If I wasn't mistaken, I believe the double down challenge is available after most races if you had reached max heat level before finishing the race. and while it only gives you a little amount of bonus bounties, if you happens to race every single one of the double down challenges that the game threw at you, later down the line you would realize that you had already unlocked boss battles without completing each and every one of the races they have to offer. I'm also certain that while the game didn't directly mention it, it also double your cash reward, so a $4500 reward became $9000 and it makes money making much, much easier.

The PSP was my first game system and this was my first game. Before that all I played were flash games, so I didn't understand what a "Save game" was, so for the first week I would constantly replay the first 30 minutes of the game. While the gameplay was worse than the console versions, they carried over the entire soundtrack and that was just as memorable as anything that I did in the game. I had my moms apple earbuds and I felt like I was THE shit listening to all that edgy music. I think my PSP is broken, but it still had the memory card in it last time I checked. I still think about getting a used one and taking my lime green cobalt with white tribal graphics for a spin once again.
yea, was kinda disappointed playing this after i did a 100% playthrough mc3 on my phone via emulator. in fact im still in awe that i can play the gamecube version instead which actually is a a full port, instead of whatever this mess was.
I do remember about a year ago going through all the NFS PSP games, because I remember how fond I was of Own The City, which felt like a pretty genuine NFS title when you consider the hardware it was on. Gotta say, I was pretty disappointed when I came out of that, realizing that Own the city was probably the most effort put on the PSP titles outside of Rivals. All of them ran on the same general engine, for the most part had the same physics, progression was more or less the same and I think only a couple tried to tell a story and even so the most comprehensive was OTC and Undercover, only one being original (and a surprisingly good one I'd say) and the other just straight rips from the mainline console versions. Granted, if I was a kid I'd more than likely have gotten a kick out of these other titles, because I always loved grinding out car upgrades in the main games, but looking back its really simplistic. Its funny you mentioned phone emulators, because after my initial look back at these PSP games, I did download dolphin on my phone and ended up running Underground/Mostwanted/carbon without even the slightest hitch 😂. Technology for sure has come a long way, but ill always have nostalgic for the PSP, even if some ports where for better or worse.
@@genkia87 Yeah Same, Rivals was good although it eventually got extremely repetitive going through the same few circuits over and over and there is no real endgame since the game is just a checklist so I tried to complete all races which took me over 22 hours 5-1-0 was obviously pretty disappointing, but OTC was even better than main version in some aspects, it had great variety of races, decent story and the difficulty was actually fairly balanced. ProStreet just felt extremely flat and barren with no drag or drift and little event variety, even DS version had more effort into it. Undercover just felt meh and didn't try anything new and Shift was some weird Burnout Dominator reskin that felt more like ProStreet than the actual ProStreet PSP game
@@father042 I also played those games, UR as decent as it was it felt like a slap on the face 100%ing it with no real reward, considering how much the tracks repeat and the grand amount of time I spent completing it (Maybe noone has mentioned this but two courses for Nexus are nowhere to be seen in the events and can only be accessed through arcade mode). I have so much good memories about this game tbh. Nice video. Keep it up. Keep going fast😉.
I love this channel so much brother! You just now seen to be finding your footing, I really do think as long as you stick with it, you will be one of the big dogs in no time! Love the content!
Would’ve been nice to know. Still probably wouldn’t have done it because of how much extra money I had but still 😅
Another great video, looking forward to whatever comes next!
Oh man I always called those two large turns in Rockport “The Rockport Curves”. So many races and heat 5 chases were thrown on those curves
KACEY: "...released in December, day to day with the main console release."
ME: I knew it!!!
dude how have you only got 28k subs... found your channel today and was shocked to see as your content quality is immaculate and nobody covers these bad pc ports like you, keep grinding man :) could you do a video on some more bad/weird ports:)
More are coming :)
in the game, its fell like the cars are to small and the camera dosen't help.
I have played Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition a LOT!
