I feel as great as the new seasons of Taskmaster have been, the drawing task with Ed Gamble and David Baddiel will always rank as my favourite ever moment on the show just because of Ed's great breakdowns.
The comedic timing of that third attempt: you just know Ed thought to himself "okay, no talking, just do exactly what's there" and then for him to step back satisfied with what he'd done, a beat, then looking at what David drew.
Saying "Have I been put on a team with David Baddiel?" like he'd done something wrong, and Greg and Alex (correctly) assuming it'd be enough of a handicap to compensate for the team of two having an easier time with the task
James Acaster being so confrontational to the taskmaster was hilarious. The mystique of the taskmaster being the imposing be-all, end-all presence was diluted by a young upstart.

I feel like it really depends on the workaround. Like, making some phone calls for the “make the biggest mess and clean it up all in 10 minutes” task is in one sense lazy, and I’m sure not what they intended, but it’s clever and works. On the other hand, flushing an eraser down to toilet to “completely erase the eraser,” is just lazy and a wankerly non-solution. They know that there’s a really good chance that somebody is going to go hunting, and they do do a lot of planning, like stocking the house with items that begin with Q, just in case somebody happened to pick it. I mean, I’m positive that it isn’t a coincidence that they not only had coconut water in the fridge while they were doing a task to drink a tablespoon of coconut water, but also wrote the task ostensibly about opening coconuts to get to the water in such a way that it didn’t mention opening coconuts at all, talking about the tools you use for your “extraction method,” instead of “the tools you use to open the coconut,” so you can just extract it from the carton.

I think he did genuinely try on the last drawing, and Ed shook hands with him at the end but Ed probably thought it was funny to play up his complete bewilderment at his drawing. Also what makes things worse on Daisy's one is that was the series right after Ed and David's, so it just seemed like an inferior copy in comparison

Then a hippo was the only animal I could imagine someone drawing as a rectangle standing half-in half-out of water.

Most of the outbursts are pretty funny and the only person who gets disparaged is the Taskmaster, who sets himself up for those kinds of jokes. Daisy’s was just insulting Richard for something that was her own fault. I agree she was kind of hard to watch in the series. From what I understand, she was going through a lot at the time even on top of the pregnancy, but to be honest that just makes it even more painful to look back on 😦
If I were in Ed Gamble's shoes in that, I would have thrown the whole task just to make sure David didn't have a chance of winning, and I would have accused him of sabotaging the task just incase he had a secret sabotage task.

It bothers me that aubergines are pronounced oberjeans and on the other side of the world, they're called eggplants but look nothing like an egg or an earth based plant for that matter.
When I imagine a hippo - the first concept that springs to mind is one of bulbousness, of roundness. If you look at an image of a hippo, you will see that almost every part of it is rounded and curved. It's ears are almost perfect little circles, whereas it's eyes are. It's muzzle is a wide oval that projects from a head and neck that appear egg-shaped from the front. It's large body is like a rugby ball; ovoid in shape from whichever direction you view it from. My point is that you'd have to be unique variety of maniac to choose to represent one by drawing a single equilateral square conjoined to a single rectangle. 7:12

About the satsuma task, the actual task does not say at any point that you cannot empty the sock. You cannot look inside but if you open it and hold it upside down, you can see release whatever was inside right? Or would that have been against the rules?

I'm not from the UK and sometimes you have celebrities that I find myself asking how someone that unlikeable garnered their fame. A good example is Big Narstie, you guys seem to love him but he's not remotely funny and employs people to lose it at his subpar attempts at jokes. Daisy is easily one of the most baffling, she was a total bitch in her series and almost all of her solutions to the puzzles were daft.

when they are small they don't have the purple pigmentation yet. So they look exactly like ordinary white chicken eggs growing from the ground haha

@@scalefree no the task was find the Satsuma and although Tangerines and Satsumas are both Citrus fruit they are not grown from the same pips and are therefore two different types of fruit.

About the satsuma task, the actual task does not say at any point that you cannot empty the sock. You cannot look inside but if you open it and hold it upside down, you can see release whatever was inside right? Or would that have been against the rules?

I'm not from the UK and sometimes you have celebrities that I find myself asking how someone that unlikeable garnered their fame. A good example is Big Narstie, you guys seem to love him but he's not remotely funny and employs people to lose it at his subpar attempts at jokes.
Daisy is easily one of the most baffling, she was a total bitch in her series and almost all of her solutions to the puzzles were daft.
They're rarely universally loved.

@@notster7114 yeah, outside the New Year Treat specials Daisy is the ONLY contestant in the history of the show who comes across as a nasty person in real life.
I mean this isn't Hollywood, its a bunch of (mostly) C list British celebrities.
Though it does seem like the quality/notoriety of the contestants drops with each series. Maybe they have a hard time getting people on the show.
@@randomd286 Given we're 16 series and 80 contestants in there are only so many high profile comedy types to choose from some degree of drop off in not quality but recognised talent is probably inevitable but I'd argue they've maintained a fairly consistent approach of usually at least one almost universally well known to the UK public contestant, a couple of relative unknowns who are usually great and a couple of names familiar to most fairly into the UK comedy scene.
