Ventrac compact utility tractors provide a safer and more effective solution to slope mowing in addition to versatility and ease of use. So what makes Ventrac a great slope mower? The answer to that begins with the fact that Ventrac tractors are not like conventional tractors. They are uniquely and specifically designed from the ground up to perform consistently in a variety of conditions and terrains.
The Ventrac compact utility tractors have a low center of gravity which adds to overall stability on hills. They also feature center articulated steering and an oscillating frame which helps provide improved maneuverability and greater ground contact over uneven terrain. The power of all-wheel drive allows the Ventrac to operate on a multitude of terrains with minimal damage to the turf even on slopes. Steering and movement are hydrostatically controlled for easier and more precise operation including the ability to effectively brake downhill to a stop and even reverse back uphill.
The Ventrac 4500 is rated to handle slopes of 20 degrees because of these innovative standard features which makes Ventrac a safer and more reliable slope solution. It can be fitted with wheel extensions for a wider wheelbase allowing for operation on slopes of 25 degrees and can be fitted with dual wheels all around for an impressive 30 degree slope operation. That’s the ability to perform on a 58% grade! Ventrac has an optional slope gauge that not only displays but alerts you when you are in unsafe conditions.

Ill cut that with a zero turn
I know it's hard to tell in video form how steep a hill actually is, but I can confidently say - without ANY doubt - that there isn't a zero turn in the world that would climb this particular hill at all, let alone do it safely. The idea that anything can be cut by a zero turn is dangerous and irresponsible.
-Aaron
You could go down it on a zero turn but if you started up it forward the zero turn would sitting on top of you upside down!
yeah OK
Ive took videos stopped sideways on a hill the video doesnt do justice then neither but looks the same as this its as steep maybe a little more definitely not safe ive been there but forget all that weedeating this does cut thick stuff way better cool and useful bush hog
I cut mine with a zero, it is just as steep, just go down it, not up.
I'm more impressed with how that thing cut through those small trees without bogging down
Same
Thats the power of the ventrac
Yea well, my lawn mower swam 50 miles across the ocean and hiked across 2 mountain ranges before sneaking past border patrol into the country.

Total boss mode on that hill! That looks like an amazing product, great video!
If you think that mowing on a little hill like that is sketchy then u haven't mowed much yet... put several hundred hours on a mower then say that
I remember seeing this exact video one day as a random UA-cam ad, not finishing the video but certainly taking note of Ventrac, and I've been a fan since.
I ran a Ventrac several years ago (cant remember model #) on commercial properties primarily. We used it for aeration on both warm and cool season turf. While it did not have duals, it was articulated and 4wd. The aerator was unique and cored very well as it vibrated at the same time. I was meticulous on maint. and rarely had any problems.
I'm not rich ! We purchased an old Gravely very used walk behind tractor with a bush hog and bought a dual wheel kit on Ebay. Works great and under 1000 bucks total. It's unreal what that Gravely can do.
Why do you put American flag
My lawntractor does the same thing, it's just not 4-wheel drive.
I have two Gravely walk behind two wheel tractors. This machine can NOT be beat! Gravely are worth there weight in gold. American made

