Yes, in 1995 I was two hours out of prison and I knelt down in front of the rocking chair and gave the Lord my heart. He had to reach way down, but today I am a pastor.
Not only his depth but you can understand every syllable. Listen up folks. This is REAL bass singing. You don't bury the other parts, you give them a good foundation to build their tones on. The bass voice is the most powerful of the octaves. Tim undetstood this more than any other bassist. Everyone is going to get their shot at showing out, but the tone of the blend (harmony) is what makes outstanding vocals. It's something most groups never get.
I admire his deep and harmonically rich vocals. When he bursts into the deepest notes, the zone washes over me. Tim, to many more years and to many more songs!
Greatest Bass Singer Ever. I honestly don't see how it can be disputed. Singing low is one thing, singing low and sounding Great is a whole other and he does both! Great song.
I was just thinking to myself after the song that Mr. Riley’s quality of tone/depth ratio is absolutely extraordinary. He was, is, and always will be the best.
Absolutely the greatest Bass singer (Tim Riley) and Tenor singer (Brian Free) in history right here in one group on one of the greatest songs in Gospel music history!!!
Once my soul was astray from the 5 heavenly 1 way I was wretched and 5 vile as could 1 be But my Savior in love, gave me 4 peace from a 1 bove When he reached down His 5 hand for 1 me When the Savior reached 4 down for me When he reached down His 2 hand for 5 me I was 1 lost and undone, without 4 God or His 1 Son When he reached down His 5 hand for 1 me I was near to despair when He came to me there And He showed me that I could be free Then He lifted my feet, gave me gladness complete When He reached down His hand for me How my heart doth rejoice when I hear His sweet voice And the tempest to Him I can flee There to lean on His arms, safe secure from all harm Since he reached down his hand for me
I've spoken with Tim Riley at length about his vocal range. He said there isn't a song he sings where he sings his lowest note possible. He said the lowest note he sings is the ending note on "By Your Grace for Your Glory". This just proves the amazing bass Tim Riley is. I am no doubt his biggest fan.
There comes a time in every1's life when you need to STOP and just think. Things have been going awesome for me and my family, yet still, this song has made me stop and think, whats really important to me, people around me, future planning, the love I have for those around me. I have had this song on repeat for an hr for my morning wake up. The power of positive songs is incredible. Bass just makes it more awesome. I agree with glh104753. Tim is super smooth. Happy days from New Zealand
@@onecolossalrubikscube2554 That's not really true. Some humans can sing a C1 without subharmonics, but it is incredibly rare. Tim is just a very rare breed of bass singer.

Never quite saw the "Nashville Number System" used like this before. But it is a simplified version of how to chord out a song. Providing you understand the basic concept.
they say his lowest note he sings is by your grace for your glory, but if u listen to gods building a church towards the end he goes to hit that note sounds like he has trouble hitting it as if thats bout bottom . if he can get lower i never heard it . the closest ive ever heard to it is when he ends "everyday" with eric bennett at nqc and they fall at the end. so idk thats my opinion
Oh...here's the clip:watch?v=eo_lUP_Jdt0&feature=related No mic. The person recording this is several rows back in the audience. Dude is beast. When I say the guy can "rip" (referring to Tim Riley and Glenn Miller etc) I suppose the best description would be clear resonance...there's just something much different with them. The best russian basses have it too, although after about Ab1 or G1 they go into a weird "OH" sound and it sounds too covered/weird. Riley doesn't do that.
I have never heard of Glenn MIller...Who does he sing with? One other question, what does rip mean? I have heard that term before just have no idea what it means! I agree, to some peoples surprise, Russian basses aren't the be all to end all of bass singers! To prove that point, Tim Storms one a vocal search to sing the E1 on a choral piece with the ST Petersburg Choir in Russia! either the so called greats didn't try for this classical piece or they aren't all they are cracked up to be?!
Stumbled onto something else...at the 5 minute mark of this vid, the interviewer asks Glenn Miller to sing something impressively low and without a thought he sings an "Ah" that was forte and it was a clear G#1 like it was easy as breathing! lol...I hope you can go to it: w's in front... king5.com/new-day-northwest/The-Illumni-Mens-Chorale-147997495.html

100%. Not even a debate. Best quality of any bass singer!

Yes, Mr. Riley has the most extraordinary harmonic tone you name it he has it. Truly a God given talent.

This is one of my all time favorite songs. Tim effortlessly hits a low G1 at the end. No one can do it any better than Tim. Love it!
That G1 melts like butter at the end...Tim is the man!
28 years ago the Savior reached down for me and pulled me from alcohol and drugs. Today I pastor a church.
that same hand is holding me today, thank you God. Tim is the best there ever was along with the late George younce .
kelton Thomas lol I totally agree! But you forgot my dad 😉 Tim Duncan. One day I will sing this song with him watching me. I can’t wait for that day 😊

1:57-2:04 great harmony I can't stop listening to that part and the whole song. Amazing

I admire the Tennor Voice because his capabilities to sing that high and clear is imaculate

Beautiful version
Talk about reaching way down. That voice!
Amen to that! He's the best!
Gosto muito da voz e das músicas do Tim Riley. Que Deus o abençoe grandemente!
When he reached down his hand for me.
O melhor baixo que já ouvi: em técnica, qualidade e beleza.
I'm so glad He reached down His hand for me!
anyone like the high tennor
Best part.
Wow...but NOBODY sings a G1 like Tim Riley does!
He's the Best!
Very nice 👌!!!!!
Glenn Miller is right up there with him. Respect to them both. Modal voice is the way to go.
I asked Tim this after a concert and he told me it was about Eb1, which is a major third below the lowest notes here.
❤❤❤
Awesome

Músicas lindas
The note at 2:50 as well as the last note is a G1 (lowest G on the piano).
how disrespectful to see 3 unlikes for this video
Robert Strouse , really?
Yes really. One of if not the greatest bass singer of all time.
Haters gonna hate.
Robert Strouse I agree I love his bass voice may not be deepest but what a voice
@@darrensummerall9956 Tim has a magnificent voice, but my favorite still has to be J.D.
Agreed. Glenn Miller is a beast too. Dude can rip. Tim Riley and Glenn Miller proves that Russia doesn't have a monopoly on certain kind of bass.

Glenn Miller is an open basso profundo that claims no group of allegiance to.
What is his lowest note??
In this Song G1 but in General it's F1
what is the note that he ends with?
G1
Finally, he sings several Bb1's in this russian piece: king5.com/new-day-northwest/Shoutout-Goodbye-and-More-Illumni-147966715.html
