Atticus was my favorite character in the GX anime. My friends were always confused why because he never won and was mostly a joke character who "copied" Joey by using Red-Eyes. To me though, I loved how over the top he could be, and always thought his deck which was more focused on Red-Eyes made it much more unique and standalone than Joey's RNG deck. When I read the GX Manga and saw how much of a badass they made Atticus, I was so thrilled! The moment several of his manga "Sphere" cards released, I bought a playset of each...however, they never really fleshed this deck out in the real game. I will say that with the help of "Barrier Statue of the Stormwinds", "Alector, Sovereign of Birds", and some well-placed Traps like Gravity Bind and Windstorm of Etaqua, I could beat my friend's Scrap Deck when he was winning local tourneys frequently. XD I really hope they release more of the Manga cards for many of these characters as time goes on. Special Shout-Out to Bastion and his "Yokai" cards as they've been released as Zombie support in random sets for years now. :)
yeah, he actually had a red eyes deck with proper support so his deck was pretty good (for the anime i mean, i imagine it wouldn't do well in real life competitive duel monsters). He was never shown winning due to his unfortunate luck in opponents and him not being the main character. hell, he came close to beating jaden in their first duel when he was nightshroud
I will say the Manga has a better overall story and many of the background and side characters actually get far better treatment and screentime (Minus Johan sadly). However, I do prefer the anime's character development of Jaden far more in the anime than the manga. Jaden is always the first to throw himself into dangerous or crazy situations and often times gets his friends caught up in his messes. This kinda results in their distrust of him and his self alienation due to fear of what negatives his attitude and powers can bring to people around him. He's forced to grow and accept the responsibility and consequences of his past choices and problems and ultimately becomes a wiser, more well-rounded person seeking to find a purpose beyond self-satisfaction and glory, like everyone else around him.
I remember watching the GX anime and thinking Jaden overshadowed most of the other cast to the point where I found it boring. However, the manga did a much better job of giving other characters the spot light, even outshining Jaden at times. I still can’t believe how many times he actually lost duels compared to his anime version.
im glad you mentioned fubuking and the disgrace that was johan insect deck, in my head canon he grows to find the crystal beasts, new crystal beasts with a new looking dragon.
It would've been perfect if Shazz were a mix between his manga and anime version. A cult leader goof and romantic like in the anime but with the skills and story importance of the manga.
5:32 One big difference Manga E-Heroes have from the Anime E-Heroes is they don't have specific Fusion Materials (except for his ace, The Earth / Terra Firma); they only need an E-Hero + 1 Monster of a specific Attribute
Honestly, I think some of the decks in the Manga were a little inconsistent compared to the Anime. Still, the Themes were SO MUCH BEtter! I do wish some characters kept their anime decks. Asuka/Alexis and her brother, but overall Heroes got the Fattest Improvement to their game. Same for Chazz’s Deck that uses dragons! While Zane’s is more about the “Cyber” part of his deck than the Dragon! And yet it makes so much sense!
Manga atticus is actually my favorite yugioh character, i think he way cooler than anime Atticus. I really like his sphere deck better than his red eyes dragon deck.
What I found funny about the house colors was the blue was best because kiba used Obelisk and red was worst because Yugi used Slypher and yellow was in the middle because neither of them used Ra
Okay so after what told me it seems like manga has a better story and uses the characters, better, but the monsters in the anime are so Awesome and iconic that I don’t mind it being inferior in story
I super disagree with your take on the vision hero's being less recognizable as opposed to destiny hero's, but other than that good video! I for am glad they release most of their manga counterparts with upgraded design and effects got released and are now good staples for hero's
Yeah I hope you’re making the video with the whole story already bc we’re waiting for it 😂🤞🏼 great video the differences are crazy! I always think GX is over hyped from all the series bc the animes story felt the weakest out of all of them IMO but the manga just seems so much better , they def missed out not adapting the real thing 😢
The anime and manga both do things better than the other, and I can't really saw which I like more. The nostalgic kid in me wants to say the anime because that theme song slaps. As a kid, who didn't dream of going to school for dueling? That said, I despise a lot of things about the anime. Chazz Princeton is a capable duelist but barely gets taken seriously. He technically beat Jaden towards the end of the show (If not for Mike). He converted most Duel Academy duelists to the Society of Light then converts most of them back. He thrashes everyone in the GX tournament. He beats Aster Phoenix on his way to become a pro duelist. But the guys duels as a pro in an Ojama Yellow costume and engages in all the cringe Alexis pursuit stuff. It doesn't help that he constantly switched decks for Chtonian, Armed Dragons, XYZ, Society of Light White cards, Ojamas, random North Academy cards. On top od that, he mashes up several themes at once. In real life, Chazz could never gain traction because he only uses half structure decks and back then, those cards didn't have sufficient support. Chazz Duelist Packs were always the ones I liked the least. Chazz in the manga is a boss. And his Dragon deck is fitting since he's supposed to be the Seto Kaiba to Jaden's Yugi. Bastion Misawa gets absolutely dunked on in the anime. He beats Chazz clean, has a solid duel with Jaden, and is one of the duelists given a spirit key. But then the Society of Light arc hits, and suddenly, Bastion isn't considered a good duelist when not longer ago he was considered the best in Ra Yellow and offered a promotion to Obelisk Blue. Everyone roasts him, including by Society of Light Chazz WHO BASTION BEAT. It makes absolutely zero sense. He beats Chazz again (Anime Chazz never beats Bastion clean), but intentionally loses to join the Society of Light where he is still treated like a loser who isn't a great duelist, even though he's dominate during the GX Tournament (Which is very underwhelming as far as tournaments go). Bastion gets taken less and less seriously, he racks up some more losses, then goes off to an alternate world to live with his BDSM Amazoness crush. Atticus Rhodes. Considered on par with Zane and never wins a duel. Who thought this was a good idea?