I remembered my PSP-3000, that game was way ahead of this time! I didn't know that was a PS2 port
I was so lucky that I bought a McLaren F1 then modify it with a F1 GTR bodykit, gud old times
I play the DS version and oh boy stuff gets rough there
your videos are so niche, I love them
I absolutely love the game, it was the first game I played properly on the PSP. However absolutely everything you said is true.
0:39 House real big! Cars real big! Belly real big! Everything real big!
I beat this game like 12 years ago when I was 10. And holy shit did it get FRUSTRATINGLY difficult in the second half and slowly gets harder.
Man, love this in-depth review. 12year old me absolutely loved this game but I need to agree with this review. Great content here!
growing up as a kid and only having this one game cause we were broke, id take the psp with me everywhere and listen to the playlist of this game for hours and it developed my entire taste in music up to this day- i also loved the game and forced myself to adapt to the horrible mechanics since its the only one i had to play lmaoooo i would get furious at the broken mechanics
Seems that in the PSP era of NFS games they alternate between amazing and shit with the exception of Undercover. Can't wait to see you review the PSP version of ProStreet
I loved this game in my psp, the sound track was good too
The intro song activated a part of my brain that hasn’t been accessed since 2005. Holy nostalgia
Hey Kacey! New subscriber here. The reason I subbed is for the racing game content, dirt 5 review and gran turismo retrospective etc. I would love love love to see more from you! Great quality videos! Looking forward to more racing and non racing videos. Thanks brother
I'm just so glad I ended up getting Carbon:Own the city instead of 5-1-0 (along with GTPSP) a decade ago for my PSP-1005, lol.
Excited for that Horizon 2 video!
And I'm hoping you'll take a look at Rise of the Tomb Raider on the 360.
It's amazing how good that looks especially compared to other not so great 360/PS3 ports from around then such as Shadow of Mordor and Dragon Age Inquisition
Still better than crossroads
I'll have you know fast and furious crossroads is one of the most superior narrative racing games out there. That game alone has surpassed every need for speed including your beloved most wanted.
@@waterbottlecupcan4026 Ew
If you ever review any psp racing games can you ever check wipeout pure or flat out headon
Isn't Flatout Head On nearly identical to PC and console versions of Flatout 2?
@@father042 its a good thing
The day my mom got me my first PSP, I bought this game with it, and took it back the same day, no free roam was a deal breaker for me back then.
Yes we need another unraveled video from Gilbert
Kid: “Mom, can we get the original NFS Most Wanted?”
Mom: “We have NFS Most Wanted at home.”
NFS Most Wanted at home:
Kacey a cute. Glad you're covid-free! Excited to see more content in the minimme genre!
yea, was kinda disappointed playing this after i did a 100% playthrough mc3 on my phone via emulator. in fact im still in awe that i can play the gamecube version instead which actually is a a full port, instead of whatever this mess was.
@@genkia87 Yeah Same, Rivals was good although it eventually got extremely repetitive going through the same few circuits over and over and there is no real endgame since the game is just a checklist so I tried to complete all races which took me over 22 hours
5-1-0 was obviously pretty disappointing, but OTC was even better than main version in some aspects, it had great variety of races, decent story and the difficulty was actually fairly balanced.
ProStreet just felt extremely flat and barren with no drag or drift and little event variety, even DS version had more effort into it.
Undercover just felt meh and didn't try anything new and Shift was some weird Burnout Dominator reskin that felt more like ProStreet than the actual ProStreet PSP game
mc3? Midnight Club 3 never got a Gamecube port
I was confused as well, then took a closer look and he meant MW05's Gamecube version
Does this mean, PSP Carbon soon?
I have one, but the game itself is super buggy and half of the map dissappear. (Sorry for my grammar mistake.)
