I have the same unit. It was a nightmare to put together. I almost returned it bad and 4 years later I still cringe when I think back to that experience. Once together it does a good job both dethatching and aerating but nothing like a pro unit. I am happy with my purchase today as after a few years it has paid for itself.
The two parts with the clevis pins go in the side open holes on the black part with the spring for the Dethatcher and probably the same for the aerator. It was hell putting it together. I was missing a lot of bolts and nuts. Needed to use both the quick and book assembly instructions. Also my tires are flat and there doesn’t seem to be any pressure numbers on them. I hope it works well. Good luck. I’d get it assembled if you can.
I have the same set up but the agri-fab. It works ok, nothing great. The wheel posts are very cheap and it seems like every year these wear out and cause me a real pain. Thin metal and not a good set up for attaching the replacement posts. They wear out when making turns. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
Nice video. Mine got delivered yesterday, and I was expecting limited assembly like you. After watching this, I definitely have a project ahead of me. Thanks for the nice video. Do you put concrete blocks on yours, if so, how many?
Thank you! I do put blocks on it when I aerate, not when I dethatch. The amount of block depends on how far you want to plung into the ground. When I aerate I use 3 blocks and it plunges approximately 2 inches. Hope your assembly goes well and the machine works for you in the spring!
Good video. Hardware store where I live charges $25 to assemble. They are a JD Dealer farmer community store so after watching you, I’ll just pay them the $25! Thanks.
I've been trying to find one of these, they are sold out everywhere there were a couple places online but shipping was close to 200 dollars. Any Ideas on how to find one with free shipping ?
Usually, about this time of year, the supplier John Deere gets these from runs a special where they don't charge freight. In my experience, the dealer will pass that on to the customer, and not charge shipping. I would suggest contacting you local dealer and asking them if they are running such a special. Also, this is an identical model to the Agri-Fab "smart link" model. Perhaps you could find one of those? It just won't be JD green.
Typical John D. Instructions for any attachment. Try putting on the snow blower for the first time and the 44 gras cutter. They are NOT very clear and everything that attaches to your tractor is a “day” job.
Dude that was terrible I am struggling just like you did I have no help and you are right direction are horrible my best advice buy each one separate . You should have slowed it down ,but I have been at it for 4 hours that why you did a fast forward
Hard to bend those dethatcher tine tabs in. Really wrenching on it, feels like I'm going to snap a screwdriver in half

Really wanted to see the aerator in action. The instructions tell you how sharp the tines are and to be careful.

I would suggest putting the tire pressure to 10PSI.

$25? Dirt cheap. Worth every penny.
Nice vid. How well does each attachment work? Can it get heavy enough to pull plugs pretty well?
You don't show how you actually put both units together

The very first part was even wrong trying to assemble it because it said Use Is bolt w with the bb nut!
can you use this for armadillo damage
I am not familiar with what damage an armadillo can cause. Could you describe the damage, please?
@@MillsEngineWorks will i know Armadillos like to dig holes
Then I would say no, it won't fix armadillo damage. If there is a dirt mound left over, it may knock the mound over, bit it won't fill a hole.
Your handle is on backyards it should face towards the inside.

Looks identical to an Agra-Fab
It is. Made for John Deere by Agri-fab.
In fact, most, if not all JD tow behind attachments are made by either Agri-fab or Brinly Hardy.
Music way to high
I hate mine lol.
That sucks! What about it don't you like?
