rights, and more at home, too. I’m also not big on what nato has done at times, but pulling out of it and blowing the whole org up at this point would be a disaster for Ukraine and destabilize the whole EU. Ofc there’s a chunk of lefties that don’t give a s**t about Ukraine, though I’m not a fan of all the moral superiority and one-upping over each other on the left, and I’m saying that as a leftist. This wasn’t supposed to be a matter of picking the candidate you like most but one of harm reduction. ofc some lefties have this nasty authoritarian streak which also doesn’t help
there is no good candidate. anyway, the only way the left could win is if they tried to appeal to conservative voters, but instead they were going for imaginary undecided voters, which just pushes away conservatives. so the fact that 1 % of leftists didnt vote doesnt make a difference
People are now justifying their passiveness by claiming Kamala wasn't "progressive enough". Well the future sure looks more progressive now, leftists enjoy your fascism!

My friends and I are hanging out, and as our most politically involved friend, I will be getting shit faced! I hope we still live in a free and fair America tmmrw patriots! Please be safe and dont antagonize the right like they do us! SOME OF THEM ARE VIOLENT 💗💗💗
My condolences with the loss of your country.
the first thing i did was start crying. as a transgender person in america, i have the privilege of living in a safe state. but with trump being president, it casts a shadow over the whole country. what if project 2025 happens and we cant talk about queer people in schools? my system of support would be gone. and now my healthcare is uncertain. im just terrified.
Suffering is the only way to achieve anything. Fear not your own fear, but rather succumbing to it, having to fight for your right to live is not a curse but a gift. In the coming years you will be tested, but with strength you can know you succeeded in living on your own terms and without kneeling to any who would wish to live above you.
@@LookingForIt-bw8urthis is what I’m trying to tell myself right now. When trump was first elected I was a teenager and I was upset but I didn’t really feel the weight of it at the time. Now I see a lot of comments from teenagers who weren’t able to vote yet, being extremely scared about the future. I’m 25 now and I can’t say I’m not scared. I’m scared for all of us who are women, people of color, lgbt, struggling with money and mental health, I’m terrified. But I have hope that this can bring about some big changes, hopefully…it’s really hard to have hope right now. My heart is so heavy. And I feel disgusted at how many people are lacking empathy. I just really hope it won’t be as bad as it could be.
Friends, my most vulnerable friends, remember that this is all temporary. Hold on, hold out, don’t let them win over your life. Show them you have the right to live and prosper by holding out. Your time will come, I promise. 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈🤰🏻🙅🏻♀️✊🏾
Climate change has passed its deadline.
Thank you so much for this comment. I needed it. I am a lifelong activist and my resolve is crumbling. ✊🏾
Is it? He openly stated that he was going to fix elections when he gets elected. It might be temporary in the sense of all things coming to dust, but I don't think a "this too will pass" sentiment is helpful right now from the very real fears people have in the immediate future
thank you
Watching this after the election is driving me nuts

nothing lasts forever - stay safe out there!
I’m fully heartbroken this morning. We aren’t crazy. It’s worth trying to envision a brighter future some day. Impossible right now but eventually
Luckily we exist and nothing and no one would stop us from doing so.
In 4 years not much can happen. We have always been discriminated and we know how to survive and prevail. This is sad but never the end.
This is so heartbreaking 💔💔💔💔💔
This is what we call coping, friend. So much can change overnight so in 4 years? Oh brother
Although I do think a lot can happen in 4 years I agree with the last part of your statement 100%. We cannot just bend the knee and roll over. It’s our right to stand up for ourselves and our future generations.
I was hoping you’d give yourself a break today. Breathe. 💙
As a 63 year old, white woman who fled the country 4 years ago (ironically when Biden had just won) because of tRump, Maga and a host of other, non political reasons (one big one - a final adventure in my life before I couldn't do it physically) - I am DISGUSTED that he won. I did vote all BLUE. Interested to see a reaction video from you. I'm heartbroken and a bit scared, because the US affects everyone and who knows what he'll do to Social Security and so many other programs people rely on. 😭💔 💙
Asking for a friend........where did you flee to? 😶
to all my lgbtq+ folks trans peeps women and everyone in between…as a fellow bisexual black women you all are in my thoughts rn i am legit having a slight panic attack…virtual hugs for all😭😭😭
We’ll get through this together! I can’t stop crying but we have to hold onto hope. Stay safe! Virtual hugs
my heart today is with all the trans people, immigrants and women in the US who could have their rights taken away

Im swedish and im so anxious. I feel for my fellow ukrainians and how the war will proceed through Europe.
Prayers to America that Kamala would win or literally anyone but Trump.
I'm not even American, but I'm just staring at my phone like. You guys are so fucked. Best of luck to ya'll.
The sad thing is, it's not just them. It's the climate, which affects us all. It's Ukraine.. It's Palestine.. We thought it was bad already, but both Putin and Netanyahu can do soooo much worse.
honestly dude i don't wish them ''luck'' they wanted to put that mf in office so thats what they got.
clicked on this thinking it was from today, nov 6th, because the title makes just as much sense after the results
Ppl who voted for Trump is one thing but leftists who didn't vote or voted for some random party is something else entirely. What were you people thinking?
You people yourself, Anna.
Ofc there’s a chunk of lefties that don’t give a s**t about Ukraine, though
I’m not a fan of all the moral superiority and one-upping over each other on the left, and I’m saying that as a leftist.
"Vote third party" I'M IN YOUR WALLS SHUT UUPPPP
i feel u man i'm literally pretending nothing is happening, not out of apathy but out of pure anxiety 😭
i'm australian, and the way my heart is in my throat is horrifying; i can't imagine how those in the US are feeling
It’s probably joever for Kamala atp…
It's wild just how low-key Aussie elections compared to the anxiety-inducing circus that is US elections.
I’m feeling like if Dump wins tomorrow, I’m just gonna match the the circus energy and become the god damned Joker. Maybe Pennywise, depending on how violently angry I feel.

All impending facism aside, that outfit it so cute!
I can’t help but come to the conclusion that the United States wasn’t ready for a Black woman as president- I’ve been in most of the US at this point, and some white populations are incredibly isolated and hold on to bigoted values.
My heart hurts. My head hurts. I struggle to understand how people willing chose to vote for him. Take care of yourself today, D’Angelo 💜
This election is PROOF that a lot of Americans still hate women and POC. The misogynistic comments that have come out are insane. Meanwhile, they have absolutely no standards for trump. It’s genuinely frightening.
As a fellow American who has cast their vote…I’m now just trying to get through today.

To be fair, that Onion video you showed at 0:26 is completely satire. It had nothing to do with the current election. All of there videos are just news jokes.
It’s that even the satire has to surround the election
Yeah I am not American but my feed on every app has a lot of election posts, whether it's satire, news or shit posting, its still hard to feel like you can't get away from it without going offline altogether - which is great if you don't need the internet for your job etc