Subscribed man, great video
This was my first NFS game, compared to the other NFS games on PSP, the sense of speed on 5-1-0 is so much better imo
MW 2005 and Carbon are my only fav NFS games. I don't know whether it happened because I grow up and my taste changed or something else
Still better than whatever the fuck the Nintendo DS port of Most Wanted was supposed to be. I’d rather people play the Game Boy Advance version and just forget that the DS version was ever a thing
The thing I hate about 510 is that The police is only against you and the traffic hates you, other than that, I love the game
Midnight Club and Motorstorm: Arctic Edge were my favorite racing games on psp
I am so nostalgic for NFSMW 510.
Ima sub now before you reach 100k.
I enjoyed this game as it was part of my childhood so I really don't see a problem with it
Ming in 510 drives barons car lol
I played this game once and a half through. Early Game Tracks are better for late game cars? I have to check that out!
Oh, NFS Shift, how much I can't wait for your PSP Review... Played that fella 3 times 100%
Frick you i love the psp version of most wanted and nobody is gonna change my opinion of it!
wasn't trying to, seems insecure of you to assume i was
@@Kaceydotme ok
Well nobody does force your opinion to change it... This video is a criticism, not some... propaganda.
@@Pokaroquai well I am a bit insecure at times
@@raunakgujralsongs9135 why don’t you try midnight club 3 on psp it’s literally the exact same as the ps2 version unlike most wanted 5-1-0
I once had played this game but I only could make it to the third blacklist and couldn't beat some couple other races to defeat Ronnie and I hate myself stuck on there with a highly disappointing Lamborghini Gallardo 😑😑
Another thing, ther were two race tracks in this game don't taken from any other NFS game, namely 5th Precinct and Riverview.
@@NaufalHS Riverview is based on HP2 Outback, although I still can't pinpoint what 5th Precint is, it's probably based somewhere in UG2 Coal Harbor
@@luhibi1220 Wait, but isn't Riverview was actually based on Island Outskirts? Idk but I think that track is mostly based on that HP2 track rather and I'm not kinda sure if mine was right
Atleats it's not the DS port.
Edit : which is really unenjoyable for me, the DS Prostreet is way better imo and kinda unrelated but i still think Dirt2 on the DS is the best PC/Console to DS port in terms of racing game. You should check it out!
Grid for the DS is pretty good too
Now tell me why the hell NFS Most Wanted PC Version is really hard to find in digital store?
Because it's a very outdated game with long expired licenses.
Licensing for cars and music.
Same reason why Microsoft pulled forza horizon 3 from their store last autumn
@@philipjkb15 you can pirate both of them thou
3.26 Valtteri, it's James, let your rival through
Looking at my copy of this game on my shelf and all I get is bad memories from it
Let the past stay behind you
Compared to how difficult midnight club 3 and la are on the PSP’s nice change of pass xD
I bought this game at the same time as Resident Evil 4. One guess as to which game got played more.
Ever heard about the series corvette on the ps2? You should do a review on it, fits your channel. Love the content
Recently found your channel, and so far you're still pretty great. Love your coverage of more niche titles!
But... I just gotta mention. Did you just mention you're from Duval County? Not to be weird or anything but that caught me off guard as a Jacksonville native myself! If I didn't mishear you, wonder if there's any chance we passed each other in school?
I couldn't even beat this game as a kid, idk if I was just bad or the rubber banding was too ridiculous but I had experience with racing games already with Burnout 3, Revenues & GT.😆
NFS MW 05 is a great game but looking back at it now graphically and ecen mechanically it hasn't aged well
For some reason I keep on having dreams that I'm in Rockport, but it resembles the world from the PSP port.
I played this game to completion back in 2006, it was extremely frustrating.
man I'm glad I had carbon: own the city instead of this one, that game actually had some substance and was different from the full version. I guess to balance that out I also had most wanted for the ds...
I had both lol but I was like 5 so I can't remember that much
I was just playing a tournament race and all the A.I. drivers got busted on lap 1
Can I request an NFS Shift 2 review on Xbox 360? I have such a love and hate relationship with that game it's unreal, and am sure as hell you would go on a 10 minute full blown rant regarding the handling, physics and AI :)
