12" is a unique machine. Nowadays they also have the space but clearly, we just don't understand the reasoning behind putting the spotlight search and e.g. dictation key 🥴 instead of something actually useful
Finally found a fix! I have been burning my retina with no keyboard brightness toggle for the last 2 years on this M1 Pro MacBook x.x Thank you for the tutorial!
What a great simple video, really. I am used now to staying on 1/10 brightness and that’s fine for me all the time, so not for me, but many would probably need it
I don't understand why F3 and F4 on M series Macs aren't for keyboard brightness. Spotlight can be activated with CMD+Space and Mission Control is something which you can do with gestures and isn't really as important as keyboard brightness imo
I don't know what happened with my textEdit but when I renamed it, the file changed, so I had to start it in VS Code and copied the right code back in to it. Works perfekt, nice job
The spotlight button has got to be the most useless button ever. cmd space is easier to reach and there it a menu bar icon. Not to mention i've never needed to use spotlight
Hard for me to say since I do not own one and I doubt that the solution shown in the video can be done on an iPad, but my best guess is to spend some time in the shortcut app. This link might somehow help You: www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/g82yif/shortcut_to_change_ipad_magic_keyboard_brightness/ Also if it's possible to create a shortcut that will adjust Your magic keyboard brightness to let's say 50% You can try to set some super simple name to this shortcut like "K50" and then simply trigger it using spotlight search and type this name. Create as many of them as You need e.g. K00, K25, K100.
And what keys did You choose? I’ll write some stupid obvious things now, which are already in the video, because it’s hard for me to tell what might be the issue since nobody seems to have a similar problem. I know You might have done them already but even though: If You choose the keys I did make sure to press “fn” alongside. Also double check the path and the file name (be sure to use .plist). Maybe You have some different app that is fighting the bind? Like mentioned in the video Karabiner Elements. Those are things that I came up. Check the links in the document (in the description) since those might be more helpful
@@Lucyian_ we dont need to pay, i'm too lazy to find tutorials on youtube (this video poped up in recommendations). i want so system will set up everything for me. macbooks however are so overpriced.
I hope the redesigned MacBook Pro will have the touch bar above the function keys. I really liked adjusting my brightness from it.
@Apple this would be so cool
This is the reason i am staying on my old mack pro with intel.
Because it has touch bar 🙂
@@BimblyPlays Yeah but this small 13 inch display
i dont have this issue, nor do i care about the video, but i can tell its well made so you earned my sub, keep it up :)
Awesome work! Been looking for a fix and finally got one thanks to you, keep going and you'll make it big some day!
Appreciate it 🥹
that's why I love my macbook 12", the best one ever
even though it's the smallest it has those functions. clearly apple had the space

R.I.P Mac’s Touch Bar
2016-2019
It would've been a much better experience if the function keys weren't replaced!
2022 had it

This is a really cool video :)
DUDE TYSM WHOEVER U R
I use remapped the f5 and f6 key because that is what I'm used to, and dictation and do not disturb keys serve no purpose.
Well, this is awesome!
isnt workin its just like stopping keyboard brightness completely

That's the truth. Even replacing it with screenshot functions would be a Decillion times more useful.
thanks❤
Oh that's the only video you got...😅
Working on it haha
Is there a way to do it with ipad keyboard too?

good, but windows have this function since windows 10 release.
What can I say, money is not the only price we need to pay
