Hi Nick, congrats for this my friend. I am José Bernardino, from Brasil. I am a Meliponicultor . Today we have an urban meliponary with 15 colonies of stingless bees, today we have Tetragonisca angustula (Jatai), Plebeia droryana (Mirim-droryana), Plebeia remote (Mirim-guaçu) and Melipona marginata (Manduri). Happy to participate of this wonderful world of stingless bees...hehehe
Very interesting. Looking forward to seeing how it works going forward. Nice touch, opening it up for public input from other honey bee enthusiasts. I wish you all the best!
Maybe the part where the rod is usually stucked is made of stainless metal where you can heat it a bit from outside to soften the propolis and help to make the push.
Fantastic concept Nick, this will be a game changer! If you have trouble with the propolis jamming up the system, have you considered making it so that the rods protrude and can be rotated individually? More time consuming than sliding them all at once, but maybe easier overall if prone to jamming. I love your work mate 👍
very smart invention, but what if the bees dont place pots in exact correct spots and then when you push the rods in it may just break the struts or squash all the pots together, maybe it needs a 3d printed pot honey comb on each level also? also didnt see it installed on a hive with the plug or do you just use wax for plugging? thanks Greg
I have had this idea for a while now, not anything like yours though. I have a question. What is your opinion on bee space tolerances within crawl space within honey chamber. In my experience with tree hollows and native bees, i see no general dimensions to follow for getting a single layer of honey pots to line up.?
Hi, I find U most interesting!! I just subscribed, Im new to stingless bees hehe Ive tried to collect them for over 10 yrs. now hehe I gave up!! Where ever I didnt want the bees they were there hehe like in my close closet in the house even in the cardboard boxes hehe. Well, couple months ago I noticed the little bees have two hives out side the house in the concrete foundation PERFECT hehe. I feel like a proud father!! Since finding them Ive set up a trap or bamboo bee box off of the main hive, hoping in about 6 months to remove and have my first move-able hive for our property. I live in the Philippines on a mountain top, the little bees here are very plentiful or shall I say to our property since I have 40 or so fruit trees. Any advice would be great!! Thanks Jim. Love Ur work and channel of education.
Hey Nick... best wishes for Chrissie and New Year. Looks like Scomo’s lockdowns are working... what’s happened to you? Just taking a break?? Cheers, Johno 🍺🍻🍺🍻
Great work Nick!! You're a very bright young man. So, can we expect a GoFundMe or other fundraising project soon? This is certainly a great project!! Cheers mate

Not sure I’ll have time. I’m going to Tafe atm. But maybe someone will contact me and take it on.
