- I am trying to reach Lake Atitlan in Guatemala, but to get there is a bit harder than I thought. On the way, I first make a stop at beautiful Antigua though!

Just amazing that although the town looks so old and rundown there is not a single piece of garbage laying in the street . Awesome . People with pride. 👍
It’s very rare to see a pueblo with trash in the streets..! Overall it’s a clean environment…!! Glad you noticed…!!!!!
In very small towns like this people really take pride of what they have and keep it clean and colorfully.
Proof that money is not required to have self respect and pride. You can make a broom out of a tree branch. Love this place!
Wow! An amazing little town with so much history. The streets are so clean. One doesn't often see clean well-maintained streets in many Philippine towns.
Hola in Philippines hablan español un poco cierto?
The blooming Jacaranda trees and all the ruins of Antigua was a real keeper from this episode. You timed your visit there perfectly in the season.
Yes, the Jacaranda trees are in full bloom in Southern California right now too. A stunning color, but they really make a mess...
Like a different world, so relaxed and peaceful...
Wow! Yesterday's really tough riding(!!), then today a marvelous tour of Antigua and beautiful ruins, and a paved road. You're experiencing so much and it's a gift to allow us to share. Thank you!
The next leg looks like it will be exciting too!

What a special treat having a tour around a most interesting city!
Love the classic Itchy Boots spontaneity of this video. Just a slow ride, quick U-turns and speaking with and paying absolute respect to the local people. Admiring the local sites. If all had the temperament, patience and empathy of our Noraly, how much better the world would be. Great content!
Yes how nice it is, a world of good things. God loved the world and all his people, He sent his son Jesus, that we can realize that we dont want all the evil, and there is way out. There is a new world being made without all the bad things and this one is passing away. Do you know where you're going?

Thank you Noraly 🌹
Thanks for the continuing education in world culture, Noraly! The woven clothes were beautiful. The ruins were amazing too. The buildings with the columns reminded me of Greece, very cool. You are right.... I did not know a place like that existed in Guatemala. Stunning. I want to watch this again later on a big screen. Next episode... riding with the police again, this time on the other side of the world. 🐶Dylan, good advice, don't drink out of the toilets. Good boi. 🐶
Beautiful ride and town noraly. You always perk us up with interesting contents. I love your encounter with sinewan in the previous videos. 😊
Professor !! that was excellent !! kicking myself that I passed up an opportunity ages ago to work there..... i miss Spanish architure - history-culture. Well done
Thank you very much for showing Guatemala 🇬🇹 to the world 🌏 come back soon you are welcome
Thankyou for showing the amazing places we might never be able to see.God bless you.
I was there when i was 10 y.o. No im 36, i can remember the smell of santa rita`s flowes on the balconys, some mariachis singing on the back. And there was "pascuas" celebration with long floral carpets on the streets. The Guatemaltecos are so kind people. The essense of mayas is so present in their culture. They keep custumes and clothes more present than other central amercian countries. I know few cities in the world, but antigua is one of the prettiest.
Nice video. Actually I enjoy watching all of your videos, and can only imagine the thrill of your journey. 🙂
Love this town, looks very inviting, will have to put it on my bucket list of places to visit.
Wow.. that was (is) an amazing town.. It's beautiful.. Thanks for that Noraly. and Yes.. seems next episode you get a police escort... can't wait..
I can't believe you're riding from Santiago to San Pedro! I can't wait to see the next episode. I live on the other side of the lake in Panajachel, but did live for a short while in San Pedro. That road is notorious! I have a motorcycle here and have ridden all around the lake, except that part.
Genial recorrido muy interesante por primera vez lo veo. Felicidades! saludos de monterrey mx. 👍👍
Soy de La Antigua Guatemala y me encanta Monterrey 😍 ustedes tienen también lugares maravillosos. Saludos🇬🇹🇲🇽
I have so much respect for your Noraly that you recognized the sanctity of those inside their church, so many people these days would just be looking for footage.
I remembered the 👍. Guatemala wow, Dylan loves ❤️ his Dutch guest. Thanks for showing and really interesting 👌 video. All the best Andi 👋
Nice tour of the town ,quite colourful. That paved road looked like a lot of fun. Thanks for showing a place I, would have never know about. Take care.✌️
One of the best coffees in the world, are grown in Antigua, Guatemala…!! And has to do with, altitude, type of soil and type of coffee bean….!! The coffee is sweet and not acid…!! Good coffee need not sugar nor cream.
@@rudolphparedes9856 Cool, nice to know, thanks.
Very cool architecture, it’s amazing how we could build structures with our bare hands like these 400 years ago that we can’t do today with the help of machines . And if we did the cost would be in the millions . Thanks for the video
Dear Noraly, As always thank you for sharing some of the sites and culture as you pass through it. I am enriched by you and your travels. All the best & safety - Jude
"Jacaranda Mimosifolia" is a sub-tropical tree native to south-central South America that has been widely planted elsewhere because of its attractive and long-lasting violet-colored flowers. 😀
Primera vez que oigo ese nombre
😎👍🏼
YES we have loads of Jacaranda trees here in Pretoria, South Africa. They bloom in October here, and all the streets are lined with purple Jacaranda blossoms, so beautiful!
Thanks for the info
@@chenejansen3592 hey 'neighbor'. Port Elizabeth here. They are awesome aren't they?

