  • I use conversational, indirect hypnosis, made famous by Dr. Milton Erickson. Milton Erickson's approaches are so effective because they are grounded in universal principles of psychology, and I'll talk a bit more about this here and share my opinion on why you should learn Ericksonian hypnosis, and I'll share 3 tips to follow to do so.
Did you learn any of the techniques mentioned during your hypnotherapy training? Do let me know in the comments, and hit 'like' and subscribe for more videos if you found this one helpful.

Lots of therapists say that they used Milton Erickson Hypnosis but they don't used because they don't know how to use. Thanks for your video.

Thank you, Mark. This was a very nice introduction to Erickson's orientation and techniques. As a long-time practitioner of Ericksonian hypnosis, the one issue I have had with my peers has been a sort of snobbery (for lack of a better term) with regard to more traditional, paternalistic hypnosis. There seems to be this attitude among some people that those "old" ways of doing hypnosis are somehow backward or even a type of violence toward the client. Personally, I disagree. I love all forms of hypnosis and find them all very fascinating. From a practical perspective, I think it is all a matter of what is most appropriate for the client and the situation.

Hello Mark, could you please consider doing a video about Pure OCD (or Pure O)? Using traditional OCD CBT techniques seems to be not as practical or effective when it comes to intrusive thoughts exclusively.

Is it ridiculous of you to interview Chris Voss Ret’d FBI Hostage Negotiator on building Trust Based Influence,,, 1-keeping them Informed,,, 2-keeping Short,,, 3-Nothing stupid, not even lying… Sounds a lot like Erickson.
