Hailing you from across the pond in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.(One of the colonies.)(lol!) Just have to say that I really enjoy your channel and its contents. There is such a wide variety of bush crafting channels now, but we all arrive upon our favourites, mine being yours, Andy's, and our own Ontario natives, Joe Robinet, and, of course, Shawn James and "My Self Reliance". So nice seeing your son, Tom, again with you. I have one child, also a son, Matthew, who is now 32, and is Atypical Autistic(medium/higher functioning), a wonderful boy(man).(lol!) He lives with me after trying to live in his own little bachelor apartment for 5 years, but with much difficulty. He actually moved back at the end of January, just in time to beat COVID. Wonderful having him back and cooking for him. He is on disability insurance, but still delivers grocery flyers 2 days each week, loves life and activities and has a wide circle of friends and support systems. It's nice setting him up for the long run/haul so his later years remain good. Haven't done any camping for years, and he really wasn't much that into it even as a boy. He loves his Playstation 4, public transit, and all the amenities of small city living, and amusement parks, swimming, bowling, Niagara Falls, everything materialistic.(lol!) And, as in one of your previous segments, I can relate to mental health issues, having dealt with personal problems most of my life, but dealing with them to the greater degree. I can understand why so many thousands find your videos comforting, reassuring, and so interesting. Thanks, Simon. You are a good "bloke".

It was so thoughtful of Tom to go on a trip with you after your last video. He's a good son. I can see where he gets his love of cooking. The roast lamb looks amazing! Another one of my favorites. All the very best to you and your family! ❤️
One of my job's as child a long, long, long time ago(70s) was to collect mint on a Sunday morning for the roast while walking the dog. And I've loved it ever since much to the annoyance of my wife and daughters as it appears on quite a lot. Thank you so much for a glimmer of my childhood Simon.
Simon! Love your videos. My son and I in the U.S. (Alabama) have taken a page from your book and got out to camp on a quick overnight. Thanks for reminding me how much I miss the wild. Active duty Army had me so busy that i stopped going out, well I’m retired now and reconnected to the outdoors. Thanks buddy!
My Father & i love watching your videos & we spend time together in the Outdoors... Fires -- Food & Bushcraft. Thank you for posting this Simon ... Great video ! ....... Greetings from Almeria ( Spain )
Hi Simon, what a truly wonderful video ☺️ I’ve had a really bad day today and watching you and Tom cook (a very enviable leg of lamb) it has truly lifted my spirits ☺️ Thank you and as always I look forward to watching the next adventure. Tom. 😊
Hi Simon what a great video it was so good to see your son he grow so much from the last time I watch your video keep up with the great work u are doing stay safe
Love it love it love it! Just wait till Tom gets educated in the culinary arts and the possibilities of bushcraft cooking will be boundless! Great Duo!
I can't believe how tall you've got Tom. Ketchup with lamb means you must be about ready to do a joint camp with your Dad and Andy. I hope that bone went home for Maggie. Great video and another thing on my wishlist from TJM to go with my amzing fire anchor. Thanks Simon. 🙂
Klasse 👍👍👍
Thank so much for sharing with us most valuable in life..father and son quality time together..really love it..omg...i'm cryin'...lucky tom..proud simon..
Lush, Indeed! Excellent choice of company and cuisine. Leg of Lamb done spit like to perfection. No the freshly picked mint for the outdoor sauce was it! Cherry on top. Handsome young man wisely choosing some quality time w The Old Man. Very sweet to see n thanks so much for sharing!👍👏🏻😁Those hand forged tools look beautifully functional. Might be an early Birthday present in the air...😇☺️
Simon, a bloke in the woods . I’ve been enjoying your videos for the past year. You motivated me to get our canoe out of the basement. My wife and I got out in our local river and had a wonderful day thanks to you. Best wishes from the United States
My God man I love lamb and I could taste that all the over here in New England. What a great day and awesome video. Anytime spent with our kids us always ❤ a great time. 👍 great video
Tom is definitely the star of the show. We've been watching your videos for years - and this one so reminds me of cooking outdoors with my daughter. I totally get it. You're a fabulous dad !
For a moment there I thought you had gone back in time to pull a really young Andy from Kent Survival into the future and then you said it was your boy Tom!
I gave a heart felt laugh & smile when you spoke of Tom & his reply. I teared up, you have some thing I will NEVER KNOW. CONGRATS ! What a great outing. TAKE CARE GENTLEMEN ..
Awesome to see Tom on the video again. U must be very proud he has grown up to be a nice young man. Maybe he can give us some cooking tips in the future. ATB. Grays
I'm with Tom on the tea that must have been really strong tasting. Handsome guy your son. Nice that he came along. The lamb looked realy good I have never eatin lamb. Wishing Tom the best with his schooling, would love to see Tom cook on his own dad
Lamb is great except possibly the smell while cooking it indoors. It seems to have a cat pee kind of thing going as it cooks but you might be able to hide it with various herb rubs if you throw them on while cooking. WARNING- LAMB CAN BE MASSIVELY EXPENSIVE!! I live over here in the Western 1/2 of Massachusetts & most of the time, the local IGA ( grocery store) won't even sell lamb because they want WAY TOO MUCH & no one can afford it! Even some cubed lamb that looks like what you'd put in beef stew is pricey & not much comes in the package ( in a typical pack, there's about maybe 5 to 6 pieces & they're not uniform in size; they want close to 8.00$ or more for something like that!!!) Back in the 70's for some reason, lamb was mad cheap! You could get a whole leg for about 30.00 something $
Tom has grown into a fine young man! Where has the time gone?! This video really made me smile, the bond you both have is truly beautiful 😊. My Father was never in my life so I didn't get to experience moments like this but it was magical to see you both spending time together 😊 Tom seems like an honest, genuine and sensitive lad, chip off the ol' block 😃 you must be extremely proud, Simon! Wishing him all the best for his course and future 😊
Having recently watched all your back catalogue of older videos it seems funny to see Tom go from being a boy to a young man, it’s great he wanted to come out with you 👌

Any "bush style" recipes for Tom? Like something made from that fungus everyone calls "Chicken of the woods"?
