    THANK YOU!!!! I'm new to gelli plates (and loving it!) and I was afraid I did something to ruin my plate. Your videos are the best. So glad I found you. 🙏🏻

    Two years after purchasing a 12x14” gel plate I finally opened the packaging this Spring (Lol!) and found many air bubbles on both sides. I placed it on flat plastic, covered the plate top with sturdy deli paper and put a heavy book on top. It took until late summer to get rid of some bubbles on the top side. There's still one large bubble but the outer edge isn't as sharp to the touch. I weighed down that spot with a small cast iron fry pan and more weight in the pan. After a few weeks the bubble is still there but I can use the plate with no circles in the pulled prints. I live in a dry climate but the plate is providing prints as good as plates with no air bubbles. I haven't even had to work baby oil into it yet. Moral of my story is to not give up.

    I noticed those bubbles and wondered what I did to cause them. Good to know it's just from living in a hot summer climate and maybe keeping them in their clam-shell cases (mine always touched in the clam-shells). I now keep them in the metal cases. Now to try your tips getting the bubbles out. Thanks Carolyn.

    I’m definitely a newbie here, but what about the bottom of the gel plate? Do you always use the same side and does it matter? Does the bottom get bubbles too?? Thank you!

    Very helpful, Carolyn! If my plate needs a good cleaning I will use Murphy’s oil soap and follow up with a little baby oil massage. Since using paper to cover the clean gel plates aIr bubbles do seem to be less of a problem.

    So interesting! I have just noticed bubbles very recently, and like you, I've had my plates for years and never had them before. But we did have extended hot weather this year here in the Pacific NW, so your theory would fit my situation as well. Thanks for the information!

    Quick Question: I don't have baby oil but I do have almond oil and coconut oil. Do you think I can use either of those?

    Wow! Thank you sooo much for this tip 💗
    Can I ask, I’ve seen a lot of people say you can store you plate on paper, but since paper pulls out the oil.. what will happend if you store your plate on paper and don’t touch them for a few months? Will they get ruined in any way?

    • @CarolynDube
      @CarolynDube  3 роки тому +1

      I can't say since I haven't stored them that way for an extended period of time. I've shared my thoughts about it at ua-cam.com/video/KxYNJw3nFAk/v-deo.html

    I hate to tell you this but I store mine touching each other and they are on a shelf where the next shelf is about four feet from them. And the small ones of weird shapes are touching each other on my desk. I have never had air bubbles. I also use one gel plate as my palate lol. Hopeless
