I want nothing to do with this bike, I'm just watching to support the channel. Why? Because i love you guys. Thats why. I LOVE the dynamic with your father and that you say I love you on the radio. Seriously, I love it.
About the new mic, it shows your voice so clearly that it seems to have been recorded later and added the voice-over. I particularly like to hear the noise of the gravel/tires. Also in the comments I saw someone said that could eventually help diagnose some weird noise from the bike and that's true. Great videos guys
I just spit coffee all over my desk at work when you kicked out that kickstand. I have not seen one used in forever. Even my kids bikes don't have them. 9:00
The new mic has no back ground noise when you are talking it’s like your in a room somewhere else doing a play by play, I’m not a fan of this I like to hear the sounds of the bike going over gravel. Lol who would have thought 💭
Vocal audio is so clear it sounds like it was added after recording. That said, being able to also hear the trail and bike sounds makes for a better review imo. Viewers will also be able to help you diagnose issues from the various squeaks, pings, and clicks the bike makes as you put it through its paces.
Not a bad bike, but obviously made for lesser trails. I would think for $500, it would have a little better standard equipment as well. Better tires, NOT a 2x drivetrain (even though it's decent), fix that seat post.. you know... But, that was a great review and an HONEST review. Love ir!
The Audio was amazing well done guys. Well well well that was surprising after all the noise from polygon owners about the full squishers (Siskiu series) those bikes sound amazing BUT when you come down a notch or two the hardtails seem like theyve cut to many corners to save production costs......... "Polygon" you need to address this guys or your rep will crumble.... Great video guys as always you guys say it how it is and throw straight dice well done guys, truly i do think "Probably" the bike is like a lot of budget numbers as in make a great project bike BUT it should have at least the basics you can ride before starting your upgrades as many people will buy these with a view to upgrade as and when they can afford to but in the mean time it should be capable enough ... sadly this doesnt seem it. Well done WolfTick Videos you guys delivered yet another stormer awesome stuff
Why don’t you just cut the seatpost ? For instance, I’m 5’7” (and shrinking) and my last Thomson post was just 250mm or 9”. For the street or climbing I had it all the up to the minimum insertion line that left only 2 1/2” in seat tube. Back in the day we always cut our posts to save weight. And it made it that much easier to manually move up and down, less friction...🤔
Got a Premier 5 for my wife a few months ago. She rides mostly bike path/concrete with my kid. She's happy with it and likes the more relaxed sit-up geometry compared to my Kona. It definitely needed a bit more than basic DIY out of the box. Few loose bolts all over the bike and the rear derailleur wasn't quite right. Rear Tektro brake was misaligned and mushy (bleed fixed) like yours. Also agreed with the questionable tyres but that's to be expected at the price. Paid around £225 (US$285) delivered and I agree overall it's a solid bike for that. When the tyres die I think something a bit narrower will be in order - maybe Vittoria Mezcal or Conti Race King. Not sure what the ID of the rims is, but suspect it's less than 25mm, so nothing over 2.2 is going to work. Note: She's 5'10 and I got a large frame so maybe that's why she's more happy with the position than you are.
Great comment man, appreciate the thinking. This bike is upright but not lol, sounds like you got heck of a deal on the wife's ride! But man, that rear brake has got to be bled, seatpost cut and new tires for sure, please no Continentals!! Lol Thanks Man
Hi, I use the same frameset for trails with different components, i converted it into 10x1 SRAM NX11 with Shimano DEORE crankset 30t and 11_42t cassette. The response is really upto the mark. N.B: I only keep the frame for its geometry, rest is upgraded..
The Axum DP has a dropper post, 2.6 tires, and a fork with an actual lock out. Also tapered head tube. Yes, brakes are not hydraulic, but overall I think it’s a better buy. A few inexpensive upgrades makes it even better.
Check the rim tape and make sure no spokes are poking the tube causing the flats. They probably purchase cheap bulk inner tubes so there are probably more than a few that just don’t hold air.

You should do a review on Sombrio Cartel Shovel hardtail bike. My opinion is that the frame is great for an aggressive hardtail, but the components really drag it down
What is it with Polygon's with the Entity X15 front wheels? I have a 2020 D6 with 29's and I wound up replacing the tire, and tube (Conti Kryptotal on the front, and Xynotal on the rear) to resolve the issue. Plus those stock Spiderbait tires are not the greatest. Easily washout on the South Jersey sugar sand. BTW my first build (after 40 years of non-riding) was an AL Comp based on the Wolftick build. Keep up the great work guys @wolfticknation!!
Really disapponted in Polygon, here...If they want to keep their burgeoning "cred" in the affordable bike category, they ought to make the changes to correct the apparent shortcomings in their true entry-level offering. Thanks as always for your honest reviews
hey do you guys watch any of Terry B's videos? Your dad would have a heart attack, lol, they don't give a crap about riding in the bike lane during their races through New York. I HIGHLY recommend watching his Hotline and Monster Track videos, first off for the amazing New York scenery and second for the amazing road cycling and dodging between cars and pedestrians. In his last Monster Track video a rider ran full tilt into the side of a Taxi, lol.
I love your videos but I think you should do a high budget brakes vid and compare them to budget brakes I just got today trp dhr evo brakes very expensive but dear god its like having an anchor you should test them only bought them as I won money. Maybe a if you won money what would you buy series even if not still love you guys
The fork is pretty good for what it is I remember mine on my polygon D5 it was not bad, I think what may be making your shoulders fatigued is these bikes like my D5 they have the front bars super low to the frame and when you have your seat adjusted right if you look from the side your seat is way higher than the handlebars I put riser bars on my D5 because it was slung so low in the front. Nice ride... O I liked the old style video I liked that you could hear all the noise the bike makes and nature when your riding, The voice audio sounds better but takes the thrill away from the ride without any other bike or sounds from the surroundings.
Thanks brother. We appreciate your opinion, I am with you, listening to the bike and tires hit the ground make a huge difference lol. Riser bars hmmm..
I definitely needed to chop a few inches off my Axum seat post so I could slam it down. The bike was already kind tall so not like I had to worry about not being able to raise it enough. The frame reach and wheelbase do look really short on this bike but it seem to be going for more cross county / upright position with a steep 69 degree seat angle and slack (standard for road bike) 73 degree seat tube angle. Generally when someone starts talking about 70mm stem on an MTB trail bike I would look at them kind of funny but I guess it's more common if I think cross country and I assume this bike has fair short (720~740mm) bars.
Good review. I don't understand how Polygon feels that it's acceptable that the seat tube doesn't go down, for that reason alone it's not worth the money. Very poor design.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Agreed, it's a good looking bike, just let down by the design flaw. Can't wait to see the Juin brakes review. Keep up the good work.🚵👍

