- For isolated drum tracks, just pan your speakers to the right.
I decided to try a new method of sound on this one.
i placed the drums on both speakers and the music only on the left speaker.
It sounds good over here - hope it sounds good where you are. This should also avoid any copyright issues as the left track is not equal to the right track.
This is also the last video I'll make with my old PC cause I just got a Mac, and they say once you go Mac, you don't go back! Now If I could just figure out how to turn it on!

You nailed it Joe. That was one of Chester Thompson's most inspired performances. He was really allowed to put his stamp on that song.
Brings a whole new perspective and deeper meaning to the song.

That's what I like about you. You step out of the box and cover a song that 100 other UA-cam drummers would not cover. I may show my age here, but we had some great music in the 70's and 80's. Great job as always, Joe!

I think every drummer has bad habits, mine is that I watched Phil Collins DVD’s when I was a kid and I copied his playing style, which mean I sit like the hunchback of Notre dam on my throne, so it gives me really bad back aches sometimes. But it’s the only way i can play now, I was never told that Phil’s sitting postion is not good, If it try to sit correctly I play like a complete newbie.
But I really enjoyed your cover (Best I’ve seen for ages on UA-cam)

First time I have seen your covers, quite an excellent job. I believe the "live" version of I Don't Care Anymore is better than the studio version and would make an interesting video. I hope you try it, I think it would come out good, especially with the isolated tracking like you did on It Don't Matter to Me!

Brilliant idea to put your track on one side and the orig on the other for isolated tracks. Gonna start doing that with my own going forward. Tremendous, drumming, btw - wish this was my playing style but I love to listen!

@ajtoy454 Mostly sm57's a couple of Bayar's (it's the same mic Phil is singing into - I think that's how you spell it) - it gets recorded into that Zoom HD16 digital recorder in the background. All the sound is done in Vegas though. The recorder just records the raw sound of the drums.

Another great one, Joe! The off-time snare beat makes this a tricky song. But you were RIGHT ON throughout. Love the opening and closing copyright disclaimers. Did you have any problems? They muted my Genesis right off the bat, but lifted it after I disputed it. And the green screen was great as always. Really adds depth to the visuals.

Great Cover, your snare hits are really strange ( hitting near your knee or even resting on your knee ) have you always played like this?
I play myself and i like loads of drummers, but i have never seen anyone play like that before.

@BigALuk33 Yes - If you look close theres even a red mark on my leg from this. It's a really bad habit that I learned wrong when I was learning as a kid. No one ever said "you gotta hold the sticks like this" I think I missed that class. Too late to change now - but thanks