Antigua looks like a pretty hip, prosperous town with walled casas and beautiful old buildings well looked after. Might add to the bucket list.
He looked like a super host & a place you'd return to. I can imagine what you chatted about off camera. Awesome

Bravo ! - separated by many years, you and i have now crossed paths ... i've been to that part of the world and stood outside at night watching the lighting storms. Safe Travels.
Very historic city with 40 church's , well worth a visit . We call them "BUSH RANGERS " in the past in Australia Noraly . Looks like you get an escort so to speak to the lake , can't wait till next episode :-)
the purple blossom tree you found here are Jacaranda and native to central and south america. in full bloom they are magic. keep the rubber down and stay safe.
Thanks for a beautiful review of Antigua. ❤️
Vulcan Agua is the volcano in the background of Antigua. Vulcan Fuego is the fire volcano and next to Fuego is Vulcan Acatanango which I climbed when visiting a few years ago. Lovely city.
Lovely old town with some great historic remains & interesting architecture . Thank you for taking us on a tour of the place. I reckon the guest house dog is going to miss you ,when you don’t return ,I think he wanted to ride pillion .👍
One of my favourite places in Guatemala!
Just love how you start talking to the dog in Dutch - priceless
Beautiful shots, Noraly! Thanks for letting us join you on another adventurous day!
Hola. Hace poco que te sigo y me encanta porque a diferencia de los demas viajeros te paras a ver las cosas (iglesias, cuevas, etc )
When I lived in Guatemala I visited Antigua most every weekend. Its amazing.
Makes you realize, that Latin America actually has a much longer history than the USA.
Antigua looks like an old Spanish city; Toledo or Leon.
Well yeah. Cause the French occupied south America first.
Latín America, began to be colonized in early XVI century!!
By the fourth Colon voyage, settlements had began to be built…! But all that is taught at school in 4th grade..!!!!!!
@@rudolphparedes9856 Not overhere in the Netherlands. Here kids only learn about the evils of European colonialism.
@@MayorMcheese12 I have never heard that, Spanish yes but never heard about the French settling in South America except for the small country of Guiana.
With very strong cultures and traditions.
Thank you for sharing your adventure!
@Noraly - everything looks so beautiful. What a shame that it can be so dangerous at the same time. A big thumbs up.
Nice scenery and always so full of joy. Stay safe out there Noraly.
Nice of you for covering the locals. Good going, take care. Gautamala city is very much religious and traditional.
Another amazing place. This is why I love your vlogs so much. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
What a wonderful video! I am a new subscriber and after I watch every episode of this trip I just can’t wait for the next one! Congratulation for an excellent job 😁
Even though the church is in a state of disrepair it is far more beautiful than its first condition. Probably not what the original constructors would agree with, but my thoughts are with them and the effort they went to. Thank you!
Siempre bienvenida a la Antigua. Una ciudad muy hermosa. Mezcla de Colonial y moderna.
Saludos!
I loved the expression of incredulity of the police officer at the end of the video about your plan to travel the stretch of dirt road on your own. This may be the same road I attempted to travel on a BMW F650GS laden with luggage almost 20 years ago trying to make it from Panajachel to San Juan going clockwise. The dirt road was a steep climb and needless to say I fell and broke the radiator. There wasn't a soul in sight yet about 10 minutes later a police officer appeared walking down the hill. He too sounded incredulous that I hadn't been robbed yet as he mentioned that the road wasn't safe. Well, with a broken radiator and no way to fix it then, my only option was to descend the hill, with all the weight of my luggage and some equally not so good tires. Luckily for me, a family with a truck came down the mountain and offered to carry all my luggage while I followed them to the nearest place where I could buy something to plug the holes in the radiator. It was only a few kilometres at slow speed avoiding to rev the engine and hoping the radiator wouldn't dry out completely. Anyhow, I plugged the radiator holes with a powder so that I could continue and thanked that amazing family who helped a complete stranger that day. The next day I managed to reach San Juan la Laguna going around on the other side of Lake Atitlan, where the road was paved.
Yes I have been to Guatemala before. Around the 80’s
Beautiful old buildings, I studied Architectural History, and is great to see them. In 1764 the Indians that lived near me were only building mounds, nothing so fancy. Being in the Ring of Fire, I'm sure they have lots of earthquakes! Stay safe!!
Temblors are a daily occurrence in Guatemala. Temblors are very mild one doesn’t notice..!!!
@@rudolphparedes9856 If you live there you may not notice. But to someone that has only felt 1 earthquake , I would notice them all - thanks Rudolph!
I don't speak Spanish but I find myself frequently stopping the video to read street and shop signs and trying to sound it out and figuring out what it means. I learned that Alto means Stop lol. Thanks for the Spanish lessons every segment Noraly!
The tree you saw that was purple looks like it's a Jacaranda Tree. Australia has lots of these and they are beautiful when in bloom.
Every town you went through I wanted you to stop! Really nice looking places! I know Dylan is missing you! 😀 Thanks for sharing the ride Noraly! Take care!

I tried to purchase from your website tips on vlogging but it wouldn't take my credit cards . I think because it's in euros :( But you brighten up my day! Thank you! If you ever ride in MA please reach out! I ride an indian myself.
The purple tree could be a Blue Jacaranda? They have them in Seville and they are stunning
Bellas estampas del tiempo de la colonisacion
Excellent. I felt sorry for the dog. He was getting really attached.👍😊

Hey Noraly, another great video. Such an interesting old city. I think those purple flowered trees are Jacarandah. We have them in Australia but they're not native. I think the originate from South and Central America. Lovely in full bloom and the bees love them!
Wow is amazing 🤩
I live in San Pedro, lake Atitlan.Come by. That back road is tough. Try the road from Tzununa to the crater rim.👍
I loved the video!!, You know, I actually was there for my aunts birthday that day, hope I could have seen you, but I was not in the video😅I really like how you played respect for all of our culture, you are an amazing person, hope the best on your journey
Great video Noraly
Enjoy Santiago. It’s a great artsy community of hippie expats from the 70s and traditional indigenous. The Atitlan communities are really cool and you can identify which town people are from based on the design of their huipils (womens blouses).
