Full Grip training session breakdown in preparation for GSI North American Grip sport championships and answering popular finger strength training questions.
Ottawa/Gatineau climber. Congrats on the channel! Not sure what the mantra of the show will be. If you plan to incorporate climbing training videos, your exercises or protocols for the classic areas of endurance, power endurance, strength etc. And I agree climbing specific core exercises.
That fly wheel looks amazing! I would love to try something like that. Keep up the quality content and keep crushing 💪 always a pleasure to watch your videos
In one of your interviews you mentioned being heavily influenced by Sheiko's approach to programming. I have read everything of his I can get access to. I'd love for you to discuss how he's influenced you, what from him you've used, and how you differ from his approach as well! Loved the vid!
Been a huge fan since you were on the Power Company Podcast. Really glad you're on UA-cam putting out some content. I've been doing finger training from the floor for years now, so much so that I started making my own stuff. Huge thanks to you for getting me started on that journey!
Very informative about the wrist wrench. I've build such a thing to fix my weak wrist a while ago, but just having it in the corner haven't helped yet. 🤷
Really awesome work. Always love your videos. I could prob do like 40kg max. As an older person (40) with back issues though I think the back rounding you have while deadlifting that heavy could possibly cause back problems. Squat university is a good channel with specific stuff to work on for the back rounding. Just want to see you succeed because you are an inspiration for me!
Would you implement the same workout program you use for rolling thunder, on for example the ironmind/Gods of grip pinch block? Or do you have a completely different program for all exercises? Thanks for the video, tested your rolling thunder workout yesterday, amazing!!
Great video! My question: if I wanted to focus on one finger exercise before climbing as you recommended - should I use the smallest hang board edge I can still effectively train on? I’m assuming this will carry over to the bigger edges, but I wonder sometimes if hangboard training is edge specific too
Nice video, impressive strength! Might I suggest that you study some dead lift technique. Looks a little dangerous to yank the bar off the floor without "pulling the slack out".
Hey yves! I’m curious what does your diet look like im doing a project on athlete diets and I wanted to do it on your diet and a couple other peoples. If you could reply to this and let me know that would be much appreciated thank you!!
What are the best ways to improve pinch grip without any specific implements? I struggle with this.. Other than pinching 45lbs plates. Im fine on open hand and crush, but pinch is really lagging
No, it’s definitely not necessary. You could do it on the same session to vary the workload and build better anaerobic capacity. Most grip comps have multiple events and can be run over multiple days so being strong I sometimes not enough. You have to also be fit and ready for the demand of the sport.

Can’t wait to see more! If there’s anything I can do to help let me know!
Thanks for sharing this video !
CAN you do more vidéos if training and a video for fingerstrenght
Great video Yves! How much do you feel the wrist wrench in your finger tips? The least of all the grip lifts?

Niiice un autre video! Je me demandais justement si je devais utiliser le pouce ou pas avec le cylindre, merci

can we get a future video dedicated to core training?

You are awesome
Hey Yves what training program would you recommend on a weekly basis for building strength for climbing
Very informative as always! Have you already tested the flywheel for finger training? Any observations you can share?
Not specifically, I use it more for strength and conditioning.
Nice video, impressive strength! Might I suggest that you study some dead lift technique. Looks a little dangerous to yank the bar off the floor without "pulling the slack out".
thanks yves
Dope tee 😎👊

How much did the Rackfly wheel cost if you dont mind me asking?

Commenting for the algorithm 😎
What machine is that you are using towards the end of the video?
It’s the rack Fly from Exerfly.
@@yvesgravelle thank you.
Just wondering if you’ve ever done any actual arm wrestling, given that your training is so similar?
What is your max on the Lattice pinch block?
54kg
you definitely have to try burden of dream... i think it suit you. what are your thoughts about it?
I definitely want to try it! I recently purchased a replica to create content and train for it!
Is it necessary to train WRIST WRENCH and Rolling Thunder at the same time? Don't they overlap about the same in grip strength?

What do you think about Ivan Krivykh?
Very strong and technical competitor.
Lets goooo
what shoes do you wear? They look so comfy
There’s from North face, not sure the model. I got them for Christmas!
Where did you buy your wrist wrench?
Arm assassin strength shop, the diameter is 2 3/8
@@yvesgravelle thank you. You are a great inspiration for grip strength.
Take brain supplements Victory Brain reward, Pituitary/hypothalamus, dha, fish oil, creatine -- strengthening the brain will strengthen your body too
Forearms on this guy are as big or possibly bigger than his biceps. Must have one hell of a grip.
He's the strongest grip player at his weight division I think.
What is gripsport
comment for the algorithm
Thanks for the video! I suggest you try to hold for 3 seconds on the wrist wrench
Teaching science to Einstein
I do isometric hold with the wrench as well. In this workout it was use as a forearm exercise to do wrist curls
Let's do a collab with Devon Larrat and head down a few kilometres for one of their arm wrestling club nights.
I would be down! Get ready for my super match with Magnus on east vs west! Haha
@@yvesgravelle do it!
