That edge looks really messed up, tip will be overheated guaranteed and you cheated on the bess tester in the end of the video since you did it way faster than the first test and way to fast in general. I would immediately asked for my money back ...
@@teodiofauss5806 yeah there is no other way. I once ruined the tip of a knife by sharpening on sandpaper by HAND with finer grits and no water. Had to remove a bit of steel afterwards to remove the overheated tip part
@@cedrics1220how the hell did you overheat it by hand sanding??? I use a 1x30 and have never overheated an edge… light pressure, don’t have to chew into it aggressively. If you do it right, you’ll never get over 30 degree Fahrenheit temp increase on the edge or tip.
You’re not wrong… I don’t like that he didn’t use any angle guide. There’s a huge difference between lifespan of a 15 degree edge and a 17 degree edge for the same steel hardness, but you’d be hard pressed to find someone that’s that accurate sharpening freehand.
Sensational !!!

your convex works very well. Could you tell what you put under the tape and how you glued it?

Took a lot of experience to do convex edge. I’m not sure what you’re talking about the tape

I think the same: overheated. Normally I use Tormek a simply grinding wheel water cooled, I like his nice and durable result.