I have the same one exept that i have a big block For in it with two 96 mm huge Turbos pkus a 200 shot of nitrous making about 1800 Hp to the wheels ...it does 260 Mph in 1/8 of a mile in 4.5 secunds and it has two parashutes in the back ...i did 200 lawns in like 5 minutes and made 500 000 dollars and so when i woke up in the morning to go for a ride my mom took the prious and went shoping ...
But is was the best feeling javing that fast lawn mower TT Nitrous .Dreams ce true se times .
probably what your wife uses to trim her pubic hair…so make it’s clean and not leaking any oil before you put it back in her panty drawer!
And she blew 50 of your friends one after the other without cracking a sweat...and that was while you were flaked out drunk at your wedding reception
This is fun to watch! I love the before and after view...
Should I buy a mower or a car?
As soon as I win the Lottery, I'll have TWO Ventrac's with all of the available options!.(MY DREAM MACHINE!)
These mowers are like a tank, it does the job 100 percent
Nice mower and I absolutely love the design of it!
The other thing is when you are cutting/slashing across a slope at 28 or 30 degrees, take your deck off float & raise up up just a little - this puts more weight on the front set of wheels and helps with traction... This comes with using your machine all the time on slopes ...
I’ll keep this in minds when I wanna go on the side of interstate and start mowing those sloops......
That’s where my tuition money is going
it seems like a very awesome machine!!!...the slope alarm is awesome...I have to mow slopes on a retention pond...I wish the city i work for would buy us one of these machines...would be awesome fo this application!!!!
That’s a crazy capable mower!
Looks like my grandfather's Sears and Roebuck riding mower with double wheels 😂
Hmmm, seems like I said it had a duely tire setup.
A retro square body beauty
Wow! King of mowers!
For Tsunauticus: Consider all the attachments you could use regularly (Ventrac has about 40 - I could see my self using a dozen +/-) and then price individual machines that could do these jobs. Or pick any 3 or so jobs that another unit could do and price just 3 or 4 machines that could all the things you want to do.. Bottom line: Ventrac sells versatility, and if you need that, or and or have a lot of area to work with and different jobs to do, Ventrac’s cost per job type falls fairly quickly.
what a beast look how amazing that looks after that I tell you what man that bad boy nothing slows it down

AMAZING, I want one! Thumb up.
I don't think I have ever seen a more high tech mower
My public park here in Invercargill, New Zealand (Queens Park) uses a Toro Groundsmaster 3500D Rotary Mower with a sidewinder, near the stumpery area of the park has quite a good angled hill with grass all around it the mower has to cut, so I reckon one of those might only just be able to do what was in this video
That looks like a lot of fun
Thats one heck of a rig.
I never knew a lawn mower could climb Everest
Where do u get a mower from 3019
From ventrac I guess
I saw one yesterday going up like a 50 degree slope
I do this on my 90s deer
can you mount tools at the rear also
Test drove one of these at work the other day. They are awesome, steering takes a bit to get used to.
Glad you liked it, John!
A zero turn has the potential to eventually do what skid steers do. I hope to see them with a loader and a backhoe as well.
Yes mine doesnt have its mower deck its a Micro tractor and it climbs off road
I’m pretty impressed
Thanks! It's definitely an impressive machine!
I don’t need one, but as a lawn care aficionado this is impressive
im interested but id like to see that hill 1 day after mowing.
Was that a Pollinator Habitat sign??

Yeah that looks pointless to do
I wish i had something like that on some of the hills i do with a grand stand but i make do with what i got better then weedeating all the banks amd hills i do

Yes you do!!! :)
You won’t regret it
@@ventrac apparently they need to waste about 30K, I too would love to buy one but we don’t have money to burn.
My mower had enough and drove away in the middle of the night. Can your mower do that?
I suppose that they use 4 stroke engines.....how do they ensure that there is a constant oil supply for the engine when working this type of terrain?
Aaron Graber Thanks a lot for the reply....Seems the Kawasaki engines have freely swinging oil pump snorkels and the others have an extra oil reservoir for the 10 min you spoke about. Thanks again...
I have an old Heston that will do that anyday.
We're are yall at
I could cut that with the outfront but I'm impressed how it handles the thick stuff
Doubt it
Lots of cool features, like the slope gauge; I like it. To bad quality cost so much.
Awesome !

I love my Gravely but this, this is awesome wish hadn't my 2 acres. How new is this machine and how $$$$ is it?

