Yes, that's the problem with the vanity of UA-camrs. I noticed it in several places in this reaction. All the talking for the sake of talking and looking at the camera means you miss crucial parts.
The cinematography - which you spoke of, sir: Almost _no one_ picks up on this. Whenever a character is looking *directly* into camera... they're talking _to_ Clarice. In the reverse shots, Jodie Foster is looking *slightly* OFF camera. Like the danger of Hannibal within the story this is meant to get "inside your head." We, the audience, subconsciously _become_ Clarice as the camera slowly pulls us into the abyss. Dir Demme pulled the same "trick" in his Manchurian Candidate remake as well as Philadelphia. Demme's subtle brilliance cannot be overstated. RIP, genius.

The lambs were the victims of Bill. They were being slaughter, silenced, and skinned. Clarice had a need to save victims. That’s why she was so fearless and determined. Hannibal needed to know why this small woman was who she was. She intrigued him. Most would not have come back after the first visit.
The character Buffalo Bill was partly based upon the real-life Wisconsin serial killer Ed Gein. Gein was also the inspiration behind Norman Bates in Psycho.
Not sure if someone mentioned this yet or not, but in the book the handcuff key Hannibal had made was actually a very methodical years long project he had been working on. For the movie’s purposes, they simply made you think that there was someway he was able to get a hold of the pen.
This movie was the first movie I ever saw in a theater by myself. I was really into psychology at the time, and this was my favorite movie for a long time too. Still is in my top 10. I have a death’s head moth tattoo, as well as Dali’s “In Voluptus Mors,” the skull made up of 7 naked women that makes up the moth’s face on the movie poster. Can’t believe all these incredible 90s films are 30 years old now. Such a great decade for movies. Maybe the best ever.

The exact wording is "appearing on screen for little more than 16 minutes" which reasonable people take as how long he's in the movie for (you don't win an Oscar strictly for "on screen" time), and by my DVD copy that translates to 34 minutes 54 seconds including voice time as he enters then exits each of the ten scenes he is in. Nice reaction, and as in most of your reactions, I appreciate your the use of humor and irony. Two prequels to this story, "Manhunter" and "Red Dragon" are quite good. The sequels are not great, IMO. What IS great is the streaming show "Hannibal," one of the most artistically beautiful shows ever produced. The acting is also first rate, and although difficult to believe, the Hannibal Lector played by Mads Mikkelsen is even better than Hopkin's. Mads did have a full three seasons to enact subtleties and nuances that feature films don't permit.

When people have seizures, they can swallow their tongues and die. People often use a spoon or something to hold their tongues down while help comes. Miggs was insane, so Hannibal probably drove him to spazz so that he choked on his tongue.

It never fails to amaze me how many reactors criticize her decision to talk about her personal life. It was the ONLY way to get his cooperation.

You asked about a sequel, Red Dragon is technically a prequel, made after Silence of the Lambs, but in my opinion it's fantastic. Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Anthony Hopkins, Philip Seymour Hoffman, a bunch of great performances and a really intriguing story. I also loved the book version. Worth checking out! This was my first time seeing one of your reactions, and I really enjoyed it. Gonna have a look around your channel for more!

Another way above average film reaction, Mr. V...been appreciating yr style for a few months now, lovely to see an extensive/comprehensive vocabulary put to good use! Must add only 1 thing (OCD? Nah...just fan-girling lofl): author Thomas Harris only wrote (as far as we know anyway) the four novels-turned-screenplays we know & love...I can't stress strongly enough everyone should at least try to READ the books. Freaking amazing. Yeah, I'm talking to you ❤❤❤❤

There are only a few movies that ever leave in imprint on our psyche. This is one of them.

Nice reaction, and as in most of your reactions, I appreciate your the use of humor and irony. Two prequels to this story, "Manhunter" and "Red Dragon" are quite good. The sequels are not great, IMO. What IS great is the streaming show "Hannibal," one of the most artistically beautiful shows ever produced. The acting is also first rate, and although difficult to believe, the Hannibal Lector played by Mads Mikkelsen is even better than Hopkin's. Mads did have a full three seasons to enact subtleties and nuances that feature films don't permit.

If you're looking for psycho killer movies I highly recommend Hitchcocks "Psycho" and "Misery" directed by Rob Reiner based on a book written by Stephen King.
When people have seizures, they can swallow their tongues and die. People often use a spoon or something to hold their tongues down while help comes. Miggs was insane, so Hannibal probably drove him to spazz so that he choked on his tongue.

Dog, you’re smart as hell and really well spoken. I can really tell that you appreciate cinema! In my opinion this is the greatest movie ever made. One flew over the cuckoo’s nest is my number two choice, definitely worth watching if you haven’t seen it already.

I watch a lot of reaction videos, and to be honest most of what gets recommended to me is just more of the same. People posting reactions to very popular films or music but only offering limited or non-expansive commentary of the media and their experience with it.
I must say that your channel so far is an epic breath of fresh air. I really feel like your commentary is honest. You watch movies like I do - digesting as much as possible; not allowing details to slip by.
