    Ottawa/Gatineau climber. Congrats on the channel! Not sure what the mantra of the show will be. If you plan to incorporate climbing training videos, your exercises or protocols for the classic areas of endurance, power endurance, strength etc. And I agree climbing specific core exercises.

    In one of your interviews you mentioned being heavily influenced by Sheiko's approach to programming. I have read everything of his I can get access to. I'd love for you to discuss how he's influenced you, what from him you've used, and how you differ from his approach as well!
    Loved the vid!

    Been a huge fan since you were on the Power Company Podcast. Really glad you're on UA-cam putting out some content. I've been doing finger training from the floor for years now, so much so that I started making my own stuff. Huge thanks to you for getting me started on that journey!

    Great video Yves! How much do you feel the wrist wrench in your finger tips? The least of all the grip lifts?

  • @PhilippZschoche
    @PhilippZschoche 15 днів тому

    Very informative about the wrist wrench. I've build such a thing to fix my weak wrist a while ago, but just having it in the corner haven't helped yet. 🤷

    Really awesome work. Always love your videos. I could prob do like 40kg max. As an older person (40) with back issues though I think the back rounding you have while deadlifting that heavy could possibly cause back problems. Squat university is a good channel with specific stuff to work on for the back rounding. Just want to see you succeed because you are an inspiration for me!

    Would you implement the same workout program you use for rolling thunder, on for example the ironmind/Gods of grip pinch block? Or do you have a completely different program for all exercises? Thanks for the video, tested your rolling thunder workout yesterday, amazing!!

  • @stranger_unfamiliar

    Great video! My question: if I wanted to focus on one finger exercise before climbing as you recommended - should I use the smallest hang board edge I can still effectively train on? I’m assuming this will carry over to the bigger edges, but I wonder sometimes if hangboard training is edge specific too

    Magnus Midbto t'as mentionné dans une vidéo avec Adam Ondra assez récemment. Tu devrais essayer de faire une vidéo avec Magnus. Genre une compétition grip strength. Je suis certain que la vidéo et le concept fonctionnerait. Magnus en a fait plein. Faut juster vous puissiez coordonner. Il doit venir aux US souvent.

    What are the best ways to improve pinch grip without any specific implements? I struggle with this.. Other than pinching 45lbs plates. Im fine on open hand and crush, but pinch is really lagging

    Is it necessary to train WRIST WRENCH and Rolling Thunder at the same time? Don't they overlap about the same in grip strength?

    • @yvesgravelle
      @yvesgravelle  12 днів тому

      No, it’s definitely not necessary. You could do it on the same session to vary the workload and build better anaerobic capacity. Most grip comps have multiple events and can be run over multiple days so being strong I sometimes not enough. You have to also be fit and ready for the demand of the sport.