This is so useful because my lawn is a *FUCKING* HILL
I watch every video , I wish you guys had some type of log pincers or grapple for skidding logs out, firewood etc. definitely convince my wife in needing one for our 44acres haha.
Joel - Thanks for following our videos! I love using my tractor at home to move firewood, but totally agree with you that a log pincers would make the job easier!
Ventrac, awesome machine either way, thanks for the response , I'll keep watching maybe someday we will both get our wish on a hydraulic pincers setup, take care
stop thinking that ventrac is awesome 8 it is not
That's amazing
Love these tractors I'd love to have one I really need one but payments would be to high I'm sure but if I could get financed on one of those I'd be in heaven but ya nobody around here has one and I'd love to be one of the first and show it off and try and sell some for ya but anyways thx for showing such a incredible price of equipment
I’ll just turn a normal lawn tractor into a dually
I can smell the fresh cut grass
A little bit better than a zero turn mower.
can it take down japanese knotweed on hills?
That should be no problem at all.
I'll stick with my John Deere X-534,I've done slopes like this with very few problems and at $10,000.00,it beats this machine hands down big time.
I have the 48"in deck with the 47"inch two-stage snow blower,I spent one-third of what this thing cost.
PLEASE stay safe out there. Your machine was not designed or intended to work on slopes anywhere close to 30 degrees. It also does not have a ROPS so in the event of a rollover, injury is highly likely.
From the John Deere Owners Manual for the X534 :
manuals.deere.com/omview/OMM174062_19/?tM=
Operate Safely on Slopes
Exceeding the recommended maximum slope angle increases the risk of rollover accidents that can result in serious injury or death.
Never mow or operate ride-on mower on slope angles greater than 15° with the lawn ride-on mower in its basic configuration. The basic configuration is the ride-on mower with mower deck and not other attachments. (A 15° slope is a slope that rises 1.6 m (5.25 ft) over a horizontal distance of 6.1 m (20 ft).)
When using attachments, never mow or operate the ride-on mower on slope angles greater than 10°
Man you stepped in it deep naming your model
Better watch out the "Ventrac Owners Manual Police" will get you. Lol
Is the Ventrac equipped with an oil pump to prevent premature wear on the engine while engaging extremely high grades such as the one in the video?
All of our engines are certified by their respective manufacturers for use on the slopes that we certify our tractors for. However, it is worth noting that both of the Kubota options that we have require intermittent change of direction to comply with the manufacturers recommendation. The Kawasaki DFI option is rated for the same 30 degree operation, but completely uninterrupted. In use, we don't see failures for this reason because operators naturally change pitch/direction frequently enough for it to be no issue!
@@ventrac Thank you for the quick and comprehensive response!
Me when I saw this video: odd flex but ok
My mower could clim way steeper lol but is that thing 4x4??
Could only imagine the cost
Ventrac just earned my subscription. Great video to all those at ventrac.
Where's the finishing mower?? Uh huh
That looks like Fairmont State in WV.
Do you all offer a Perkins or Yanmar diesel and enclosed cab.
Enclosed cab, yes. The only diesel engine option we have is a Kubota.
Bro you missed a spot
How much does it cost

Kind of. It is a designated pollinator area but it does still need mowed one time per year to encourage proper re-growth and control weeds.
Thanks for the response. I love the mower it looks like it’s well built and would last a lifetime
Wow!!!! I wants to know how much this thing cost? I really loves to buy one of these for my yard.... hate to tip over with my other riding mower.

So Ventrac, what degree slope was this?
It varied but up to 25-30 degrees in spots.

Missed a spot at the top, u still need the weed wacker.
Where i can buy in indonesia?
I saw this mower at my school today
Nice
How much would 1 of these cost ? I'm guessing over 20k
The tractor by itself with no attachments is between $19,000 and $23,000 depending on engine options.
Ventrac parts made in China, Mexico and assembled in the US I assume
There are parts on our tractor from all around the world. That's virtually unavoidable. Even American companies supply parts that are sometimes produced elsewhere around the world. You would probably be surprised at how domestic our tractor is - more than any we're aware of. And "assembled in US" is selling us short. Yes, we assemble them here. We perform all engineering, R+D, testing, etc. here. We cut all of the metal on the tractor on our own lasers, right here at headquarters. Our attachments are also built here, in house. A lot of manufacturers can't even claim that. We employ a large number of local people, we support the community, and we even export product all around the world, adding to the US economy in a big way. We do our part, thanks.
How much is their cheapest tractor with a brushhog
your first born child! lol. great machine, but Tractor and attachments cost a small fortune!
I mow hills like that with my grasshopper or 62 ford tractor..