My man Jeremiah, I just broke my Wake Handlebars and it was traumatizing although I can have the blame because I was expecting too much for an $8 handlebar, how does yours hold up so far?
I found several statements you made that contradict previous comments on bikes. You're just getting spoiled with nicer components!!!! I'd see this bike for someone who rides both paved/gravel and green singletrack.
Polygons should not be flat out of the box. My Siskiu had the tires low but not completely flat when I got it. It had a hole in the box and a front rotor out of true so I think they just take a bit of a beating in transit.
Probably 90% chance of a flat unless you did a thorn check, and looked for exposed nipples. Always, find where your valve stem is in relation to the tire, find the puncture in the tube, then inspect the appropriate area inside the tire that corresponds. (Basic knowledge, but something people in the $500 range may not know).
Usually I can see a positive or two on these bikes... but not this one... especially for the $$$... Polygon needs to up their game (and lower their price)
Mic is great to hear narration...but if you're wanting to hear terrain or bike interaction with terrain....its like a set up for thinking you are getting a quiet bike through the perception of the mic...and then in reality...maybe it won't matter...cuz a noisy bike ride is better than a quiet day paying off Uncle Biden....
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS don't feel ya' have to appeal to just my opinion.... haha! My wife tells me I'm wrong in a few things in life.... mostly in how to spend money and time..... So on a side note...if time is money.... can one spend a whole year in a bank and come out the next year and have more time than they started with?? 😅🤣😂
I'm sorry, but this is not a fair assessment of this particular model bike. This is listed as a recreational bike... not trail, not XC, not enduro, not down hill...recreational. It's like buying a base model Ford F-150 2wd and being pissed that it doesn't Perform like an F-150 Raptor ....be real guys. Test a Polygon Colossus then get back to us.
Hey, no apologies needed. We always keep it real and you should know that we always try to exceed the limits of the budget bikes to see how they respond. The Colossus is not even close to being budget and way over biked for that trail. You might have missed the description of this bike on their website so we are pasting it below for your convenience. Pay close attention to the first and last paragraphs. The words "versatile," "mountain bike," and "trail" are all used. From Bikes Online: The Premier 4 was created for riders who want a versatile mountain bike. Built with a lightweight and durable Alutech frame with modern geometry for a more comfortable leisure ride, the Premier 4 is a reliable companion for day-to-day use and sport. Damping duties are managed by an upgraded Suntour XCM suspension fork with 120mm of travel on the 27.5" bike. The benefits of hydraulic brakes cannot be overstated. Tektro HD-M275 Hydraulic Disc Brakes require only the slightest amount of lever pressure to safely slow the bike in any conditions. It's in wet conditions that hydraulic disc brakes really outshine typical rim brakes, by using a disc brake, located away from the rim, where it picks up water off the road, the brakes provide consistent and reliable performance. This means that you won't get that scratching noise or the brake surge so common on rim brakes. The 2x8-Speed drivetrain is powered by a mix of Shimano Acera and Altus components, so you know that all components will function together in harmony, and can easily be maintained and serviced. It's all these features on the bike that mean when you are traveling at speed at your local trail, you will have confidence in the bike performing to your every input. P.S. If the base F-150 cost more than a better performing truck, no one would buy it. You are going to love tomorrow's episode.😉 Thanks for watching and commenting.

🤣🤣 Was thinking maybe that was toblame for the flat???
Bike lanes are just a suggestion!😅😅😅
They should of made it as a 1x12 ...or better yet you guys should turn it to a 1x12
Great review but not a great bike. I think there are better options for $500. At least the music was an improvement
id rather have a ardor or shin Axum.
Ardor a damn good platform and so is the Axum. Hard to disagree with that.
Lol, feel ya on the mic man, kinda voice over feel for sure. We will keep playing with the audio in hopes of finding the just right feel.
😅🤣😂
He's probably annoyed with me because it's bitter sweet. He hates getting flats but loves using the tyre monkey, so he's torn inside 🤣🤣
Flat Out has failed me again...
Oh No!!! You have gotta do something different dude!! There's no way🤣🤣🤷♂️
I'm sorry, but this is not a fair assessment of this particular model bike.
From Bikes Online:
The Premier 4 was created for riders who want a versatile mountain bike.
Absurdly overpriced. I would even go as far to say this is a 190 dollar JOY KIE bike rebranded.
What a crappy bike. Spend a little more and get something more trail/rider friendly.
