@@jamesjefferson8916 Hey, the Helios will produce a very interesting and vintage look, but as far as colours you'll need to do that in post. The things you might notice are softer highlights and shadows, not perfect sharpness throughout the frame, some chromatic aberration and blooming, and flares. The flares will introduce new colours that aren't in your scene like blues and oranges but that's the only major colour differences you'll notice compared to a modern lens.
Hey Lucas, thanks so much 🙏🏼 I just made those in Fusion using some simple keyframing. You can probably do something similar with whatever software you use, I'm just very careful on smoothing out the in and out points, hope that helps!
@@underpaid229oh that’s just a step up ring so my clip on matte box will fit on my lenses. I’ve got one on all my lenses so the outer diameter is the same. They come with the matte box
Yep, I first adapted my step dad’s 35mm camera. In the kit was a super tak 50mm 1.4 and a 28mm 2.5. Both are m42 mount. Making it easy to adapt to EF and really anything else. I don’t think I want any new lens….
That's awesome! I've been wanting to personally try a Super Takumar. I almost purchased the 24mm 3.5 but ended up getting the FD 2.8 instead. How do you like them?
Some vintage lenses used to be cheaper than electronic lenses but now some are even more expensive. I have more than 10 vintage lenses and since 2018 I see the increase in price and sometimes without reason.
Yes, I have definitely seen an increase in price for the more desired lenses, especially on ebay. I have this awesome local shop in the Toronto area that is very reasonable with their lenses and cameras. What's your favorite lens you own?
@focalplanefilms wow that sounds really cool. Just looked up that lens and I see what you mean, looks like a lot of people like adapting it to the BMPCC
Have you tried using vintage lenses?
Awesome video Andrik! I have 3 Canon FD lenses and love them! My next one will be the Helios lens
@CreatorMelvin oh that's awesome! Sweet, you'll love that one for sure :)
@@AndrikLangfield I trust that I will too!
so does this Helios 44mm lens produce vintage color photos right after you shoot without post editing? I'm in dire need of one.

You have inspired me. Im getting a camera!
That's so great to hear :) there have been so many amazing cameras made in the last few years!
Andrik! Great color, great tips, one random question. What title resources are you using for your chapter markers @ 00:36, 02:18 and 04:08?

What is the filter?
Do you mean the colour grade or a filter in front of the camera?

@joseacarrasm oh sweet, I'll have to try that one 👍🏼
Love vintage lenses but to be honest your music is mixed so high I gave up listening/watching 30seconds in...
Fair enough, thanks for the feedback. Nice setup on that B4 video by the way, that was pretty neat how you got it to work with the FX30 👍🏼
Thanks I was surprised how well it worked. At the moment I’m trying to work out how to mount the Meteor 5-1 17-69 f1.9… loved that lens on the BM 🙂
