    Giving a child steroids. First of all, they're risking destroying his hormonal and endocrine systems. He's seven years old, 4'3" (on the tall side for his age) and 102 kg (223 lbs). That gives him a body-mass index (BMI) of 63. Ideal for a boy his age and height is between 13.7 and 17.4, which means he should weigh between 80 and 101 pounds (36-49 kg). Assuming a halfway point, let's say 90 lbs, he's 133 lbs overweight. That means 60% of his weight is extra weight. The ideal bodyfat percentage for a child his age is 13-20% of your bodyweight. He's *at least* 60% bodyfat, is probably closer to 73-80% bodyfat, since the normal 13-20% bodyfat would be counted in his base weight (the 90 lbs he should be). But some of that extra weight might be his denser, older-bones. So, let's say he's 75% bodyfat. That's morbidly obese. Three-quarters of his body is fat. And this woman thinks it's muscle.
    By the way, if any of you Google this mythical Sosruko character, he's depicted in art as a traditional lean-muscular physique, with broad shoulders, developed pecs, lats, arms, and quads, and a lean midsection. Not a fatass. This woman and all the enablers around them are delusional.

As shown on an episode of Body Shock, Campbell and other health care professionals urged Dzambik's mother to help the boy eat a better diet and lose weight to improve his health, but Nelya rejected their advice and insisted the boy was healthy and capable of becoming a sumo wrestler or other sportsman. In 2006, journalist Nick Patton Walsh wrote in The Guardian that Nelya demanded money in order for him to meet Dzambik..."

    • @JillianHadley
      @JillianHadley 8 років тому +2

      Definitely not munchausen or munchausen by proxy. People have to make someone else sick/fake an illness in themselves for it to be munchausen. They have to knowingly cause/fake an illness, intentionally, cause the being sick part is key. Neither Dzambulat Khatokhov, nor his parents, believe he is sick. They think this is a good thing. They think he is (or was when filming this, at least) healthy. They think it's an honor to be the biggest boy in the world. They wanted (and, apparently, he still wants) him to be a sumo wrestler. I'm not sure what psychiatric disorder causes this issue, though I am 100% certain there has to be one. I just know it absolutely isn't munchausen/munchausen by proxy.
      For what it's worth, at 16 he was 500lbs. This is just absurd. I can't explain it.

    What do you mean WHY can't any doctor say he's big but healthy? Maybe that's because he's NOT healthy! He doesn't look healthy, and some of the tests that the doctors have done proved that he will suffer later in life. That mother is just thinking too much of herself.

    According to Wikipedia he died in 2020 at the age of 21. Though no cause of death was released, reports claimed his death was due to “kidney problems”. When he was 18 he weighed 507 lb (230kg). Through the help of a trainer he was able to lose 119 lb (54kg). Sadly, this attempted change in lifestyle came too late to save his life.

    As I write this, Jambik died about two months ago in December of 2020 at the age of 21. Allegedly the media reported it was due to kidney problems. In a 100% unrelated note, anabolic steroids can cause major kidney dysfunction and even cause them to fail. His last (that I could find) weight was 176 kg (388 lbs) at age 18.

    Absolutely horrifying story. If it really is the case that Jambik's mother is trying to lift the family out of poverty by grooming Jambik for sumo wrestling, she needs to know that the way things are going with him, he could be dead before he's 20 and then where will the family be? In other words, by not getting him to lose weight and having a healthier lifestyle, she's not just endangering his life but if she's so selfishly inclined, she's also endangering the family's material prospects.
    If she really wants to lift the family out of poverty I have a far better and healthier suggestion. Her older son, Jambik's brother, in case anyone noticed, is exceptionally handsome--I mean strikingly so. Wouldn't it make more sense to encourage the older son to go for a career in modelling and to rather focus on Jambik's health?

Did she really have the knowledge that giving him steroids for a short period of time would result in this? Or did he show signs of becoming obesee as an infant so she decided to not only encourage it but also to give him steroids to make sure he does? She was a single mother and probably quite poor so how could she afford to buy steroids and feed his growing appetite?
