This video is from the absolute beginner's section of JapanesePod101 website so why upload it to youtube? Just wondering. I am going to an event on Saturday 4th of March where I live (I don't live in Japan but the UK) called hina-matsuri, I went last year and enjoyed it. Has there been any videos on the many events in Japan? If there is I probably haven't got to that section on your website yet.

I am actually learning Korean but I decided why not learn Japanese too?! Honestly, the first time I tried learning Hirigana, Katakana and Kanji I physically screamed because of how difficult it was at first. But watching this I realise that with patience and motivation(aka anime) Japanese isn't as hard and annoying to learn. I think I should take it one step at a time, Korean first since I know a little bit more and then Japanese but learning the language is my goal!I find hangeul and some parts of Korean easier but Japanese grammar feels slightly more easy. Plus my voice which is quite deep for a girl naturally goes a bit higher making me feel cuter when I speak Japanese. Wish me luck!

I hope it’s going well for you! I’m actually coming from 2 years of learning Korean and I’m relieved because Japanese sentence structure is actually very similar to Korean. Same with pronunciation of some of the characters.

Update? 저도 한국어를 배우고 있습니다. 그리고 저도 일본어를 배우고 싶어서 히라가나와 같아가나를 공부했습니다. 하지만 저에게 한국어가 진짜 더 쉬운 것 같아요. 저의 발음은 의외로 좋지만 문법 더 어렵다고 생각해요.

I should have started with this video and then with the LEARN HIRAGANA lessons. Thanks for the video. That little bit of grammar info just blew my mind. It all makes sense now. I think im gonna not move ahead. I think im going to take this lesson and start over ! redo everything already done. I bet its going to be much more fun this time. Wish me luck.