Wow this is so cool I love yugioh GX I think it’s really underrated even the dubbed version cause I’ve watched both and I feel like the dub overall captured the yo e of the show pretty well to the subbed for the earlier seasons. But I like the manga for tiring things more closely to the original yugioh then the anime did. Even tho there are some episode where they visit yugis home town and get yo see his deck there’s wasn’t a whole lot of reference to the original series which I hated. I also like how the manga took goofy characters and made them more badass. Would love to see a remake of GX with a mix of the manga and anime. GX needs a dark side of dimensions movie .
Personally if I went back in time I would've told Takashi and whoever wrote the manga about the Gem Knights ans how they should give it to manga Jesse instead
I really like the manga and I highly recommend to read it. Also the very original Yu-Gi-Oh manga which is even better. Where to read? MangaLife. Great stuff.
Eh, the manga doesn’t have that creativity that I really liked from the anime. While Chazz gets more screen time, he really just felt like Zane 2.0, and his duel spirit ability is really just a rehash of Jaden ☠️. I don’t like everybody having the same personality, what I liked about the anime is how drastically different each character is from each other. They really have personality, which in the manga… they’re just kinda the same. I do wish Atticus is stronger tho. Ngl, I would not have liked GX if it was only the manga storyline. It’ll be just duel monsters in school with no charm and a stereotypical rather predictable story. Either that, or a downgrade version of the first yugioh duel monster with no identity of its own. This would all be fixed if the anime made the side cast have more screen time winning duels. Though making Jaden duel a lot had it’s own charm, especially because duelling too much is part of his downfall in season 3, because too much pressure has been put on him. Also the transfer students were even better characters than most of the OG, and the fact that they don’t have nearly as much importance sucks ass. Light and Dragon is cool though. Should’ve been an anime card too.
9:47 , 10:32 and 14:00 very interested in the yugioh gx manga series. Just learning how less robust the protagonist is illustrated in the story is refreshing, instead of how plot invincible they are in the children anime, such as hardly ever losing and being often depended upon to save everyone making the other characters role in the story less significant. I will say this about the anime, I prefer the space neo deck than the manga deck Jaden uses. The neo hero space deck was just more cooler based on the art and aesthetic design features.
Rainbow Dragon may be incredibly awesome, but Tripper Mercury is a force to be reckoned with. The Planet series was such a cool concept, and they implemented it into the story perfectly. Both the anime and manga are top tier among Yu-Gi-Oh series imo.
I’d be open to the idea where they could combine the two parts of the enemy in the manga together because honestly the ancient Egypt thing that was already done with the original Yu-Gi-Oh I like the whole gentle darkness with Jaden because one it’s original into it shows that just because it’s dark doesn’t make it. Evil witch is Jaden’s character with the supreme king
I think if the first season of the anime was more like the manga, it would have definitely gave it a bigger reputation as a sequel spin off to the original series early on. I still think the third season of the GX anime is still the best piece of character development in the entire YuGiOh franchise. Just so fucking good how they deconstructed Jaden’s character
Masked Heroes are what made me care about hero decks. Theyre absolutely iconic imo. Probably a culture thing cause theyre more toku hero themed than comic book heroes like Elemental.
The manga is great, the E Heroes are so fun to play =D Chad is finally à réal rival for Judai and Alexia's brother is finally as strong as hé intended to be =D Sad stuff for Jesse but I didn't get attaché to him so it doesnt shake me too much Sorry xP
There are differences between the dub and sub. Did you know that one of the Shadow Riders (Abidos the 3rd) had a thing for Judai and asked Judai to go with him? Or that Yubel caused all that pain because they (not sure if Yubel is supposed to be he or she in the sub) believed the pain Judai made them go through was because he loved them and thought that by sharing that pain was to prove their love to Judai. Check out the duel with possessed Johan. They literally tell him, "I love you". And thus I began to see the JudaixJohan ship.
