Like the person below me, you are the only one who shows which wires to connect if you have either one or two switches. Learning that is the only reason I needed to watch a video. Thank you for including that information. I'm surprised others didn't do that.
Agreed with other's comments. I have installed numerous ceiling fans and it has gotten much easier, but I have never lived in a house with two switches already installed. You explained it well. Thanks for the help.
Danny, Thank you for making this such an easy install for the average guy with no handyman experience. I installed 2 Hampton Bay fans based off your video. I realized on fan number two that’s it’s much easier to install the fan stems while the fan is down rather than up on the ceiling. Keep up the good work !!!
Thanks for this great video it did helped me a lot to installed my celing fan It made things much easier Keep making videos like this to help others like me,who now I consider myself useful 😂 have a great day
Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.
What do you do if you have two separate switches for fan and light, but the fan comes with a remote? There’s an AC in and out for both black and white at the remote unit, but only one blue?
I bought a new fan that only has black and white wires coming out of the fan and the fan uses a remote instead of chains. In order to use both light switches do I need to go to a more basic fan? I’m having a hard time finding out how to figure out which fans in the big box stores have the extra wire. Any suggestions?
Yes, it uses the remote instead of a switch. The other fan I installed was like that. I don’t know if a way to use the second wall switch unless you decided to tap into the light kit on the fan, which of course I would not recommend ua-cam.com/video/9IUDYTkhu5M/v-deo.html
Hi, I wired a new ceiling fan.At the wall there are two switches, one for the ceiling fan and one for the ceiling fan light. Whenever the fan is on the light does not work. In other words, I switch the light on and it comes on but then I switch the fan on and the light goes off. Any idea what this could be?
The video shows mine as wires with 2 switches, so if it’s not working and wired like mine I can only imagine the fan kit does not have the option for both or the house is wired differently. Any difference when you pull the light or fan chain on the fan?
I have two switches for my fan as well. And, I have a red wire coming from the ceiling too. However, when I try to hook up the red to the blue, white to white, black to black and grounds to grounds....nothing works. It seems like the only power source I have it the red wire. Nothing on the black. zero reading on my multimeter. Any ideas????
You may need to check the panel where the breaker is located. Those wires may not be connected. Do be careful and seek professional help if you feel it’s necessary
What are all the wires you have? Red usually means a 2nd switch. If you already have white from the house, black from the house, and bare copper, you will leave the red unused with a wire nut cap still on it and connect the white to white and blue, black and black together, seen at 4:06 minutes into the video. If you don’t have a white at all it’s possible you need to use the red in it’s place but please verify with an electrician before trusting me, especially since I can’t see what is going on.
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Thank You! In my electrical box I have a white, black, bare and a red wire. I have only one switch that controls the fan and light kit. My fan has a white, black, blue, green wires
I installed my fan, has to switches , both of them work as one, so one turns on /off and vice versa , I only have two wires on the ceiling , white and black, fan came with 3 , blue/white/white , and black /black . I did the same on the light just two connections , white/white, black/black, fan works but I get no light . What I do wrong .?
Why did you twist the Greene with the Neutral White? Doesn't make since the only play Ground & Neutral come together is in the main service panel. I seen two grounds connected with a neutral white wire! That is not right.
After countless videos, you are the ONLY video to demonstrate which wires to attach for either one or two switches. Thank you so much!

Thank you SO much for showing how to wire single-switch installs. This is exactly what I needed.

Thanks for this great video…saved me the expense of hiring a pro…didnt even use the instructions..just went step by step with the video…thanks again!!
This is thee best installation video…I literally did not look at the instructions once…thank you!

Well done Boss. I enjoyed the video you explained it all. I might buy this fan one day it looks nice and seems like it moves a good ampunt of air.
I really like the other one I installed as well, so check it out too. It's a little bigger ua-cam.com/video/9IUDYTkhu5M/v-deo.html

That’s how my other fan was. I would see it’s install video. I believe only one switch is used for a remote ua-cam.com/video/9IUDYTkhu5M/v-deo.html
Well done sir! Thank you.
Nice job looks great 👍
I get a kick out of your technical jargon. 😂 this and that. Tassel thingy and whatever you called the ceiling attachment cover.
*Easy install, so far Works great **Fastly.Cool** !*
Very helpful! Thank you

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage Thanks for the response, I figured it out. It was basically wired wrong at the fan.
Thanks for helping

Is that the new model of the Rockport series?
It was perchases this year, that’s all I know
What do you do with the blue if it has a remote
I would refer to the instructions, but this is how my fan with remote was wired ua-cam.com/video/9IUDYTkhu5M/v-deo.html

Ceiling fan only has 2 wires that I purchased but the room has 2 switches
Same scenario here. Two switches in the wall but only two wires in the fan?? Did you figure it out?
I got one with a remote and returned it because I didn’t want to lost the light switch control - I’m so confused
Thank you sooooooooo much
How much was this fan and how many CFM's?
7817 CFM. Specs are in the description. I believe they have updated the model. It's slightly different amzn.to/3e6nD9O
Thank you
Had 3 I installed
I liked how the blades snapped on for this one
That a Hampton bay Rockport
Thank you 😂