Yugioh gx anime was my daily ritual I was 6 or 7 and it always played before I went to taekwando class adult me prefers the Manga 100x over but im excited to show it to my daughter regardless
To be fair the anime was somewhat planned out as it went I think xD Kazuki wasn't successfully convinced to turn Yugi into an eternal journey like Ash from Pokemon so they went for the school life vibe most likely because that concept alone could naturally make for a long series. They weren't planning to replace it for something later, it's just the way it went with Yugioh shows on average being appropriate at 3 years like how pokemon gens do it. So one can tell they didn't have stuff like the supreme king arc in their minds from earlier. The manga had that advantage of looking at the anime's already completed journey and knowing what changes to do. I still like the anime better but that's not to say the manga didn't do a lot of stuff well too.
The manga felt like a proper well thought out story, while the anime was basically aimless for 90% of its run with stupid amounts of filler and basically became the Jaden only show making everyone else comic relief or useless The manga deserves an anime adaptation
Jaden loses way more in the manga than the anime but it makes him more realistic and relatable as a first year student who's slifer red

XD
I really hope they release more of the Manga cards for many of these characters as time goes on. Special Shout-Out to Bastion and his "Yokai" cards as they've been released as Zombie support in random sets for years now. :)
If only the other Yokai were imported the same timeframe as Mezuki. Then they would've saw niche play before the meta got hyper-offensive.
yeah, he actually had a red eyes deck with proper support so his deck was pretty good (for the anime i mean, i imagine it wouldn't do well in real life competitive duel monsters). He was never shown winning due to his unfortunate luck in opponents and him not being the main character. hell, he came close to beating jaden in their first duel when he was nightshroud
Yea, the atmosphere was one of my favorite boss monsters
Yeah, considering how bloated and edgy Jaden became in the show, it's shocking to see Manga Jaden is just down to earth normal kid that loves heroes.
im glad you mentioned fubuking and the disgrace that was johan insect deck, in my head canon he grows to find the crystal beasts, new crystal beasts with a new looking dragon.
Нашёл жука в янтаре и начал интересоваться минералами
Alexis also had an ice themed deck and Bastion had a ghost deck, both of which had some really cool moment.
It would've been perfect if Shazz were a mix between his manga and anime version. A cult leader goof and romantic like in the anime but with the skills and story importance of the manga.
I love the professor with the Fallen Angel deck! Its my favorite archetype!
Oh you forgot the full spell, its "Avada Kedavra KURWA!"
Manga chazz is a chad. Screw whomever decided to make GX more childish friendly
I like both yugioh gx manga and anime
supreme king is one my favorite idea for Yugioh gx
It would be cool if they made a movie that takes place during the original series but introduces Koyo Hibiki.
I’d definitely be interested in a video covering the manga and anime stories!!
It’d also be cool for a video covering the “Planet Series” cards!!
this already sounds better, other than jessie getting a bug deck. but would love to see the Chazz actually chazz someone up
I usually watch your german videos - but I'm totally up to see what this channel can achieve! :) letsgooo
Dude the manga sounds infinitely better
debatable
Just the first minute and a half about Jadens backstory already surpasses the whole anime I’m definitely gonna read it
manga chaz is so dope actually
5:32 One big difference Manga E-Heroes have from the Anime E-Heroes is they don't have specific Fusion Materials (except for his ace, The Earth / Terra Firma); they only need an E-Hero + 1 Monster of a specific Attribute
Imagine we see a crossover between the gx manga world and the gx anime world
Honestly, I think some of the decks in the Manga were a little inconsistent compared to the Anime.
The manga had potential
Too bad it felt rushed along the way. But it was a good iteration nonetheless
GX manga felt rushed? No way lol that shit was great. What felt rushed was Zexal
Both the manga and anime have strong and weak elements, would have loved to see a story that combined the best of the two !
SpellCommander91 has made a GX rewrite using such elements, though the copyright police may have stopped him from finishing it.
I love how you say "DER Yugioh GX Manga ist different" 😂
i loved chazz ojama deck in the anime, i tought that wining with a gimick deck with crappy normal monsters was pretty cool
Manga atticus is actually my favorite yugioh character, i think he way cooler than anime Atticus. I really like his sphere deck better than his red eyes dragon deck.
That was great. Please make a video recapping the entire GX manga
i like how jaden looses more oftenly in the manga, much more realistic and bether for the other caracters
Amazing video bro
Nova Master isn't from the manga but it is inspired by it
This was such a great and informative video - would love to hear a summary of the manga! Subscribed!
Bro your voice is amazing it makes the videos very entertaining
What I found funny about the house colors was the blue was best because kiba used Obelisk and red was worst because Yugi used Slypher and yellow was in the middle because neither of them used Ra
you know a reboot to all seasons of yugioh but based on the manga i think it be dope. Its the story we know but massive changes
Great content g
Okay so after what told me it seems like manga has a better story and uses the characters, better, but the monsters in the anime are so Awesome and iconic that I don’t mind it being inferior in story
yeah I'd be down to know more about the manga
I super disagree with your take on the vision hero's being less recognizable as opposed to destiny hero's, but other than that good video! I for am glad they release most of their manga counterparts with upgraded design and effects got released and are now good staples for hero's
Der bre will international gehen xD
You are my new favorite youtuber
been really curiious about th GX manga recently and you're cute, double win here
Dein Englisch hat sich im laufe der Zeit wirklich gut verbessert.
Who thought this was a good idea?
imagine combining both the anime and manga versions of Yu-Gi-Oh
Both of them have their different focus I love the legacy that shown in the manga but I love the growing up of the anime
Krass, ich hab gar nicht gewusst das du so gut englisch sprichst!
In the anime it states he a geologist and paleontologist as well so that why he has a rock and fossil monster deck.
This is what happened when Pegasus and Kaiba died before gx started
The neo hero space deck was just more cooler based on the art and aesthetic design features.
of all the things i was not expecting Chazz to be this importent in the manga
Was just about to finally fall asleep then this shows up on my timeline😂😂😂😂😊
Chazz in the manga is who we thought he would turn out to be at the end of his character development in the anime
I’m on chapter 40 and I just saw this vid on my home page that’s pretty suspicious……..
denglisch hahaha :) nice one wusste net das du noch vids machst
Get your game on!!!!!
Sorry I couldn't resist 😂😂😂😂
Hm, this was interesting, I would really like to know more.
Also, have you done 5D’s too?
Rainbow Dragon may be incredibly awesome, but Tripper Mercury is a force to be reckoned with.
The Planet series was such a cool concept, and they implemented it into the story perfectly.
Both the anime and manga are top tier among Yu-Gi-Oh series imo.
Fühlt sich an als wär ich in nem Paralleluniversum😂
Kennst du serienreviewer ?
Guder dude habt viel gemeinsam ^^
😂😂😂
super odcinek nie wiedziałem ze jest tyle różnić pomiędzy anime i mangą
I’d be open to the idea where they could combine the two parts of the enemy in the manga together because honestly the ancient Egypt thing that was already done with the original Yu-Gi-Oh I like the whole gentle darkness with Jaden because one it’s original into it shows that just because it’s dark doesn’t make it. Evil witch is Jaden’s character with the supreme king
Thats a lot, would be cool to see a comparison for 5ds or the other Yu gi oh series
I'll love to see a video with the full manga story!
Masked Heroes are what made me care about hero decks. Theyre absolutely iconic imo. Probably a culture thing cause theyre more toku hero themed than comic book heroes like Elemental.
Do a video about the other series manga & anime differences !
I honestly had no clue there was a manga of GX. I personally prefer the OG’s manga over the show so I can imagine I would enjoy this way more.
I didn’t mind him having fossil cards. Fit his character in the anime.
Hope you make more differences videos about yugioh... I am anime only guy 😂
Great videos man
unfathomably based, love your content king
The manga is great, the E Heroes are so fun to play =D Chad is finally à réal rival for Judai and Alexia's brother is finally as strong as hé intended to be =D Sad stuff for Jesse but I didn't get attaché to him so it doesnt shake me too much Sorry xP
Fusion are neutral
monsters are with effects
3 masked heroes are missing.. I would match them with the last 3 kamen rider series
And thus I began to see the JudaixJohan ship.
jesse is the pokemon equivalent of bug catcher rick
Yes please make a full story video of the manga
Would love a recap of the whole manga!
Yugioh gx anime was my daily ritual I was 6 or 7 and it always played before I went to taekwando class adult me prefers the Manga 100x over but im excited to show it to my daughter regardless
To be fair the anime was somewhat planned out as it went I think xD
Kazuki wasn't successfully convinced to turn Yugi into an eternal journey like Ash from Pokemon so they went for the school life vibe most likely because that concept alone could naturally make for a long series.
Yes we would like a Video of the Ehole difference of GX.
I love your videos
A nice touch on the thumbnail would’ve been to make the anime/colored Jaden’s pupils grayed out where it’s brown
The manga felt like a proper well thought out story, while the anime was basically aimless for 90% of its run with stupid amounts of filler and basically became the Jaden only show making everyone else comic relief or useless
The manga deserves an anime adaptation
